  • I'm in the market for a handheld, saw some good articles on gpssatnavreviews (.) com

  • I have a G.P.S. 72 and can confirm that it is excellent, but it is NOT waterproof, they claim they are but are not, mine dropped into the briny for no longer than a couple of seconds, and was never the same.To be fair to Garmin,I got on to them and they replaced it without question.I use mine for kayaking, and now if it's looking like it will get wet,it goes in the hatch.

  • @GBPaddling We've had very good luck with this line from Garmin, but occasionally they do come back with water. Nice to know that Garmin took care of you (as would West Marine, due to our strong guarantee).

  • 5:29 FAIL AHHHAHAHAHA

  • love my 72

  • can you do a review on the gps72? please

  • @snowboarderj07 Yes! Search westmarineinc for a review of the 72H. It's a great basic GPS.

  • i have the Gamin GPSmap 76, and im having a problem with putting maps on the unit, you said the sd card is what you put the info on for computer to unit info. can i not do that on mine?

  • The GPSMAP 76 only has 8mb of internal memory and it's not expandable.

Get a higher level 76 series, like a CS or a CSx.

  • @slickyslasho It uses a micro SD card which can be purchased from West Marine or Garmin, or you can get the Blue Chart CD rom and create your own chart chip. The easy way is to buy the preprogrammed card.

  • So you were out in Monterey Bay when you shot this video, eh?

  • Sort of, we were actually sitting in our slip at the Santa Cruz yacht harbor when the video was shot.
