  • nice cards

  • how much for the pack with the michael jordan rookie

  • @kobebryant2359 A graded 1986/87 fleer pack usually goes for $250 - $300. Thanks for your interest!!

  • I was laughing really hard when you mentioned that you were looking for an Andre Dawson rookie in a 74 pack. I think you meant Dave Winfield. Dawson's rookie was '77

  • @acowa4104 Ya, I know -- I'm a putts!! I usually make one obvious mistake like that a video! Sorry...

  • dime a dozen

  • what a rotten pack...lol

  • r u in your underwear?

  • 6:20 he sarted opening the cards

  • hey can u take a 1979 topps ozzie smith for that 1972?

  • tough break on the pack, great collection!

  • I noticed you kept saying Andre Dawson Rookie could be in this pack, but I am 99% positive that Dawson was a rookie is like 1977 or possibly even 1978. Wasn't 74 the Rookie year of Dave Winfield?

  • @TheGreekMan1981 Yes, you are 100% correct!

  • @TheGreekMan1981

I have the dawson its from 78

  • lol nobody is actually going to BUY $ the gum...are they?

  • That 86-87 fleer pack looks like a fake.

  • @RyanFromBako You mean the one in this video or the one in my other video where I show two 86 fleer packs and open one?? I would definitely be bumbed if this one is a fake!!

  • @dzolot I could be wrong. Not sure, maybe I'm confusing the two vids of yours, probably am. But man I would certainly invest in getting them checked out if you haven't already. BTW, nice collection. Gotta ask you, if you could get any 2010 MLB wax box what would you go with? And, why?

  • @RyanFromBako Hmmm... Good questions. My issue with the 2010 products is that most don't have strasburg or harper in the box -- If they are in the product at all, they are in as a redemption. In any event, I usually like bowman chrome, bowman draft picks & prospects and bowman sterling. Depends on how much you want to spend, if you plan to open the box or keep it sealed, etc. If you're interested in sealed boxes, check out my video of my sealed box collection!!

  • @RyanFromBako Why do you think so? Send me a PM. Thanks.

  • @dzolot No worries, at the time I thought it might be, but shortly thereafter I found out that I was mistaken. Completely forgot I left that note. BTW, your collection is quite amazing. I'd ask how much all that has cost you over the years, give or take, but that might be something you want to keep private. If not, I'd love to know. :-)

  • What if you had a Mantle in one of those old packs? that would be amazing.

  • the early 80's arent really considered vintage so opening those packs arent very risky and if u pull a gem ripken rookie or gwynn rc then its worth it. def not a good idea to open ur graded packs. the potential of having a gem card is worth more than the risk of pulling all commons. not much to pull out of the 1974 .nolan ryan would be ur best card and then dawson. 75 is a way better year. and more desirable card. very condition sensitive. any way i could go on and on great video thanks.

  • any one want a tony gwynn four peice jersey

i might be able to get it autod chris gwynn his brother is my baseball hitting coach for travel ball

  • any one want a tony gwynn four peice jersey

  • Thanks for sharing. Fred Kendall is Jason Kendall's Dad... Garry Maddox was a brilliant centerfielder. Dave "King Kong" Kingman hit the furthest homers in the 70s and struck out a ton... fun, fun, fun...

  • Dave Kingman is a cool card. But, this is why you should never ever open up vintage packs. You lost alot amount of money by opening them.

  • '72 wax pack is a cool looking pack.

  • i miss opening baseball wax pack with the bubble gum. the experience of chewing the bubble gum and looking through the cards is an experience that greedy card companies took away. why can't the card companies see that? the sights, smell, and sounds of wax pack is like no other.

  • cool collection! i have a few unopened graded packs and boxes, and i've always had a terrible time trying to "break" them w/o damaging the cards inside. i wish there was a way to get them out safely and carefully, i just haven't seen it yet. last time i broke into a graded pack i ended up hurting myself in the process.

  • @starassist1977 Ha! that's pretty funny starassist... You should make a vide of your packs! Thanks for your comment...

  • seriously......offering to sell the gum ??? c-mon man. thats just plain stupid. love the vintage stuff, but dont sell any gum from from thoes packs.

  • @groundpounder21 Umm... it was a joke!! haha... wasn't really trying to sell the gum! Thanks for watching my video! hope you liked it!

