  • @rahvavaenlane Similar to the way you put the name of your grandfather, just for that, because he was your great-grandfather. No only happens with the dub, also with rock, hip hop, disco 70's, musical minimalism, psychedelic music, and others. explore it and see, Good luck!

  • @DRphotspeed Thank you. I might carry my grandpa's NAME but i might not be for example in the same CATEGORY as he was. If my g-g-grand-grand-grandpa was african (dark-skinned, BLACK) and i'm after much interbreeding by following generations with caucasians more like caucasian (WHITE) then african it wouldn't describe me accurately to call me BLACK. by your system there would be no system - we are all 'african' (by 'all' i mean species homo sapiens).

  • @DRphotspeed You are confusing UNIQUE NAMES with CATEGORIES. Yes, you could pick ANYTHING as your NAME, no problem there (except maybe id disables the categorization by name) but you can't pick your RACE or ETHNICITY or GENDER etc (except when you are a borderline object and categories are not strict, so it makes categorization more subjective). I have a typical human male characteristics (penis, beard etc). I could call myself female panda bear, but that wouldn't change the fact i'm human male.

  • @rahvavaenlane El tema es un poco polémico en verdad, de repente nos alejamos del tema y entramos en otros temas!... pero bueno!... suerte por ahí amigo!... ya habrá una oportunidad de ponernos de acuerdo! :D

  • @DRphotspeed Good luck to You too.

  • I feel good with fluctuate Syncopating rhythm.

  • TIMELESS SEQUENCE !

  • Can someone tell me how do they produce these particular sounds back then ? Which machine ? which synth ?

  • so modest, so honest, so basic, so true

  • I wish I had a dub techno button that I could press whenever walking down deserted lamplit streets, or driving through the country, or sitting in my room in the afternoon, or sitting on a couch after everyone else has passed out at a party... and I guess I owe that desire to basic channel. so good.

  • !!!

  • when does the intro finish?

  • @Obligatory26 plenty of other music out there. why not fuck off and listen to that instead.

  • @Obligatory26 Aww you want intro , verse 1, chorus, verse 2 , chorus, middle eight, chorus repeat to fade? Bless your heart :)

  • @dryfish02 now now, lets play nice. not everyone knows what we know.

  • @Obligatory26

The intro never finishes.... It's based on the principle of birth/death/redemption/re-birth, as practiced by the dub-techno monks of tibet.

  • @Obligatory26 It's already started you just need to listen it metaphisically to to dig into it.

  • @Obligatory26 Are you that brain-dead you can't hear it changing all the time? Things being added and taken away? Much like most forms of electronic music...

  • HARDWAX in Berlin ... gibts das noch ?

Die Heimat von Chain Reaction und Basis Channel ...

  • @ibv3ja, gibts noch, inzwischen auch online!

  • epic!

  • when (in 1994) others were making cheesy house and trance tracks, these guys made music that we would listen even in 2011... This is Art

  • @mondedusilence these guys were amazing visionaries, it's tough to imagine today's electronic music without them.

  • @mondedusilence this music has no time - it's in tune with the universe - the spring reverb he used directly connects to space and time and captures it - that is the magic that you hear, but again words are not enough.

  • @mondedusilence As much as I love Basic Channel and agree their shit was futuristic (and still is), I still like the cheesey 90s house too :P

  • detroit spirit forever!

  • duck-tebno

  • Is it just me or do all the basic channel tracks have a significant amount of background hiss? even on vinyl, there's just this... noise.

  • @ddaynyc

It's done on purpose. It's the recording techniques they use with tape and analogue processors.

  • @silverdroid

    Seriously? Wow.

Did not know that. Interesting choice, I suppose. Feels farther away but still rich.

  • erst jetzt merkt mann wie weit diese tracks der zeit voraus und prägend waren und sind , dies gilt natuerlich auch fuer lyot,plus8,ur,fax rec.,.......

  • dub-techno

  • This is so ... Deep? for 1994. Great track.

  • @aidanday for 1994? lol. deep house/techno has beginnings much, much earlier than 1994.. check out the early Strictly Rhythm stuff f.e.

  • @allthingselectric That's not what I meant...I'm well aware of the origins of techno! A lot of stuff from this period (92-96) did *NOT* age well and sounds fairly primitive. This one ages well.

  • This is btw the Quadrant Dub I (Edit) from their 1995 BCD album.

  • Sonic landscape-forming gentle smoothness from 1994...
