Wow, conservatives have really just abandoned any effort at making sense. Banks and the 99% are kind of on opposite sides of class conflict in America. Also, it boggles my mind that there are still Americans who think universal health care is a bad thing. That's nothing short of sociopathic.
@trilobright Has it ever occurred to you to research just who receives the most in Fortune 500 donations? Has it ever occured to you to research where in the world 100% free health care is given out? @MarkOxnerForCongress You should hire better staff or take away their internet privileges. No one expects a BS from U of NO to be Einstein, but with help like trilobright you might as well throw in the towel now before you blow your retirement.
@rynesandberg69 apologizes to trilobright, I got confused and thought you were the rep form Oxner making the ridiculous comments. It was of course Oxner Staff, like somehow volunteering in an election makes you an expert on governmnent health care models. By the way Sarah Burke, the Canadian skier who died in Utah last week, had a hospital bill for half a million dollars which her parents must pay. If the accident had happened in Canada, well you do the math.
@rynesandberg69 The bill would have been far less if Congress, monopolistic health insurance companies, and the AMA had not strangled the supply of medical care in the U.S. via reduction in medical schools over the past few decades, while simultaneously driving up demand.
"OAKLAND -- Occupy Oakland protesters broke into City Hall, stole an American flag from the City Council chamber and set it on fire Saturday night, punctuating a wild day in which police deployed tear gas, arrested more than 200 marchers and dodged hurling objects. Demonstrators spent the day trying to break into a convention center and temporarily occupying City Hall and a YMCA..."
@reda02812 Also, Bush was president from 2001-2009. The events causing the mortgage crisis began in 2004, and of course there was the Iraqi war and all that, thus the crazy debt in the U.S.... The U.S. government sickens me.
Well done! I notice a couple of weak plays of the race card in the comments. Some are still blaming it on Bush. Obama is at the helm, and he has been for 3 years, two of them with a Democrat controlled Senate and House. Bush never blamed Clinton for signing the bill that pushed the limits of CRA. This recession is the direct result of Big Gov't forcing the banks to make NINJA loans. Everything that Obama has done has exacerbated the problem. There is no free lunch. Smooth sailing, Mark!
@beaglebabe48 Republicans did however blame Clinton for 9/11 so... And the problem hasn't gotten worse it has actually gotten better with more than 3.2million jobs created last quarter and the shrinking unemployment rate. But you chose to believe some poorly made ad by a college freshman, meh.Looking forward to seeing Grayson's comeback.
@Sp0ilTheFun Republicans blamed Clinton for 9/11? That's new to me. 3.2 million jobs created? Then explain why the civilian labor force participation rate is at 64% now, and it was 66% in 2008? I know Obama created some extra bureaucrat jobs, but what about jobs for folks that have to pay their salaries? He also created teaching and police positions, which will add an extra burden to the states. Small business is still staggering under the weight of Obama's regulations. Fail!
anyone that think it racist to show what our country is turning into, the epic disaster our policies/federal regulations/taxes have had on the "free" market now for decades just because we have a black president now either has their head in the sand, or is not interested in keeping our constitution, or our free republic, and is using race as a built in excuses to get what they want. and that makes them my enemy.
@somedvl I think it is meant to mock the occupy wall street crowd. I could be wrong, but I noticed in some of the protest footage that a lot of them wore the masks.
Just for the curious reader: a large, large majority of the comments at all critical of this video have been deleted, and accounts of commenters banned. The men responsible for representing Barack Obama as the captain of a slave ship are upset with the tone of the discourse, apparently.
This is probably the most accurate ad I have seen. They just missed putting a border jumper with 10 anchor babies showing hwo they eat up our tax dollars.
@iaminfidel4life -----Let's see, where to begin? First, let's discuss reality, beginning at the neurological level. Pardon me please, not enough characters here, let's move on. Your use of libtard, a derivation of retard, does indeed make you a realist, albeit a racist realist. You are being real when your fear and anger overcome the reasoning part of your prefrontal cortex. You seem to fear black folks, the mentally challenged, anyone who is different politically.....J.Bob
@iaminfidel4life You're not getting the point. Gradual taxation in in the Constitution, people that make millions upon millons of dollars, that they will ultimately sit on and not grow the economy with, need to pay as much as those who work at any other job. Also, when you spend your whole paycheck every month just to get by, your tax rate increases even more. Taxes pay for things, like infrastructure, military, elections.... Wake up.
