  • this was wen da knicks would never win chi town....a rare win

  • haha i remember this game, jordan came out shooting like crazy at the start cos he needed 65 points for a 30 ppg season average...

  • Comment removed

  • micheal jordan is overrated

  • who the fuck are u saying his overrated!

  • It was only a joke pal.. We all know how great he was..

  • oh lol i feel stuiped

  • Michael Jordan is overrated

  • @etherodromos You are a dumbass because MJ got the record for the most scoring titles, the highest scoring avg, and the most NBA Finals MVPs...how can a man get that and be overrated??? OLe dumb nigga! MJ is the greatest!

  • @etherodromos not as overrated as you

  • This denied my Bulls chance at back-to-back 70 win Regular Seasons. I took this loss hard and could not sleep that night due to it. I wanted the 1997 NBA Playoffs to start so I could erase this bad memory.

  • Good. I am glad that the Knicks denied the Bulls back-to-back 70 wins, just as the Knicks would have denied a Bulls three-peat that year if the evil hand of The Don (David Stern) did not get in the way. Stern saw the opportunity to sweep away the threat to the MJ empire and did so decisively.

  • In the Finals, Knicks vs Jazz. Knicks had beaten Utah in the reg. season. It would be a war, but the ring would go to the Knicks. They had finals experience 3 years ago while the Jazz didn't. I think that without this Jewish Troll, David Stern, the Knicks would be the 1997 champions. If anyone doubts it reply to me.

  • What a facile explanation of a sour knicks fan. If there players fight, they shouldn't have recieved any punishment. Of course if Ewing was present in Game 6 they would have won, and then went on to defeat the bulls 4 times in the playoffs. (Something they did only once in the 1990s! in a 7 game series, without Jordan and a victory from questionable false foul call in Game 5 against Pippen. Pippen should have punched H. Davis, and the bulls should have blamed the loss of the series on Stern.

  • 1st: In 1994 the Bulls (55-27) without Jordan were by proof as good as the '93 Bulls (with Jordan 57-25) that's why the Knicks didn't sweep them. Even in that 1994 series the Knicks lost Harper, their starting point guard for a couple of games while the Bulls lost an unknown Jo-Jo English.

  • If you believe any team with Michael Jordan is just as good without him, then you represent a minority of opinion among, dare I say, the world?I thought MSG fans would show more respect for the man who holds the record for the most points scored in a single contest at the Garden, 55. Clearly, a player the knicks consisently tripled teamed (to no avail) does not make a difference when he is gone. Also, a record does not prove how good a team is, the 1999 Knicks should have proven that to you.

  • Harper was 10 times better in the playoffs than the reg. season. In the Finals he would be the MVP if the Knicks would win. And Jackson didn't have any "consumable" big guy to take out along with Oak or Ewing. He had a guard, to take out with Harper, Starks or even Davis as you weirdly say

  • . The Bulls had 4 Centers that year, 5 if you include Stacey King who often played the role. Anyway I am not interested in humoring your conspiracy theory anymore since it is fantastic and contradictory to your earlier points. For example, if the Bulls were a good team in 1994 as you say they were, why did Phil have to conspire to take out harper? Why was he woried , that his great team that had already defeated the Knicks three times in the playoffs and were the defending champions.

  • Crap: You say that since the Bulls were a good team in 1994 why Jackson conspired? We laugh here. He ALWAYS conspires and talks trash in the interviews to piss off opponents, even if he plays the Clippers in the playoffs. Wouldn;t he conspired against the most dangerous team to beat him, the Knicks?

  • Um, maybe because the Bulls lost the first two games and were on their way to losing Game 3 at home as well?

  • Phil Jackson, this mega-bitch, put English to ignite the fight with Harper or Starks. Why didn't the Bulls loose a basic player there, but they lost their worst? If this bitchiness wouldn't have happened, the Knicks would take game 4 and pass 4-1 cleanly (without Pip's call).

  • If the Knicks in 1994 hadn't lost Harper, something that Phil Jackson had planned and had prepared his players accordingly, the Bulls instead of winning game 3 at the buzzer 104-102, most probably would have lost game 3 and game 4 (with Harper). Have you seen the fight? Who hit first? English went at Harper, pushed him, and then Harper punched him, and then it all started. Without that, Knicks-Bulls 4-0.