  • A better way to open the pack you ask? Put it in the microwave for about a minute. :)

  • When you have a pack graded and encased by PSA or GA, is it still possible to determine if the gum is intact? I am thinking about buying some graded packs but I only collect packs with unbroken gum. If it is not possible to determine once they are graded, then tha'ts fine by me. But I would hate to pay bog money to get a pack off of ebay only to find the gum is broken.

  • @misfit248 Good question, but don't know the answer. Does anyone else reading this comment know??

  • I took out a PSA 9 1975 Topps George Brett card out of its PSA case with scissors because I wanted it put in along with the other cards of the set. I put a huge crease across the card trying to do that. Now it's like a PSA 1. :'0(

  • hey could i maybe get one of the packs.

  • schmidt rookie is '74, dawson is '77

  • @weilland Actually you are both wrong. Schmidt was a rookie in 73, he should have been looking for a Dave Winfield rookie from 74. Dawson was a rookie in 77 though as you stated.

  • @weilland I know. Thanks. I usually make at least one numb-nuts mistake like that in each of my videos!!

  • @weilland correction .....schmidt has a topps rookie card in '73

  • im very amazed by these graded packs i like your eddie murray rc that you had for the 1978 topps. lol id like to see you open your 86-87 fleer basketball pack

  • @hellogoodbyebeatles Thanks for watching and for your comment. If I can find another 86/87 pack for a good price, maybe i'll open it on video... Stay tuned!!

  • 1974 not so vintage. 1959 topps is vintage! WTF? You do have some cool stuff!

  • @bonehead711 Thanks for watching bonehead. I guess vintage is a bit subjective. Either way, packs from the 70's are becoming more rare. Don't see too many of these getting ripped on youtube. Hope you enjoyed it!!

  • u should save the actual pack wrappers insted of trowing them out like most people do

  • man those 78 and 80 clear packs bring back memories.

  • dave kingman is alright

  • Thanks, with 660 cards in the '74 set odds are you get all commons.

  • Maybe you should sell those vintage packs & invest in some actual pants instead of living in boxers on You Tube.

  • @1466j That's a bathing suit dawg - look up Vilebrequin!! Maybe you should pay more attention to my cards instead of my clothes!! haha...

  • @1466j Great comment

  • these cards are garbage

  • you're looking Dave Winfield RC in 74

  • No surprise you didn't find the Dawson rookie. He's rookie card was in the 1977 set 3 years later.

  • sweet open that 1986 fller..that would be amazing

  • Loved it when you opened the '74 pack! I hope you do more! I literally felt excitement and anticipation in just watching that get opened.

  • @michaelcabrera Thanks for your comment! It was a lot of fun to open!!

  • Very cool video. It's a rare treat to see some older wax get opened.

  • Very cool video, I'm jealous of your collection. Congrats on obtaining such nice packs!

  • 5grand 4 the gum lol

  • thats a good video, ive just ordered one of those unopended topps packs, howm uch do you htink there worth, i got it for free from that swagbucks site i said about

  • i got 4 1983 Cal ripkens in almost pristine condition.

i get my cards free from this old 90 year old guy who gives me shit loads of boxes from the early 1980's and 1990's. he gave me so much, im still looking through them. i found a 1980 Nolan Ryand and a 1982 Nolan ryan that i just found today.

  • @PrairieThunderFan1 RYAN AND*

  • Dawson rookie was in 77 bud.

  • I know, I know... I should really add a comment box in the video. Thanks for watching!!

  • Nice Kingman and Patek! Thanks for the memories! I opened 1974 cases back in the day and it was nice to see you open one all these years later!

  • you got an awesome collection of stuff! great video!

  • Thanks for the video. I never saw a graded rack pack before. Wow you have more will power than me. I have put away cards before but I end up opening them after awhile. Really cool!!!!

  • It's funny, I really don't have a strong urge to open the packs. I really enjoy having them sealed. I know... it's weird!! Thanks for watching!

  • I think the 2nd series 1960 Topps has the Yaz and other rookies as I recall there being 88 in a series before Topps went to 132/series! Nice collection!

  • for the seal on the outside use a can opener

  • Good idea. Thanks!