@rynesandberg69 I don't know about you, but I believe that the American people should be allowed to keep the vast majority of the fruits of their labor, and only those functions which the constitution grants the federal government the authority to control, ought to be funded by tax dollars. - Oxner Staff
@rynesandberg69 Taxes also pay for Solyndra, TARP, Stimulus I, II, etc., bridges to nowhere, and other boondoggles. Why is it that when progressives wish to defend big government, they rally around infrastructure and ignore the abuses of that big government? - Oxner Staff
Funny video, but some things are off. Anonymous isn't happy with the current administration, nor any administration which is robbing the people. Politicians, especially here in the US have been robbing us blind for years with the help of so called special interest groups and corporations. The at every turn, we are at war. In my lifetime I have seen the US at war every decade. I'm now in my late 40's. Why? It has boiled down to US intervention in others affairs and corporate greed.
I think whoever made this video obviously has no idea about the symbolism of a guy fawkes mask. Also Corporate welfare is practiced by republicans to. try again
@MarkOxnerForCongress Alright fine then. lets look at where our debt really comes from. borrowing money from china. and then using those funds to fund multiple wars. multiple UNNECESSARY wars. So Mark Oxner is completely in favor a funding say Israel's economy (this all is from your website) but not our own. He also want to increase our military presence around the world. please research the concept of blowback. also please research guy fawkes.
@CoconutJamz you seem very ignorant if you put guy fawkes next to a pot of gold. wealth is disproportionate in this country beacuse of the financial policies of Buch and Obama. I can more or less agree with the economic plans on your website becuase they are pretty vague and they are difficult to disagree with. people have written entire books on the subject and you have one paragraph on the matter. I also find it a little comical that you would equate barack obama to a slave driver and then
@CoconutJamz not even mention the federal reserve. this ad makes the candidate look ignorant and I hope that you look more deeply into some of your positions.
@CoconutJamz An ad is an ad. An issues page is an issues page. We encourage you to reduce your ignorance by reading the issues page on our website, and if you have questions, feel free to send them in! - Oxner Staff
@CoconutJamz That is not all from our website. It's obvious that no amount of work on our part will get you past your hate of anyone running as a Republican. So thank you for your time, and have a nice day. - Oxner Staff
@CoconutJamz Solyndra ring any bells? How about Buffet profiting from Obama denying the Keystone Pipeline? Obama is the King of Crony Capitalism. My take on the Guy Fawkes Mask is it was intended to represent Occupy. One of their demands is forgiveness of student loans ... a mere $ Trillion should cover most of that.
loved it--the marxist in chief is ruining our country--the food stam prez will go down as the worst prez ever --even over carter the i cannot retire gracefully idiot
@mesaeddie Settle down, Francis. You can still vote for the other guy if you want. But the ad IS creative and it certainly seems to touch a nerve or two with the liberals. Methinks thou doust protest TOO much?
wow the oxner staff deleted my comment, so here it goes again:
Out of literally the infinite analogies, metaphors, similes, and allusions you could have chosen to describe Obama or your congressional race, what made you choose a slave ship. When you guys were sitting in your board room weighing options, strategies, and initiatives-- this was the winner?? What idea lost to this one, i'm curious.
@mesaeddie Yes,crude. Can you argue any points?Corporate subsidies, bailouts, free healthcare(too much poetic license),solar companies got billions in taxpayer money? He's not my boy, don't live in FL.The message:the Federal Government has racked up phenomenally high deficits, and under this administration and Congress continues to do so. We are now borrowing indecent amounts of money that will saddle our children with so much debt that they will indeed be slaves to the government.
I have to keep reminding myself, “This is still an illusion, isn’t it?”
“Balance IS: The absence of excess {aggravating} stimulus! ~ and comes from truth spoken or done.” ~ “Boss”-gear
“Do not allow ‘Thwarting’ to cut ahead of you in line; to cut in front of YOUR inspiration.” ~ “Boss”-gear
"When you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing, it rests softly inside your being with no judgment, no guilt and no imbalance. You just KNOW!” ~ “Boss”-gear
No wonder comments/ratings have been turned off. This turd of a video has a better chance at an Oscar than whoever this clown is has a chance of being elected.
