  • Bernie for President, goddammit!

  • Thank you Bernie!

  • I hope he runs as an Independent for 2012. I have had enough with Obama, (but still better than a republican.)

  • Thank god for Bernie Sanders, god bless this guy

  • You do outstanding work for us, Senator Sanders. Thanks.

  • I could listen to Senator Sanders talk all day. His message speaks right to the heart of what matters most to the average working person.

  • The only decent person out of 100 senators is not a Republican or a Democrat - he's a Socialist.

As my sensei said once: "I used to be a centrist. Since then, the country changed so much that now I'm considered an extreme leftist".

  • Obama's deal suck for most of us. I don't see how he can even call it shared sacrifice when he is asking the rich to contribute only 25%, to reducing the deficit. Why not ask them for only 10% or 2% (what a joke)? Democrats should stand up to Obama and tell him to stop negotiating if you can't be reasonable with the American ppl!!!!!!

  • I signed his letter to the President. Apparently there's 3 billionaires that disliked this video.

  • @darthdeth1 What's sad is they're most likely not billionaires, but think "just maybe" someday they might be, so don't make them pay. lol 98% of our nation isn't rich and with the policies in place, we never will be!

  • @nikkinew123: Oh gee, I'm supposed to feel sorry for these billionaires? They should be allowed to get a bigger yacht instead of the sick and poor getting help? GIVE ME A BREAK.

  • @judyleasugar97 ~I'm all for closing loopholes on things like Yacht! I just don't believe that Obama is a very good negotiator and what he calls shared sacrifice I call bullshit. He was asking for the middle class, poor and senior to give 80%, while the rich give only 20%. He even offered up social security. He pissed me off, with that one. But the republicans didn't take it!

  • @nikkinew123: I don't think Obama is perfect. If you're talking about the debt ceiling grand bargain, I don't know what he was doing. It may all be a chess game. It could be he knew they (the Tea Party) wouldn't accept his offer anyway and it was all for appearances (just like the Boehner bill, up all night working on it when they knew the Senate would never accept it). I'm not sure what anyone's doing.

  • Straight forward. No BS. It's why I like Senator Sanders.

  • Thank You. Mr. Sanders

  • Strategic default and then loss of sovereignty = The United States of America

  • @p71280 The actual dissolution of the USA may have occurred in 1999 by Obamas attorneys at Sidley Austin Brown and Wood where Michelle and he met in Chicago.I have the inside story. The strategic default is based on huge fraud with my co. of Zenadev and fraudulent estates of me deceased. There may be no need for all this hype of debt ceiling raised or die if we reverse the dirty deals linked to the banksters in the WH. Even SS has the death index record of Honey R Siegel. Honey R Siegal (not dead)

  • @HoneySiegalSurvivor Interesting.

  • Go Bernie Shout out for all who hear you message. Continue to get this message out and the President DOES NOT entertain any flexability when it comes to Republican enability to make the sacrafice. They want to come to the table and have nothing to offer Do Not stand for this!! They have been able to make Dems buckel under thier steal mate. Well I say stop all Government activity. Than let the American people know that they are responsible!! Make it happen

  • Bernie Sanders is standing up for us, the elderly, the disabled, the sick and the children. Vermont has the best health care system, the best Medicaid coverage, the most compassionate case workers, all thanks to Howard Dean during his tenure as Governor. Why is that? Because Vermonters understand that all citizens have rights, not just the very rich and the corporations. In spite of its imperfections, this is the best state to live in for independence and personal expression.

  • "Not a Dime" we need a lot more Senator's like Bernie !

  • Sanders <<<----- For President 2012 ! (We hope and pray)

  • If 95 % of the people would benefit from Sanders then why doesn't he get elected President ? Obama lied to us and we bought it because he was black.

  • Senator Sanders, your address was clear, forthright, and absolutely spot-on. Thank you.

  • Sanders, Al Franken, and the Maine senators (Snowe and Collins) are the only decent people left in the senate.

  • @deadbolt978 They have my vote.

  • Keep fightin' Bernie!

  • Thank you, Mr. Sanders! I voted for Pres. Obama. I am a senior. One cut in S.S. or Medicare, would be devastation to my family,,,,,,,and our Nations. People will lose their homes. Stores, Hotes, and Traveling, hotels, motels. NO change in age of retirement for our kids either! NO NO NO!

  • @kathleenkinkel45 you are the reason I studied political science and got involved in politics. As a young man I would like to tell you that you are not forgotten, even if by many...never by all. Teach your children, your grandchildren, share you knowledge, wisdom and priceless experiance. Life is not over when you are no longer young, you know this more than I. We need you. We need you all Seniors, Grandparents. We Love You, Will Fight With and For You. Give Us Your Guidance. No time like now.