  • It was cool opening that pack. No great cards, but some very good players. I used to buy them by the box and the store clerks thought I was crazy. That Royals player was Freddie "Paw-Teck" and was a real dickhead in person. Dave "Kong" Kingman was also a schmuck.

  • is it wierd knowing that you probly have some valuable badass cards in those packs? btw 5 stars that was pretty cool man

  • Thanks for your comment!! That's what i find so appealing about holding onto packs. It's the unknown!! I know many people can't resist keeping this stuff sealed, but for me, having the sealed pack is the collectible in itself. Check out the latest video i posted with my sealed box collection (both vintage and modern)!!

  • the pack opening was captivating video! dave kingman was decent.

  • Thanks for your comment. It was a lot of fun opening the pack! I removed your comment from my other video -- no hard feelings...

  • That Garry Maddox is nice

  • if i were you id open up all the graded packs

    plus all the other packs

  • Ha!! No waaaayyyy!!!

  • You dont have to say where, but just wondering what you do for a living you got a great collection one of the nicest Ive seen but must cost a pretty penny...

  • I have some mint condition beanie nanies for sale , if anyone is inyerested,

I could get them easy , when my daughter is asleep. She will never know. Email me for pictures .

  • what do you do for a living, I would consider doing it too? lol

  • Great collection of unopened baseball card packs, that was a cool video!

  • Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching!

  • RESIST OPENING.someday youll know why

  • i sold a psa 10 on ebay not too long ago for a little over a $1000.00.

  • actually you would want to be looking for the winfield rookie not the dawson. dawson's rc is in 77'

  • Ya, I know... I should insert a call out box with the correction. What other high-end cards do you have? You should make a youtube video!!

  • Damn dude....Nice collection....Don't open too many of those.....They'll only increase in value

  • wax was awseome cuz u wouldnt destroy the wrapping and they were hella easy to get open...unlike today

  • Where would I get these vintage packs? Also, how do I know what card is "rare" or "valuable" when i buy a new pack of baseball cards.. I mean, there has to be more to it than just finding cards with good players on them right?

  • You can't have these vintage packs, because they're mine!! If you are thinking about starting a vintage pack collection, you can usually find them on eBay or anywhere else you would typically buy vintage cards. There is a really good reference guide for prices / key cards in sealed packs. You can buy it on eBay:

Search: VINTAGE UNOPENED PACK PRICE GUIDE. It is sold by thebbckid. Good luck!!

  • Dawson's Rc is 1977 Topps. Key rc's in the 1974 set are: Dave Winfield, Dave Parker, Ken Griffey Sr...... Regardless, thanks for sharing all your old packs with us and opening a vintage pack on cam. Cool to see all that unopened vintage wax. I'm jealous ;)

  • Not looking to sell, but everyone has a price!! Would consider selling for a grand...

  • love the brett rookie 75 topps pack... would you consider selling?

  • Thanks for watching and for the comment by the way!!

  • can i have that phillies cheacklist

  • great look at some sweet vintage...thanks man. The George Brett and Henderson are amazing.

  • dude i need that phillies check list

  • hey dzolot do you have a pete rose rookie card just asking

  • biggz1107 -- you have a very good eye. I do not have a Rose rookie -- Good catch noticing a pretty key card that's missing from my videos. I've wanted to pick one up for a while, but I just think it's a little overpriced. I'd rather spend $700 on other cards then buy a rose rc in psa 7. Thanks for watching!!

  • you do know it's Dave Winfield and not Dawson RC in this set...right? :)

  • Ya -- i realized that after i filed the video! Good catch! Thanks for watching!!

Did you really pull that montana RC from the cello? That was pretty awesome -- love watching that video!!

  • any are for trade plz tell me yes or no?

  • sorry vintagebaseball, not really looking to trade. thanks for watching my video!!

  • Fantastic collection! Some really nice grades and packs! Im with you as well, I'd most likely keep them all in the graded holders. May I ask what made you choose GAI over other companies?

  • Thanks for watching. To answer your question, when i made this video, GAI was the only Company that graded packs. PSA began grading packs also about a year ago. Now that PSA is grading packs, you see a lot more from them which I have been buying as well.

