As a walmart customer and employee this does piss me the fuck off. I go for lunch and wanna go in the fast lane and some idiot has a buggy full of shit, i'm like WTF. What's worse is that at the one I work at the employees of these lanes are told, by management, that are NOT allowed to tell someone they can't check em out, no matter how many items they have. If they do they can be wrote up--that's the kinda BS walmart does.

thts one of the biggest things ive noticed about walmart. the line tht appears to be the shortest also manages to be the longest line! hell if i have 20 items or less, ill go ahead and goto the regular line and be checked out and headed for the door and as im walking out and looking at the 20 item or less line, the same person tht was in line would still be there waiting to be checked out!

Trust me, the associates are even more aggravated that you are: Cause not only are they FORCED to take that customer, but also all of the others that are already pissed off behind them. As all the other associates on here have said, it is per management (and maybe policy as well, but I would have to look that up first to be certain). One poor kid at my store turned down someone with a full carriage one day and was FIRED the next for doing so.

I am a cashier at Walmart and I can tell you it pisses us off too when people do this! We WISH there WERE monitors for such things. But company policy is we HAVE to take them in the lines regardless of how many items they have. Its corporates fault, not the cashier. Its a particular pet peeve of mine and a lot of the customers do this BECAUSE they KNOW we can't turn them away. So please don't blame the cashier. We have to follow policy. Instead PLEASE call 1800walmart , Tell them. Friends too.

You're not the only person who submitted a video about this problem, there's another one that submitted a similar complaint like this too.

It does not just happen with just Walmart, grocery stores also do this too.

I get tons of excuses (because i'm a cashier) such as:

1. "I didn't see" (oh yeah, you saw all right, you're just too stupid to admit it)

2. Some customers will buy 2 or 3 of the SAME ITEM, and then tell us it's "One". (Seriously, guys, Do you have to re-watch "Sesame Street"?)

5. "I only got (x amount of items) items. Can I still come in?" (It depends on how many items you have. Enter at your own risk.)

I feel bad for the kid you went off on. I've worked in customer service at a grocery store, and trust me, people can be SO rude. He's probably used to people just walking all over him because 1. he's a kid and 2. he's working at Walmart in customer service that he doesn't even bother anymore.

But let me tell you, there is nothing more satisfying than having someone act incredibly rude to you for no reason, keeping your cool, smiling and saying "Have a nice day" and seeing their attitude change.

I was looking for a summer dress, when I pulled out a dress. On the back side it was stained (let's just say the last person who tried it on, was on their on time of month). They put the ddress back on the rack. That was nasty.

The worker told me, if I didn't like it, just don't buy from the store.

I never liked self checking out line. I'm just use to going up to the regular lines with a cashier there so that i know i'm getting the exact change back. Many moons ago i had a part time cashier/check out job and sometimes i was on the express till. I saw it with my own eyes (always women) they would look up at the sign sayin 10 items or then when they think i wasnt looking load up the belt supa fast with 2 handbasket of stuff. i would switch off the belt when they were done and make them remove every last item refering them to the sign and line of angry customers. Never failed, just doing my job. My badge said 'here to help' :p lol. Great vid

Girl, WalMart does seem to have the WORST customer service EVER!!! My husband and I were there one evening picking up a few items. With him deciding he wanted to pick up some extra things 'just in case', we were slightly over 20 items. So I--being the cautious, play by the rules person that I am-- tell him to just go to the regular check-out counter (we probably had like 26 items in the cart). He says 'no' and proceeds to the 20 item or less aisle.

But she speaks up and tells me that if she wasn't in a good mood she would have made us go to another aisle because her shift was almost over! The nerve! I work with the public on a daily basis and generally speaking, you have to set your attitude and personal affect aside when dealing with other people. They pick up on nastiness and carelessness in a heartbeat and your attitude then becomes theirs. You are such a dear, BTW!!!

hey koko: walmart is NOT my favorite store, although for a few things i will shop there. i manage a retail store, and i have to tell you, customer service seems to be in name only at the various walmarts i have ever been in. sale associates starting at you like they don't want to help or answer a question, they won't acknowledge you and act put out if you so much as look like you're going to ask them a question.

Thats right i am right behind u and girl, I wouldve spoke up too because I am also outspoken, i had an instance like that at the commissary a few weeks ago myself but i walked up to the lady before she started scanning her 100 items in the 20 item section and said "can i go ahead of u before u ring up all that stuff" and she said yes, i shouldve told the monitor like u did girl....i feelz u completely!
