I would watch this show only for the opening and closing. The theme song and its keyboards and synthesizers are bad in a good way. Would always raise the volume all the way up. Thanks Dennis Carnevale for a great theme song.
I used to watch "Learn to Read" many years ago, and it sure feels good to hear the "Learn to Read" Theme Song again. Kudos to the guy that brought back this Memorable Song.
Indeed. It looks like WNET has stopped airing "Learn To Read" entirely. Don't know when though. Luckily I managed to record the pilot episode (w/Bruce Jenner hosting) over a year ago when they were still airing it. Perhaps, after 20+ years the show has run its course and is being replaced with something more modern. It was one of WNET's longest-running shows, even though it is just a simple tutorial show.
For an adult oriented program, I loved watching it as a kid oddly enough. :P

'80's Casio Keyboard goodness! What was up with the 80's obsession with synth?

Was cheaper than giving an orchestra the sheet of music to play.

I remember that Wally Amos was the host of another KET produced program, "Another Page". I can't remember when he did that program, though.
