  • "Let your fingers do the clicking, scrolling, and swiping."

Silly apple, our fingers are able to do that since the invention of the mouse.

  • Is this says to get used to?

  • love this

  • i have the magic mouse and i want to get this but is 70 dollars a good pierce for it

  • better to buy normal mouse 7 $

  • I have my macbook connected with a huge monitor, and have just bought the magic trackpad today. To be honest, after using this trackpad for a half hour, I feel so tired of keeping my hand in the air to tab on the trackpad. This trackpad is too big and without any places that can support my right hand angle. It is different than those trackpad on Macbook, which located in the middle of the laptop having side space supporting left and right hands arms. shall I sell it?

  • I still like the magic mouse better

  • FYI there is no official Windows driver. The Windows driver you're talking about is for Mac user who uses Bootcamp.

  • excellent summary (use, size, formfactor, functions) andm ost off all... good speed of review (which is rare, ususally it;s just too slow and uninformative).

  • nice background

  • is this finer then the magic mouse for adobe photoshop cs4/cs5?

  • @mybbhulp to be honest for photoshop i think mouse would be a better option.

  • Are there any new batteries included with it when buying it with a new iMac?

  • @Stephenforrestj Thanks for your reply. But now I have already received my new iMac. :-)

  • @HellYeahhhhhh Yeah :D

  • Does the Bluetooth mean you need internet access for it to work?

  • @KurdRaw apple's magic trackpad doesn't require internet to work. On any mac purchased since 2010 ALL of those computers have bluetooth 2.1 tech built in. If you or anyone you know is trying to use it on a windows based ONLY computer, you will THEN need a bluetooth 2.1 usb unit ( usually the size of your thumb nail or thumb something like that ) and there is a certain way & files inside the apple driver you download off of apple dot com website using 7 zip to extract the files needed. cheers

  • @KurdRaw continued from last part of my last reply. I have not REfound the third party software to use an apple magic trackpad WITH all of its gestures ( 3 finger swipe...4 finger swipe. etc etc etc) which is necessary to be able to use 90% or all of the gestures that you can use it with by default on a mac. if you know of this software ( it has the name control or panel or control panel in it I think) please let me know...thanks in advance.

  • @MriPhoneFTW They do have one there is one called hipporemote

  • should I buy it?

  • enjoyed the review man

  • What the hell is the point of this thing? Most people opt to plug a mouse into their laptop to AVOID using a trackpad. Why would anyone go BACKWARDS?

  • @elitefusion86186 Have you used Apple's giant multi-touch trackpads before? They're wonderful! I absolutely love them and this is a great solution for the people who want it with their iMacs, mac minis and Mac Pros. I personally wouldn't use it over a mouse ALL the time, but I do have one with my Mac Pro. But I use my Logitech revolution mouse when I need to do some productivity work or gaming.

The multitouch, such as two finger, three finger and four finger movements save a ton of time though

  • @elitefusion86186 the trackpad on my macbook pro is *really* nice, much smoother and easier to use than any mouse ive ever owned. The trackpad on my wifes dell is shit and horrible to use, imo a well made trackpad > mouse.

  • i got this yesterday and its awesome!

  • i saw some retard use this with his laptop at a starbucks...

  • I would really want to see someone play strarcraft 2 on this...

  • the trackpad looks like it has a little lag...is that so?

  • i don't know why they called it the magic trackpad, i mean i know it fits in with the magic mouse... but magic? it sounds a bit silly.

  • can you control an iPhone 4 with that or what happens if you connect it to the iPhone?

  • pointing is bad, it's absolute positioning and u must hold 1 finger on surface. not ergonomic . tnx for video. other vidios hide this basic action

  • xD Fail. 2:38 Nice video, thanks.

  • sweet vid. i bought mine and have not used my mouse at all. thinkin about giving that away as well

  • Thanks, good review.