Eerily funny, but I think I would have gone with a hole in the ground with a big sign saying “Stimulus Package Version I, PPACA, Stimulus Package Version II, Welfare, Social Security, etc” and have a big group of kids from all races chained up with their piggy banks in their hands. Then you would see our leader yell to the kids “Do your fair share!” while guiding the kids to the hole and ordering them to throw their piggy banks in one at a time.
@phillymantis North Korea has almost 100% income equality and free healthcare. The problem is, they are on average two inches shorter than South Koreans. The only ones who avoid malnutrition are the politically connected. Regardless of Obama's "vision," this is the end result, always, of socialism. - Oxner Staff
Please stop using Occupy for your own political gain. Regardless of whether I support or oppose a candidate, the Occupy movement is apolitical and would appreciate it if no one would take liberties in using our voices for your gain.
@jenesys69 When did the Occupy movement ever protest a Democrat politician for the same? Perhaps you might consider speaking to the SEIU, George Soros, and the OFA PAC. Thank you. - Oxner Staff
@bevdid2 You do know that the SEIU, George Soros, and Obama (at one time) all endorsed the Occupy movement, along with the American Nazi party, the American SWP and Communist party? While we agree with one aim - that of "decoupling" corporations from using government to enact anti-freedom legislation - a great deal of the movement, as far as we can tell, has been fomented in a top-down manner. IOHO, it is not an apolitical movement. - Oxner Staff
@MarkOxnerForCongress Wow, you guys are pretty clueless...just because others support us doesn't mean that we support them nor that we want their endorsement. Kim Jong Un could support your campaign, that doesn't make you communist sympathizers. Seriously, is the campaign staffed with 13 year olds? Really?
@MarkOxnerForCongress whoa! I didn't know that. And I don't believe it either. The Occupy movement has nothing to do with any political party. That I do know.
And don't you think it would be more respectful to address OUR president as President Obama and not Obama? I was raised to respect the President of the United States. You don't have to agree with him/her or even vote for him/her. But respect goes a long way. That's how I was raised.
@bevdid2 We respect the office of the Presidency. We reserve the right to lampoon the holder of it, as everyone else in social media and the country does. - Oxner Staff
@bevdid2 Yes, just as soon as Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert and Alan Grayson's friend Bill Maher regularly refer to Reagan, Bush, and all conservative presidents with the same title and respect. - Oxner Staff
@MarkOxnerForCongress Who says I haven't? Nice assumption. And yes, I see the maturity in your campaign and staff playing the two wrongs make a right card. I asked politely. I will gladly go on a scathing campaign to do all I can to turn voters against your candidate since you obviously have such little regard for Occupiers and are willing to use and abuse our movement for your own political needs.
@bevdid2 We are always happy to debate civil comments, but trolls are blocked and their comments are removed, especially if they have obscene language. The Obama For America PAC employes several people who do nothing all day long but post troll comments. Thank you for asking. - Oxner Staff
@MarkOxnerForCongress I would like to read those also. It's important to show all sides of a conversation. We are, after all, a country of free speech.
@bevdid2 Our policy in this regard is very simple; this is our youTube channel. Be civil (snarky or angry is okay, but obscene and shrieking is not). If you want to post something contrary to that, feel free to make your own youTube channel. Yes, we all have free speech, but we don't have the right to run into your living room and hurl obscenities at you against your will. - Oxner Staff
@MarkOxnerForCongress@MarkOxnerForCongress I understand that and I would not like shrieking either. However, this video has a scene that is close to obscene with the 2 in bathtubs and the woman discussing "stimulation". We know the ad. We know it's for Cialis...for erectile dysfunction. At least in the cialis ads the "problem" is discussed in a professional and mature way and not as a cartoon. I think Mr. Oxner would be better served without this "stimulation" bit.
