I am a girl and when I was younger I hated girls stuff, and I wore all of my brother's old clothes, some people thought I was a boy. When we would have girls vs boys fights in the playground I was regarded as a boy. I still kinda wish I was a boy...

I used to be a preschool teacher, and we didn't separate kids based on sex like this. The kids even shared bathrooms from age 2 to 12. I'm a bit disturbed that Kennedy's preschool forced these gender roles on children who are so young.
i hope they can start her on hormones as she would go through puberty. ive started hormones now at age 18, but id known this since i was 4. now that there is more education and thigns arent as strict hopefully she can start and prevent testosterone from taking its toll. awesome girl.

@kinkykarabearluv its no longer encouraged for the parents to decide the sex, now its encouraged to let the child grow with both organs and decide for themselves, in case the parent picked the wrong gender. as for transgender, some people are just born with a mind that differs from their body.

@poppylv21 As a kid, I was a very tomboyish girl as well, even to the point of wanting to be a boy. I feel like they should have been pacified with dressing up as the gender they wanted, but they shouldn't have recieved a gender change until they were old enough to seriously decide for themselves. Now that I'm older, I appreciate my gender and love doing "girly things". People go through phases all the time, especially kids.

That's like me telling someone 10yrs old they cant be sad about losing their mom at age 3 cuz at that age they didn't know what death is.
This is an impossible issue to solve. The right answer is so different for each person. There are tomboyish girls and girlish boys, and sometimes traits change over time. How are parents supposed to know what to do in those cases? Sometimes the kid really is throwing a fit for no reason and sometimes it's real. Biology and psychology are tricky things. Personally, I wouldn't know what to do, specifically if my daughter wanted to be a boy. I admire these parents for their courage.

@rassledassle82 The little boy Kennedy is my cousin and I can tell you that this is indeed not a joke. He is really happy being a boy and this is what he wants, it has nothing to do with his mom. It was a very hard transition for everyone in the family but we all accept Kennedy and love him very much. A lot of people do not realize that this is reality we are in no way pretending. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but dont judge him because of the way he feels or his mom for supporting it.

Every little kid needs love, so it's good that Kennedy (and the other children) gets all the love that their parents have to give, so that's not at all what I am questioning, nor am I saying that it's the kids' faults, because it's not. @08JennaG You're absolutely right, there's nothing pretend about it. I'm glad that more people are supporting their transgender children. It will help them to lead easier lives as they get older. I transitioned at 21 and had it relatively easy, but it still would have been much easier if it could have happened for me in childhood.
is there an age limit to undergo gender reassignment surgeries? if there is no age limit these parents need to send their kids for these surgeries pronto ... have to let them be who they feel they are asap, coz that "birth defect" shes talking about early on might cause her alot of emotional problems, my heart goes out to these kids, really brave and strong little kids = )

I have a great aunt who once was my great uncle. She did not come out to everyone and change what she wore until she was well into her 70s...she was pretending to be something she didn't feel she was for nearly her whole life. That is in my oppinion much sadder than people who come out about it when they are young.

sexual identity has nothing to do with this. These kids are too young to know if they are sexually attracted to men or women, it has nothing to do with being gay or straight. It is about their gender identity, about BEING a boy or girl, not who they're sexually attracted to.

@Zencyde I can only agree with you if parents or society are forcing a child to be something that he or she is not. That will create a lot of frustration and confusion, and the child will be resentful in the long run. In general there are traits associates with boys and traits associated with girls, but there is a big grey area where children should be allowed to express themselves. As long as they are happy with the way things are, it means there is no problems. Parents need to be open minded.
Probably what they'll do when Kennedy starts to hit puberty is they'll start giving him shots of testosterone until he fully develops, and sometime along the way he'll have surgery to remove the vagina and attach a penis.
also, how does one handle the sexuality end of things like if kennedy wants to be a boy, then he probably wants to date girls like all boys do: what straight female will accept him (romantically i guess) and no gay female will probably look his way, I'm sure. @FlimsyRock When the child discovers they're transgendered so young they're able to get on hormone blockers at 11 or 12 to stop their natural puberty, then at about 14 or 15 they're giving testosterone or estrogen. So they're able to go through a sort-of "normal" puberty, it's just a couple of years after everyone else has started.

I used to be a preschool teacher, and we didn't separate kids based on sex like this. The kids even shared bathrooms from age 2 to 12. I'm a bit disturbed that Kennedy's preschool forced these gender roles on children who are so young.

I feel like they should have been pacified with dressing up as the gender they wanted, but they shouldn't have recieved a gender change until they were old enough to seriously decide for themselves. Now that I'm older, I appreciate my gender and love doing "girly things". People go through phases all the time, especially kids.

This is an impossible issue to solve. The right answer is so different for each person. There are tomboyish girls and girlish boys, and sometimes traits change over time. How are parents supposed to know what to do in those cases? Sometimes the kid really is throwing a fit for no reason and sometimes it's real. Biology and psychology are tricky things. Personally, I wouldn't know what to do, specifically if my daughter wanted to be a boy. I admire these parents for their courage.

It was a very hard transition for everyone in the family but we all accept Kennedy and love him very much. A lot of people do not realize that this is reality we are in no way pretending. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but dont judge him because of the way he feels or his mom for supporting it.

That will create a lot of frustration and confusion, and the child will be resentful in the long run. In general there are traits associates with boys and traits associated with girls, but there is a big grey area where children should be allowed to express themselves. As long as they are happy with the way things are, it means there is no problems. Parents need to be open minded.

@FlimsyRock When the child discovers they're transgendered so young they're able to get on hormone blockers at 11 or 12 to stop their natural puberty, then at about 14 or 15 they're giving testosterone or estrogen. So they're able to go through a sort-of "normal" puberty, it's just a couple of years after everyone else has started.

So your parents RAISED you not to believe in religion, God etc... If this is true then a child can be RAISED to believe they are a transsexual. Sorry, but this child has received encouragement to be transgender from confused and psychologically disordered parents. When you gain some life experience and think rationally not with feelings you will get it.

@onebadgs400 When it's beating someone down, it's not needed. I have two nieces of my own, and I do help my siblings with them. Those little girls are my world, and I don't need my own little kid to know what having a kid is like, because one lived with me until she was 3 years old.

Allowing people to be themselves is not child abuse. Preventing people from expressing their individuality is child abuse. A person's sex and their gender identity are two different things. I would suggest using the internet to find information on this topic as you seem to be confused.

For example he told the first man to cultivate the ground and eventually humans would turn the whole earth into a paradise. God chose to have humans write the bible books because humans can relate to humans. The human experience is the same no matter what culture we are from.

People would take the bible more seriously if it was written by God instead of by other people, so he is leaving a lot up to faith - or believing in things without proof.