  • Well, thats the first I've heard of that conspiracy, Phil would have been wiser to take out Starks, Oakley, Davis or Ewing. Harper averaged 8.6 points per a game in the regular season, and was overall the Knicks 7th highest point scorer. Also you have already contradicted yourself from your first point. "thats why the Knicks didn't sweep them" then you say "Knicks would take game 4 and pass 4-1" with Harper. Ok? Then you decide to make up some new game 5 "without pips call"?

  • I didn't contradict, I said that although Harper was thrown out of game 3, say that the Bulls would win that at the buzzer as they did, then the Knicks would win 4-1 (with Harper). If Harper (and English) was not ejected, I say they would sweep the Bulls.

  • Not only you are wrong and invalid, supporting that the Bulls won easily and forgettably, while 4 out of the 5 games were buzzer-beater thrillers, but you say ridiculously "yea, the Bulls committed murder" while I have listed 5 - 6 incidents of complete robbing against other players and in favor of Jordan. Of course you cannot and you will not comment anything on them...

  • If I refuse to answer some of your points, its because I do not have the facts, or I do not consider your "arguments" worthy of respect. In sum, you remind me of a fundamentalist preacher, arguing for "purity" or "clean" games, that you alone have the special eye to read into the past and defend the honor of Nba justice. Well I am happy you have such a priviliged view of things that forgets the possiblity of refrees as humans capable of mistakes in judgement which equally effect both teams.

  • 2nd: You say refs are humen who make mistakes against both sides. Hahahahaha. So they have been injust to Jordan the same number of times they were injust to others in favor of Jordan! They have made buzzer beater calls equally injust to the Bulls and their opponents! Is that what you just said? You create pure laughter and nothing else!

  • In 1996 the Bulls won games 1 and 2 with extremely false calls at the last seconds by the refs, the Knicks won game 3 and the Bulls again got ref help in the last seconds of game 4. They only won game 5 cleanly in that 96 series. Have you seen those games?

  • I have seen that series, but its been 12 years since I watched it. I didn't develop some neurotic obession with the Bulls easy and forgetable victory over the Knicks that year. Maybe you are right, the Bulls commited murder.

  • As expected, you don't answer to the point of my arguments, but you answer like a spoilt cunt with abstract goatshit. Who developed a neurotic obsession? I just mentioned a past fact: The refs slaughtered the Knicks in games 1,2,4 and especially at the buzzer.

  • Well if one comment qualifies as not answering any of your other so called "arguments" then you are justified. There is really no need for your cheap cynicism and boorish comments about my character that are really besides the point of the argument.

  • I have that 1994 game 5 with Pip's foul on Davis. The ball was indeed in the air when Pippen fell on him. Normally the refs didn't call a foul like that, when the shot is already made. But this is not a rule, it is up to them. In a crucial point like that, when there were 4 seconds left and Knicks down 1, YOU CALL IT, CAUSE IT IS A FOUL! So this call is not robbing or injust. Pippen committed pure foul hitting arms and body right after when the ball left Davis' hands!

  • Are you F*ckin kidding me saying the Bulls beat the Knicks by ref help in 1996????? The 1995-96 Bulls were the greatest team ever setting records for winning. 72-10 REG Season and 15-3 in playoffs making it 87-13 overall and an NBA Title, thats the greatest for overall wins in a season, least amount of losses in a season, and Winning PCT. in a season. In fact the Bulls did not play very well against Knicks and still nearly swept them.

  • The Bulls did beat the Knicks with ref help in 1996. The traveling call on John Starks at the end of game 4, just before he hit what would have been a game-tying three pointer, was completely bogus. And Knicks fans still haven't forgotten the 32 point thrashing the Knicks layed on the Bulls in the regular season. If the series went 2-2 instead of 3-1 after 4, anything could have happened.

  • In reply to "1996 ref help"--Yall are such homers. I mean wow, just wow. A---It was a travel, B--The one game yall won in OT may I add we played like total crap and still took your best game of the season to OT, C---We fair and square won the series 4-1 with Toni Kukoc--6th MAN OF THE YR--INJURED THE WHOLE SERIES. Agains 72-10, no one in NBA history could beat that team in a best of 5, 7, etc. So don't feel bad about bowing out against the better team.