  • good review

  • 4 fingers up is to the desktop

  • i really like it. i also think that its a little more comfortable to edit then the magic mouse.great review.

  • I'll stick with my mouse, but this thing could be handy for those using a Mac as a media centre.

  • What is the black covering on your MacBook pro?

  • what is the black covering on your MBPro?

  • personally do you prefer this over the regular mouse?

  • thanks for this review

  • i'm tempted to buy one but i guess i don't really need one....

  • Thank you for your full and interesting review

  • Nice but I could see this taking some time to get used to

  • great video. i dont own a macbook so i cant get one of these. but am addicted to apple so i watch your reviews all of the time.

  • WINDOWS COMPATIBLE.... OMG IM SO GETTING IT

  • great review Mike! i guess its not a must have but its pretty nice :)

  • im actually liking it more than i thought i would. im using it with my magic mouse, and i basically only use it for expose and show desktop...but i am more than happy with that.

  • Thanks Mike. One of the most informative videos I've seen about the Magic Trackpad in under five minutes. Do you think you can do a review on the Apple battery charger and the batteries themselves (they are suppose to last 10 years I've read)?

  • @danfrisco how's he gonna test to see if they last ten years? just saying, haha

  • @JML42691 well if they die out in 6 months or so, we know they dont last 10 years. lol

  • @danfrisco I recommend Eneloop. It's a proven brand that will be as good if not the same thing.

  • They should re-release the wireless keyboard with this attached to it with left and right handed configurations. The or make them more magnetic and the trackpad can be positioned to either the left or the right side.

  • @MacintoshUser1986 Yeah, that would be interesting, although third party vendors may have a solution for owners of the trackpad and keyboard in the near future.

  • @wwwinsanelygreatmac i was thinking the same thing. who is gonna come out with the first accessory to click these two devices together.

  • @thesavage042

A simple piece of tape under the keyboard/pad works for me!!!

  • @MacintoshUser1986 Theres a product you can but the clicks on the back of the keyboard and the trackpac so they are basically one. Its $30 on the apple store... You can find it in the keyboard and mice section! But i do agree with you!!

  • @MacintoshUser1986 Just get the magic wand by twelvesouth from amazon.

  • it's pretty cool

  • The annotation at 0:16 has a word spelt wrong, you spelt 'loo' not 'look'

  • @techkid1000 Thanks!

  • @techkid1000 he said look'

  • I don't know if you've tried. I know that the wireless keyboard can be paired with the iPad, but can the Track Pad also be paired? if not, There should be an app for that, lol

  • @Icedogg03 iPad can't pair with a mouse. The trackpad registers as a mouse.

  • @Icedogg03 Why would you want to use a touch-pad on a touch-screen device?

  • is it good for photoshop

  • @coked007

    It isn't a drawing tablet.

It's just another peripheral meant for navigating around your computer.

I don't know why there is all this commotion about it.

  • Ummm what's the point if you already have the magic mouse? It's this minus a couple multitouch features

  • There is a piece of software called BetterTouchTool (BTT). With BTT this trackpad really shines. I wouldn't think of buying this device unless I use it with BTT.

  • they should make a magic trackpad app for the ipad that does gestures and all

  • u should compare magic mouse w/ it

  • @movieluv94 I did actually, but cut it since it was dragging on.

  • Illusion lavs are making a Mac game called touch grind and its also iphone gsme and its going to use you're multitouch. That gsme Woolf be sweet on the magic trackpad.

  • @lines4you that sounds cool. thx

  • @lines4you Wait... So we're going to see appstore games working on the computer?

Interesting. Nice idea apple making this track pad. I see the potential now.

  • Nice and informative video.

  • cool video i understand what it is

  • Great review!

  • I will stick to my magic mouse :D

  • @Brian567899 I have both, and I must day that I will never touch my MAgic Mouse again. It is that much better. The low profile of the Magic Mouse was always awkward for me. I'm glad I have this to replace it.
