Wow, If I didn't see the title I would think this was Ian Curtis singing. I saw one comment that "as long as hit the notes right" - considering Ian was always perfectly off-key, that's hard to say. Peter hit the same notes Ian did on the original recording, which is harder to do than if he hit the "right" notes. Mr Murphy must have studied this hard. I just wish i could have seen this show, is this from a Joy Division "reunion"? it looks like them behind him, not Love and Rockets behind him.
Joy Division were understated! a bit awkward, a bit shy and didn't really know how great they were an that made them all the better for it. They were not as showy as this, it was the music and the emotional quality and not putting the ego and rock sensibilities first. I'm so sick of 80s has been personalities who think they are IT!
I know that it probably won't happen, but I think that Trent should have Peter on some sort of collaboration NIN album where they cover NIN and Bauhaus songs together. I just got a bootleg of all their Live Radio station performances and I think that Peter would be a good fit for NIN...
I think that Peter's voice doesn't fit to this song at all. Trent's expression makes words of this song sound authentic. Peter's vocal is like...hmm...like he didn't know what is it about and his voice is kinda breaking at the end of every line. Although Peter sings great in different songs. And Trent sounds great especially in his own songs :)

Peter performing as Ian on a great cover, how awesome is that?
Dont get me wrong, I love the original as I love this cover. NIN, Bauhaus and Joy Division are three of my favorite bands.

This is a Joy Division song not Nin Inch Nails. The NIN version on the crow soundtrack is a cover.