  • Y'all? That's quite intelligent.

And no, it wasn't a travel in Game 4 and no, you guys did not play like crap in Game 3. Didn't Jordan score 46 in that game? I guess that's crap.

Perhaps no team could beat the Bulls best of five or best of seven because the NBA didn't allow it? Of course, YOU are such a homer that you will never see it or admit it.

  • Yall is how we speak in the hoods of Chicago. Anyways how can I be the homer when I am just stating the fact that my team beat your team 4 games to 1 in the 1996 NBA East Semis??? Yes Jordan had 46 but the rest of the team played like cra, if it weren't for Jordan's 46 PTS then Bulls may not have forced OT. If you want to brag on me then talk about 1994 when your team beat mine and I have accepted that defeat, but in 1991, 1992, 1993, and 1996 my team beat your team in the playoffs.

  • In the 1996 Finals, when McMillan returned in game 4, things turned round due to his awesome leadership at both ends. If he had played from game 1, the result would have been different now. In game 2 the Bulls won at the expiration.

  • True McMillan being out was hard for a great Sonics team (maybe the greatest team never to win an NBA Title) but Ron Harper was hurt all series too and in fact missed Games3,4,and 5. People can cry all they want about injured players and other nonsense all they want but the fact of the matter is that 1995-96 Bulls were 87-13 Overall record with an NBA Title, and thats the best W-L and WIN PCT. EVER.

  • The Knicks always gave hard time to the Bulls in the playoffs, no matter if the were the 8th seed and the Bulls the 1st.

So in 1997, when the Knicks were in position to win anybody whenever they should, would have punked the Bulls 4-2. That's the odds.

  • Yes in 1991 Bulls were a 1 seed and Knicks were an 8 seed and Oh thats right we swept you guys out 3-0. Let me guess your excuse here: if it were a best of 7 series that Knicks team would have been the first team in NBA History to comeback from an 0-3 deficit. Right?--Is that your next goofball excuse.

  • 1991???? Get serious man!!!! How about 1982 playoffs?????

That 1996 game 3 was not a miracle win. It was PURE KNICK DOMINANCE, and to my opinion the best NBA game ever played. In game 4 the same happened and the Knicks were about to clinch it, but after Starks hit a huge 3 the ref called travel and he cancelled (!!!) the three!!! Chaos!!

In games 1 and 2 the Bulls won off the window coming from behind pushed by the refs. So don't tell me crap about Knicks winning only 1 by chance.

  • Bulls won Games 1 and 2 by coming from behind??? Did you even watch those games, The Bulls lead for the majority of those games. And by the way if Game 3 was PURE KNICK DOMINANCE and you only beat a bad team performance (not counting MJ's 46) by the Bulls iN OT at home without Toni Kukoc playing for the Bulls then you just rested my case that hands down the Bulls were miles ahead of the Knicks in 96 as shown by a 5 game series win for ChiTown.

  • Pure Knick dominance. The Bulls were trailing for like 45 minutes. Rodman had been a punk in the hands of Oakley and Mason who were throwing him around like a bad bitch. Oak was bruising him everywhere and kept on grabbing offensive boards over him. Starks was hitting from everywhere for 30 points. Harper made a magic steal on Jordan, and1 style. MJ hit 8 points in 90 seconds and the game went to OT.

MJ went for a winner against Oak, but Oak just dived and stole the ball off Jordan's hands.

  • Oh something else I forgot to mention is Jordan played the whole series with a slightly injured back. I give the Knicks credit for giving us their best shot but if the Bulls would have played like that against the Sonics in the NBA Finals then Seattle would more than likely be holding the 1996 NBA World Championship Trophy. As mentioned you want to put me in my place then talk about 1994 but don't be a sore loser about 1991, 1992, 1993, and 1996 playoffs.

  • We speak about 97, not 96.

In 96 the Bulls were theoretically so better than the Knicks, but STILL they found it hard, winning gms 1,2,4 with crapy calls in the last minutes. Also in the reg. season the only blowout they had, in their 10 losses, was against NY 104-72 (!!!!) and they were playing with a FULL SQUAD.

