Retirement concert was at Ossett Cameron, I remember this lovely lady sitting in the wings waiting to go on and asking me to do up her blouse top button because she was having a bit of trouble with arthritis at the time. Wonderful woman and with all her years of fame, so approachable and kindly. Young and old rose as one and gave her a very long standing ovation at the end.

Doreen is now in her 90's and was still playing publicly (and to this high standard!) until a couple of years ago, one of the finest oranists we have ever had here in the UK!!
