Well, Trey had a bit of a problem for whatever reason, but he recovered well, made a joke about it (Fish grinned) and then got it together with Page for the serpent deflectors and cushion convectors. Well, Trey had a bit of a problem for whatever reason, but he recovered well, made a joke about it (Fish grinned) and then got it together with Page for the serpent deflectors and cushion convectors. What's the problem here? I like (at 3:00) when Page is laughing at Trey, and then Trey smiles because he realized that Page just bailed him out on the lyrics.
Someone downthread said it best "A dust arose and clogged Trey's nose" LOL.

though drugs inevitably were Trey's downfall, I think the the lyrics and vibe are so peculiar and irregular that slips happen. Unitl the slip up he was just fine. he could have just quit and that would have been lame. he plowed through it and thats rock and roll. Too many people are looking back through the lens the wrong way which often happens when drugs are involved. Weak minded people want to discredit things with hindsight, making the artist seem like a loser. chill the fuck out y'all!

i half agree i with you and 100% agree with vorplay, moderation is everything, you have to love your family and friends and not be selfish with your life, but at the same time, YOUR life is about having your fun, doing what you love to do, and trey is making great music and having fun while doing it, so to him its right, and none of our opinions matter...just like my opinion doesnt matter in your life....

you guys have got to give him a break. No matter who you are or if you are clean or not, at some point you will forget the words to a song. Everyone has done it. Especially when you play as many shows as he has.

as much as I loved my crazy experiences with this band and still love so much of their music, it actually makes me sad to see Trey completely off his rocker. it is damn funny the way he handles it sometimes, but he had soooo much talent which has been squandered by his bad habits. i wonder where the drugs stopped inspiring his music and shaping his decline. he just don't play like he used to.

a close friend lived by that motto, i feel like Trey would. I'm seeing him 3 times the summer, and I can't even contain how excited I am.
he doesn't play like he used to, because after Cypress, Phish hit the pinnacle of their reign, and it just couldn't, and won't ever be able to get better than that.

You can blame it only on drugs. Phish did a lot of shows with different sets each night. That means they have a lot of songs to remember can you really blame him for forgetting a verse every now and then?