@bevdid2 If we all lived our lives constantly being concerned about offending someone for something, then none of us would get out of bed. We reject the notion that we have crossed the line as you imply. Are you offended by Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert? Nothing we have done here is any more risque. In fact far less so, in our opinion. It simply lampoons the liberal viewpoint. - Oxner Staff
@TheWWFFProductions Made you look. You are most likely offended that a conservative is making fun of liberals in the same tone that liberals make fun of conservatives. Goose, gander, and so on. - Oxner Staff.
You invoke powerful images in the political commercial. What do you know of Anonymous and the fight for Free Humanity?
You speak of resisting SOPA, good. That is just one of many acts taken against the people. The very system is corrupt by the very fact that the vote is counted by machines, owned mostly by private corporations.
Will you make that your message? The fraud that is the electoral system? Do something about that and you will have proven yourself an ally of Free Humanity.
@ulgrum Mark Oxner is thoroughly anti-SOPA/PIPA and against government being manipulated by corporations, and vice-versa. Government should be relegated to protecting life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, as originally stated in the Constitution. Powers not specifically outlined in the Constitution belong to the citizenry via the States. - Oxner Staff.
@ulgrum Addendum: voter fraud is a very serious problem today, and we will watch like hawks and do our best to ensure that all voters are registered living humans voting once and once only, and that the vote is not manipulated through other electronic means to the best of our ability. Thank you for your question, as a result of it, we will be working up an "issues" post on this subject in the coming days. - Oxner Staff
The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008: It was signed into law on February 13, 2008 by President Bush with the support of a majority of Democratic lawmakers, as well as a minority of Republicans. The law provides an increase in the limits imposed on mortgages eligible for purchase by government-sponsored enterprises (e.g., Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac). The total cost of this bill was projected at $152 billion for 2008.[2]
@apclementin Mark Oxner was against Tarp I, and is against government-sponsored entities that can be turned and perverted into re-election tools for politicians. Such things, like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, inevitably backfire. - Oxner Staff
@MarkOxnerForCongress Fair enough. Speaking as am independent voter, I too agree that subsidies distort free markets. I disagree with a number of Obama's political agendas. But, I do like for the facts to be accurate on all fronts. Bush bailed out the banks. Also, Bush and Obama approved stimulus measures (both wastes of $). It seems that your ad claims that Obama approved TARP (bank/GSE bailouts) and therefore that makes what you state untrue. I understand Marks position, but facts are facts.
@apclementin No one is disputing that Bush started the bailout mania that Obama ran with. We could have put a picture of Bush in there as well to placate liberals, but he's been out of office for a long time now. There is stating facts, and then there is being pedantic. Would you have us put pictures of Barney Frank and everyone else responsible for the housing disaster as well into the ad? It would be hours long. - Oxner Staff
@MarkOxnerForCongress I share your same views on these topics. I'm neither liberal, nor conservative; I'm just an individual. But, your team could've easily omitted the bank bailout statement since it was FALSE and ran with the other topics that are TRUE. In fact, why not but Barney Frank and everyone else in the ad?? He was as much as fault as anyone else. You don't have to have an hour long ad. Just shoot straight from the hip and state the facts. There is no need to spin like a top.
@apclementin We could also put Henry Paulson in the ad. We could put everyone who supported TARP in the ad, from Herman Cain to Nancy Pelosi. Then the ad would be too long. Unfortunately, in life, not everything can be said simultaneously. Ads are ads, and position papers and "Issues" sections on websites are better suited to delving into the whole story. I think we will just have to agree to disagree on this point. - Oxner Staff
In 2008-9 the U.S. Treasury and the Federal Reserve System bailed out numerous very large banks and insurance companies, as well as General Motors and Chrysler. Congress at the urgent request of President George W. Bush passed the Troubled Asset Relief Program or "TARP", funded at $700 billion.
We'd like to welcome Senatorial Candidate Brian K Hill (R-CT) and Congressional Candidate Glenn Morton (R-MD) to the "Turn This Ship Around" ad! If you'd like to see their versions, you can find them in the "video responses" section of this page.

By the way Sarah Burke, the Canadian skier who died in Utah last week, had a hospital bill for half a million dollars which her parents must pay. If the accident had happened in Canada, well you do the math.
rynesandberg69 1 month ago
@rynesandberg69 The bill would have been far less if Congress, monopolistic health insurance companies, and the AMA had not strangled the supply of medical care in the U.S. via reduction in medical schools over the past few decades, while simultaneously driving up demand.

