Nike Inflict Shoe Review

Hey man great videos. One question though, I really want to buy these shoes, but different websites give different sizing options. WrestlingGear recommends buying a size up, but eastbay says they run true to size. What do you recommend?

I hate to repeat myself. But At the time of the video, in December of 2009. Nike only made red for OSU, Blue and yellow were stopped for production for a full season before they brought back all the colors except Yellow/Gray( Which now stand as the most rare colorway) and they still ofcourse have the grey/black colorway.

i found the red pair at my local wrestling/running shoe store so they cant be that rare

At the time I made this video, Nike only released a minimal amount of this colorway, mainly to OSU wrestlers. Then this past year they started mass producing them again. Grey/Black, Red/Black, and Blue/Black are all now available at most places.

Just feel it out... Try wearing em a couple practices with straps, the dont put the straps up and tape them and see which feels better.. I preferred the strap they have on there.

Those come with Black laces, and Grey.... I had white in mine though, and it looked real nice.

They are similiar, both shoes have a very simple solid material upper which is light, the combat speed's soles are amazing and I would choose them over the inflicts, but there are die-hard inflict fans who would say the opposite and even go as far as saying the inflict soles are the best out of any shoe.... Totally depends on the wrestler and style.

The ankle strap was annoying so i just cut it off. But these are probably the best shoes on the market right now in my opinion.

Yeah, A lot of wrestlers cut that strap off, it got on my nerves too but I think the white "NIKE" across it looks tight with the black and red... Most wrestlers tape up their laces anyway.

The nike freeks are one of the most popular shoe thats why there all gone. I still have 1 nike freeks i haven't used yet and their the blue ones. The nike inficts are a really good shoe. And i got the osu ones at suplay.com

The Nike freeks are pretty horrible actually... If they were remotely good they would have started selling them again, you see them come up a lot more because most websites still have the first stock in and on sale too because no one really wants them... I have never seen anyone with freeks that they haven't been all taped up, they tear easily a lot like the awful speedsweeps..... Inflicts and Takedowns( which have the same sole as inflicts)

They stop making them after the very first year of production, they aren't good and won't last past a season or a freestyle season.... You can find them on flickr though if you really want a shoe like that.. your mistake man

Red use to be, When red first came out it was only released for the Ohio State team, now the yellow/gray pair are no longer made and are impossibly to get a hold of... When I got these, they were the last in stock Nike had when they still had the plan to not remake them but they ended up doing that...

I never said it was impossible, but difficult.. They are out there, but hard to find and expensive... On flickr there is only one pair in my size and they are going for more than 350

The come with red laces, and the ones in the shoes out of the box are black, All inflicts come with an extra different color of laces.

Nike fits a size smaller, so maybe a 9 or maybe even 8.5's... But those sizes will sell out fast.
