I got some weird looks from my friends as i nearly freaked out in the cinema,as his name appeared at 'Music by Ludovico Einaudi' even it was only in the Intro of the movie 'Intouchables' i knew this is going to my new favorite movie.
Though this is good, I get the impression that people who have never played an instrument or never taken a compositon class thinks this is epic. It's enjoyable, but really, there's not much to this at all. Repeat, repeat, repeat of the same 4 bars, with a little variation. Comp 101.
@skatergurljubulee Oh, come off it. I cannot play an instrument and have never taken a composition class, but I can assert with confidence that this song is epic simply for its ability to mold the emotions of those listening to it. Some of the most enduring and beautiful music in history lacks the complexity of more nuanced pieces. Thomas' "Do not go gentle into that goodnight" relies heavily on repetition but speaks more firmly to my emotions than the entirety of the Iliad. Good is good.
@skatergurljubulee I have (on paper) grade 7 flute, and am beyond that as I've been playing for 17 years. I play piano and guitar. I compose. And Einaudi, to me, is pure expression and beauty, despite the simplicity. Not all of his compositions are simplistic - and repetition, as long as it isn't ad nauseum, is nothing to be frowned upon. I think you're incredibly narrow minded; after all, isn't the very crux of music about expression, and effect?
@skatergurljubulee See all that music to the right? Click on any of it and see if your opinion is still the same. His music is complex in the emotional sense. He is the Santana of the classical world, where others use words to portray feelings he uses instruments. A much more challenging feat, and here is does an amazing job.
I was lucky enough to see Ludovico when he came to the UK in 2009 during his Nightbook tour, and it was (and will always be) one of the BEST nights of my life. I shook his hand afterwards and got his autograph on my entrance ticket, which is right next to my desk now... ready to give me inspiration, meaning, or purpose, whenever I feel at a loss within myself. Ludovico, may you live forever.
Compose 4 bars, repeat them without any consistent changes, and... voilà :) le jeaux sont fait! Why make any effort? Life is simple and shitty - i suppose.
Is warning me something, anything can happen. Such as climate change. Time is running, like the money, everything is changing, nothing will be as before ... Increases sea level, too many droughts, hurricanes ... Pffffff....We are killing everything, and if we don't changeour mind, it will be the end.
2:32 Look that tree... It's so beautiful. Like the life. Our life is beautiful, and I want the same life for my children. They haven't got the blame. 3:39 This is the present, we can change it.
Well I didn't hear him first on an advert, it was Le Onde on Classic FM - i liked it so much that I got up in the middle of the night and downloaded it. I now really notice his work when it is in adverts, like Primavera in the advert for Strangeways.
Great piece from Einaudi - I am learning to play it at the moment, but 2:35 - 3:37 is tough :-(
who could anyone dislike this piece? like really... I know people always say that... but seriously this is one of the most breathtaking pieces I've ever heard
I got myself the Nightbook album today and I instantly loved the title track. The best I've ever heard from him, it even puts Primavera in the shade. Every song i listen to makes me think of a different scenario.

@RosieToes61 Yes, I have the same experience. I think it is because of a composition from Philip Glass, it is familiar with his way of composing, minimal music, repeating phrases, even the rhythm is similar, also the orchestration, all is very much "Philip Glass", his violin concerts. But this is new, and so nice, so beautiful also, the Cello is great, the Piano is playing for Joy and Happiness with the Cello. Great composition Ludovico Einaudi! Thank you for the upload, TommiDarko.
Haha awesome the amount of people that found this song because of the Walking Dead advert! Great music, also really loved his piece that was used in the movie This is England. :)
This bit of music reminds me of the notion of cause and effect. Like someone doing something then thinking " Oh that was a bad idea" then seeing the knock on effect and it being to late to reverse it all.
no it's not the one i meant, I'm talking about the music which played in the background for scenes when he is with his wife or thinking about his wife, it's this soft melodic piano music.