Mercury News 01/28/12:
"OAKLAND -- Occupy Oakland protesters broke into City Hall, stole an American flag from the City Council chamber and set it on fire Saturday night, punctuating a wild day in which police deployed tear gas, arrested more than 200 marchers and dodged hurling objects. Demonstrators spent the day trying to break into a convention center and temporarily occupying City Hall and a YMCA..."

@MarkOxnerForCongress To be fair, I think that speaks more about Oakland than the Occupy movement as a whole.

Fail!

You libtards on this site really do have to get a grip with reality. Not the one that's been spoon-fed to you by BHO, but the real one
We're not racists. We're realists.
In what reality do you live in that you think it's ok to call letting people keep more of the money they've earned a "tax cut".
In what reality do you live in where you think a government, funded by taxpayers, can possibly sustain itself when it taxes it's base out of work?
iaminfidel4life 1 month ago
@iaminfidel4life -----Let's see, where to begin? First, let's discuss reality, beginning at the neurological level. Pardon me please, not enough characters here, let's move on. Your use of libtard, a derivation of retard, does indeed make you a realist, albeit a racist realist. You are being real when your fear and anger overcome the reasoning part of your prefrontal cortex. You seem to fear black folks, the mentally challenged, anyone who is different politically.....J.Bob
JimboBillyBubbaBob 1 month ago
@iaminfidel4life You're not getting the point. Gradual taxation in in the Constitution, people that make millions upon millons of dollars, that they will ultimately sit on and not grow the economy with, need to pay as much as those who work at any other job. Also, when you spend your whole paycheck every month just to get by, your tax rate increases even more. Taxes pay for things, like infrastructure, military, elections.... Wake up.
rynesandberg69 1 month ago
@rynesandberg69 I don't know about you, but I believe that the American people should be allowed to keep the vast majority of the fruits of their labor, and only those functions which the constitution grants the federal government the authority to control, ought to be funded by tax dollars. - Oxner Staff

Politicians, especially here in the US have been robbing us blind for years with the help of so called special interest groups and corporations. The at every turn, we are at war.

MarkOxnerForCongress 1 month ago
@MarkOxnerForCongress Fair enough. Speaking as am independent voter, I too agree that subsidies distort free markets. I disagree with a number of Obama's political agendas. But, I do like for the facts to be accurate on all fronts. Bush bailed out the banks. Also, Bush and Obama approved stimulus measures (both wastes of $). It seems that your ad claims that Obama approved TARP (bank/GSE bailouts) and therefore that makes what you state untrue. I understand Marks position, but facts are facts.
apclementin 1 month ago
@apclementin No one is disputing that Bush started the bailout mania that Obama ran with. We could have put a picture of Bush in there as well to placate liberals, but he's been out of office for a long time now. There is stating facts, and then there is being pedantic. Would you have us put pictures of Barney Frank and everyone else responsible for the housing disaster as well into the ad? It would be hours long. - Oxner Staff
MarkOxnerForCongress 1 month ago
@MarkOxnerForCongress I share your same views on these topics. I'm neither liberal, nor conservative; I'm just an individual. But, your team could've easily omitted the bank bailout statement since it was FALSE and ran with the other topics that are TRUE. In fact, why not but Barney Frank and everyone else in the ad?? He was as much as fault as anyone else. You don't have to have an hour long ad. Just shoot straight from the hip and state the facts. There is no need to spin like a top.
apclementin 1 month ago
@apclementin We could also put Henry Paulson in the ad. We could put everyone who supported TARP in the ad, from Herman Cain to Nancy Pelosi. Then the ad would be too long. Unfortunately, in life, not everything can be said simultaneously. Ads are ads, and position papers and "Issues" sections on websites are better suited to delving into the whole story. I think we will just have to agree to disagree on this point. - Oxner Staff

US TARP and related programs:
In 2008-9 the U.S. Treasury and the Federal Reserve System bailed out numerous very large banks and insurance companies, as well as General Motors and Chrysler. Congress at the urgent request of President George W. Bush passed the Troubled Asset Relief Program or "TARP", funded at $700 billion.
