@DRphotspeed Thank you. I might carry my grandpa's NAME but i might not be for example in the same CATEGORY as he was. If my g-g-grand-grand-grandpa was african (dark-skinned, BLACK) and i'm after much interbreeding by following generations with caucasians more like caucasian (WHITE) then african it wouldn't describe me accurately to call me BLACK. by your system there would be no system - we are all 'african' (by 'all' i mean species homo sapiens).

@DRphotspeed You are confusing UNIQUE NAMES with CATEGORIES. Yes, you could pick ANYTHING as your NAME, no problem there (except maybe id disables the categorization by name) but you can't pick your RACE or ETHNICITY or GENDER etc (except when you are a borderline object and categories are not strict, so it makes categorization more subjective). I have a typical human male characteristics (penis, beard etc). I could call myself female panda bear, but that wouldn't change the fact i'm human male.