  • I still Crack up with all of yall saying Knicks lost to Bulls due to crappy calls. If anything the calls went the Knicks way all series long and we still spanked them in 5 games and the one game they beat us was with a miracle OT win. Yes that REG Season game Knicks just took it to the Bulls for that one game.

  • In 97 against Heat the Knicks superiority was clear. In the fight Knicks like Ewing&Houston didn't leave the bench, while others like LJ went in the milee just to pull people appart. In such cases the NBA rule was that it is up to the officials to judge the intentions of the players and the overall factors regarding the fight and punish accordingly. But they posed the most extreme case of the rule, they disqualified Ewing ie just because of standing on his feet at the bench and not sitting down!

  • in 1997 reg. season, Knicks-Bulls were 2-2. The Knicks' team of 1997 would beat the 1997 Bulls in the east finals in 6 or 7 games. Pip was locked by Oakley easily in the playoffs and Rodman could not guard LJ that year. Houston was not far behind Jordan and he would score big time, and Starks would restrict Jordan in the defence a lot. Ewing would abuse the Bulls' big men as he has done all his life.

  • Okay your arguement of Knicks winning over Bulls in 1997 makes more sense than that idiot arguement of Knicks beating them in 1996 (which by the way Bulls beat them in 5) but 1997 still would have been Bulls on top in probably 6-7 games. Yes I agree Knicks would have beat the Heat without the suspensions. But not the Bulls. You are such a freakin Homer. Whats your excuse for the Knicks currently sucking this season? Let me guess they could take the Celtics or Cavs n the playoffs if they met

  • What does the Knicks performance this season have to do with 1997? The Bulls arent exactly lighting the world on fire either: last I checked the two teams were close in the standings.

As for 1997, the Knicks and Bulls went 2-2 in the season series, but the Knicks actually *outscored* the Bulls over the four games. And the Knicks really did ratchet up their play in the playoffs. The Knicks most likely would have given the Bulls their toughest challenge that year and had a good chance of winning.

  • This season???? What the fuck, punk ass cunt, have you substituted your brain with vaginal fluid???

In 1997 playoffs the Knicks were the heavy favorite. The Bulls were very lucky to dodge them.

In 1996 the Bulls were stronger in the reg. season, but it showed up that in the layoffs they could beat the Knicks ONLY by the help of the refs (re-watch games 1,2,4). The Bulls won clearly and fairly only game 5 of that series.

In 1996 the Bulls were the favorite while in 1997 the Knicks were.

  • Look I am not gonna get in a name calling contest with you so grow up. But anyways how can a team that went 57-25 be favored to win it all when you had the Bulls at 69-13, JAzz at 64-18, and Heat at 61-21? And I watched the whole Bulls-Knicks 1996 series and if anything the refs helped yall out and we still smoked yall in 5 games without a key player the majority of the series. But this arguement is done because we won it all in 96 and yall, thats right got beat by us.

  • Regarding 1997, Utah, Miami and Chicago had better records, but:

The Knicks were a team with recent playoff history and they were a different story in the playoffs (remember 96). Huge experience. Also, these 3 teams with 60+ wins, HAD BEEN OUTPLAYED by the Knicks in the reg. season. All of them.

Miami, 61-21, lost 3-1 in the reg. season and was about to go home 4-2 in the playoffs. So imagine with the bulls.

  • Lol, okay sure about 1997. Whatever you say. But I guess we will never know because your team wasn't smart enough to keep your guys on the bench during a fight.

  • That year the Knicks had the best team of all. If this fuckin filthy jewish rat, David Stern, had not punished the Knicks (who he hates cause they're a tradditionally black team), the Knicks would pass easily the obstacle of Miami 4-2 (they almost won the Heat in gm 6 without Ewing, Houston, Ward) and we would see one of the best series in the history of sports Bulls-Knicks ECF

  • You just exposed yourself to be a rediculous, (racist), conspiracy nut. Nice job man.

  • "nice job": this is what your mother keeps on saying to me when I finish inside her.

  • I have this game on VHS = another reason I will never get rid of my VCR (LOL)

  • I was at this game man! I was so disapointed that they lost lol.

  • I was to but I'm kinda glad they did lose this game cause they would have probably played the Knicks in the second round

  • I guess this was somewhat of vengeance for the previous years playoff loss..
