@ Jason.... Not applicable. Put it this way, my neighbor bought his house NEW, and did not know all the history, We also found out that even though he purchased his house new, it was actually lived in by the city building commissioner (at that time) for a year and a half! There is all kinds of shady stuff we have uncovered.
This is your cousin Jason.. Have you considered looking into the real estate agency that sold the house to you without disclosing all the facts.. just wondering ,, probably be better if you answered back via email or facebook ... considering ...
There are 20+ holes drilled every few feet in the basement floor, and in the garage... There is no dirt touching the bottom of the floors... It is a complete void. We have checked with "mud jackers" , and it is VERY costly, and no guarantee at all. Don't know about you, but I'm not to keen on investing $30K to "bandaid" a problem that is potentially bigger than anybody knows. To top it off, it would have to be disclosed, and if I were looking at buying a home and saw that, I would run fast!
With more thought on the matter, why not call in a mud-jacker to drill holes and pump a slurry to fill in the voids under the home after the plumbing is fixed of course. The home lasted 20 years the first time...probably last another 20 or more with the mud-jacking. And from my research its not that costly, maybe the owner can even do the preep work like drilling holes where they mark them to be drilled. Maybe because this is a news story a company will help out for a free news spot. Good luck.
Thank you all for taking a look. We do have legal representation. This has been a VERY long, expensive, and stressful situation for both my wife and I. Myself and others feel that the City is doing nothing but wasting TAXPAYER DOLLARS to fight us, drag this out, and not righting this WRONG they ARE RESPONSIBLE for.... They think by dragging this on, we are going to just give up.... WRONG! We are not going down without a fight!
@HOLEunderHOUSE Call mud-jackers in your area. See if they will do the work discounted, as the local news probably mention how a local company steeped up...heck might even do it for free. Worth calling around and meeting with people.
In this case, I think I would let the bank have it back and make it be THEIR problem. But alas people are worried about credit ratings and what have you. At a certain point paying $1,500 a month is a wast of money. Mayor doe snot THINK its the cities problem till a bunch of people walk away from their homes, and the places can not be resold with this type of coverage without people knowing about it. Abandoned homes end up making the area look like the ghetto...does the Mayor want that to happen
Its a shame to see such terrible things happen to the nicest people. Im glad the mayor can go home to his house while others are forced from their homes in his town. Obviously life is not fair, but if I can think of two people who dont deserve this, its Ryan and Erin. They would both drop everything to help someone in need. Yet they cant get a break what so ever.
This is horrible Ryan and it angers me personally to see you still dealing with such, I admire the strength it has taken, but enough is enough! Man you in no way, shape, or form deserve to fight a battle like such regarding YOUR HOUSE.
Stop by the engineer's office, as they would have had to be involved in the redirection of the lagoon - find the clause that states something about it not being used residential or not to build on it. Then find out where the other lagoons were and talk to the residents. It will give you more weight. Good luck with Erin B. (smile)
Matt Unrein, City Adminisitrator stated "There were thirty lagoons in the city of Arnold at one time. There are zero lagoons in the city of Arnold now." It makes you wonder, where are all of those other old lagoons located and what is built on them?
If you were mayor of a small town, would you allow citizens of that town to be displaced out of their own homes? Hell no you wouldn't . Because you like me , are not a selfish arrogant political swine who's been corrupted already.
Mr Mayor, you are a very arrogant, unfeeling s.o.b. For not helping this couple and wanting to get on with business so you can get home for the evening.Obviously you don't care and I hope your house is the next to start having problems.
That mayor Counts is so obviously lying to cover his own hide. look at how he keeps fiddling with his glasses when he is confronted with how he and his administration is letting let these citizens down.
Did you see how his eyebrows went up and eyes widened when he first glanced over at the camera? That was fear, he is afraid and he should be -- he's not doing his job, perhaps he should be voted off his seat for being so callous and negligent to the needs of his constituents.
They should have never built in this area in the first place. It is the city or counties fault. they should have never approved the building permit etc... they are responsible imo. nest of luck ryan!!!
Don't back down, stick to your guns. Everyone knows the government is full of sh*t and will continue to hide from their responsibility. Get your story out on a national level so people can see what is going on. Good luck.