  • Mr. Sanders we need sumone like you to tell those in power to do there job and work for the people -stop sending our jobs overseas-make sure this generation can finish college with out the greedy 4 year colleges ruining our kids futures which has happened to mine-Do not touch any social security and medicare.why dont they do something constructive like bring our jobs back and get the right people to run our programs.I wonder how they in power would feel if I took there kids education awayan ect

  • As always, you use hard facts, and explain simply how politicking is destroying the economy. Thank you for forthright thought and care in the face of nothing more than egotistical self advancement at the expense of the future of this society.

  • This may be the only politician I trust. It is too bad the rest of them have no backbone to call each other out whenever they shade, contradict and distort.

  • Thank-you for fighting for America Senator Bernie.

  • Thank you, Senator.

  • Right on, Bernie!!

  • Please run for President, Bernie. You are about the only Congressperson with any humanity. I took off my Obama 2012 bumper sticker today. Like Bush II, he has no conscience, but I do not see who can beat him. I think I may move to Canada.

  • Obama is rich. He doesn't care about the people. He is a great liar and will continue this charade of morals until we vote him out. President Sanders sounds nice.

  • Btw if my mother got $560 less per month she would have nothing, nothing for food or anything else.

  • @judyleasugar97

He meant $560 less per year then month. And for those of us barely scraping by (like your mother and my own,) $560 a year can be the difference between 3 meals a day every week for a year, and going hungry a few days out of the year.

  • @Silveressa: You're right, it was per year. Still a lot to people on a fixed income.

  • Yes! McConnell backs down. Can't wait to see what happens next.

  • i wouldnt mind if the government phased out social security as long as they simultaneously cut the income tax and completely did away with the IRS.

  • It's genuinely baffling to me how doing anything financially to the DoD, big business, and the wealthiest 5% is completely out of the question but we can torpedo social programs that are established and have been relied upon since FDR's time in office. This is why there is such an ideological divide between the "haves" and the "have nots." God bless America but this is a joke.

  • They're not ideologues. They're puppets of big money, as are most of the Democrats.

  • Sen. Bernie Sanders - the epitome of what JFK meant when he said "ask not what your country can do for you - ask what YOU can do for your country" Sanders for President 2012 !

  • GO GET EM BERNIE!!! SANDERS 2012!!!

  • Sanders 2012

  • Thanks Bernie, for being the one guy whose only agenda is the best interest of the American People.

  • This video is right on target.

  • Shared Sacrifice, that is our American Value.

  • Thank you Senator Sanders. It seems that you are the only one who is standing up for us seniors. I am 70 years old and I live on social security. God bless you. Jody Hoelle

  • Thank God for Senator Sanders

  • It's great to hear someone call out the President. If he caves to the right wing fanatics, don't go along with him.

  • This man is a true treasure to the people of this country. One of the very very few senators who are honest, forthright and down to earth and facing us in the trenches eyeball to eyeball. Teddy Kennedy would be so proud to see you standing up for us Senator Sanders.

  • @patty0130 What would Senator Kennedy have to say about the negotiations on today. He would be furious. Bernie reminds me so much of that remarkable man.

  • Excellent speech Sir. You're the only good politician left in Washington.

  • Thank you Senator Sanders. I depend totally on my social security and VA disability payments after being combat wounded at the age of 18 years old. I had to fight tooth and nail to get anything at all, and now Republicans even think Veterans disability is ok to cut...I feel betrayed and am totally disgusted with the entire system anymore. Guess I'll just file for bankruptcy and quit paying my bills..

  • Had he not put Social Security/COLA, Medicare, Medicaid, and the Schools on the block, I would suggest that Obama the Deceiver was up to something good. But watch out he is only looking at his reelection. My position is clear - should he touch Social Security/COLA, Medicare, Medicaid and the Schools he will not have my vote.

  • I think a Twitter campaign with #Dear Obama might be an interesting experiment.

  • ~ FAIR DEAL ? ~

  • Why isn't Bernie running for president?

  • Bernie Sanders - The most passionate US Senator since Ted Kennedy

  • proud to have signed the letter

  • Sen. Sanders is THE MAN!!

  • Thank you, Bernie Sanders. Thank you for not forgetting to be awesome.

  • With Obama acting more like a tea partier than an American, it is time for patriotic Americans to stand up and elect Bernie Sanders for president in 2012!

  • @beneastwoodenergy Except he is not running for president. We need to vote for a third party.

  • A TRUE HERO

  • You give me hope. Thank you.

  • Republicans were elected on a mandate of "stop spending" and smaller government. Congress has robbed social security and treasury is right now robbing government pensions. Personally I feel default would be good, very painful in the short term but in the long term would result in energy independence and solve employment resulting in a stronger more durable economy. This mainly because we would need to replace a false government funded economy with a real private one.

    Get real Bernie!

  • The last honest statesman (except for Dennis Kucinich) left in the Republic.

  • Bernie for President!

  • Only 45 views? We need millions...this man is fighting for our freedoms while most of our "citizens" watch some rap videos...

  • No raise for the last 2 years now probley no raise next year I know my drugs have to be splt to make them last and some meds can not be split . Its a sorry state

  • thank you for preserving humanity in the machine that we call "representative government".

  • Thank you sir