  • Nice 86/87 fleer

  • hey man , when did you get those packs and how much? and also who graded them for you and how much did it cost to grade the packs? nice vid.

  • I've been buying packs for the past 5 years or so. All graded packs were bought that way. Check out the grading company websites (like GAI, PSA, etc.) to get pricing info.

  • what does gai psa stand for???

  • GAI = Global Authenticators, Inc. Think they changed ownership and changed their name recently though...

    PSA = Professional Sports Authenticator

  • nice pack, not 1

  • nice cello packs

  • hey alf check out my photobucket for the card i mentioned!OR CHUCK YOUR DICKHOLE UP!

  • Comment removed

  • Leave me alone pluggindashoes

  • i have acouple of wade boggs great condition

  • nice history lesson thanks for posting this video I think you should keep packs from 1990-2009 so you could see the different in wrapping and cards

great job on the video keep up the good work

  • Thanks for watching and for your comment. If you liked the history, check out my other videos with vintage cards!!

  • how much you want for that first wade boggs?

  • i opened all thos epacks before i love vintage

  • i subbed to you bro tertuen the fav thanks and nice ass break btw

  • what u want for the basketball 86-87 fleer

  • Thanks for watching my vid. Wasn't really looking to sell the set, but would consider for the right price. Why don't you e-mail me directly with your best offer. DZ

  • Fun video. For all potential pack collectors out there watching this, be careful when buying packs on eBay. A high percentage of those packs are resealed, even those from sellers with high feedback and lots of pack transactions. Even some GAI graded packs are bogus (especially '58 cellos). Pack collecting is a lot of fun but be sure to talk to knowledgable collectors before spending hundreds of dollars on vintage packs.

  • I did not get into cards until '87 but I love your passion for this man, takes me back. I quit collecting after upper deck ruined everything in the late 80's and still have tons from this era, but I know they are not worth much. I sure did love the thrill back then though.

  • Padres33101 -- you have some nice videos up. Yes, i do still have the 1960 pack. I'm not particularly looking to sell it, but everyone has their price...

  • Swagbucks?

  • Thanks for the post. Josh Robinson from the NY Times actually interviewed me for the story!!! Doesn't look like any of my quotes made it in though... Good stuff!!

  • you should read todays nytimes 2 great story on card collecting and pack opening. i was 12 yr

when i payed 6 dollars for 1 1978 topps cello

that you have. i still young 33 but only consistent love or passion is baseball cards. tc chris

  • The 75 rack pack with the Rose on the top is pretty cool. Shame you couldnt pull anything too good out of the 74 pack.

  • I hope you have all these put in a fireproof safe....you have the sickest collection I have ever seen pack wise. Did you just save all of these?

  • thanks for watching my video and for your comment! I am not the original owner of any of the packs. Now I just hold on to them as they are. Like i say in the vid., I don't have the guts to open them!! For me, a vintage sealed pack is a collectible in itself... and no, i don't keep them in a fireproof safe, but you're right, maybe I should!!

  • Yeah, don't you wish packs were $0.25 again.

  • Kingman and Patek are probably the best two cards from the pack.

  • Does any one of em' say Hobby Edition becasue i dont know when they came out with hobby edition

  • AWESOME!

  • I am suprised that you have the 80's packs. Aren't they way over produced? Or are they worth somethin.

P.S. don't think i am hatin your cards, You have the best cards on youtube.

  • the eaily 80's were not as badly over produced like the ones feom 85, on.

  • dang, where did you find all that stuff?

  • That was fun! I guess the Kingman was the best pull. Thanks for the post, its not every day you get to see a 74 wax opened.

  • Excellent video!! I remember opening hundreds of those "74" packs as a 12 year old. Great memories!

  • standback23 - Thanks for watching my vid and for your comment. Do you still have any cards from your childhood? Imagine what all those packs would be worth today!!

  • Yea, I still have quite of few cards from years 75-77 but have very little from 71-74.

I did manage to buy most of the sets from the 70's(except 70+72) on E-Bay a couple years ago.

I hope you keep the packs from the 60's intact because they are becoming quite hard to find. What made you decide to collect packs from 40 years ago? Great choice!!

  • hey really awesome packs. cool that you shared opening one up for everyone since ive never had the pleasure.

  • Great stuff. This might be the only time I suggest having something graded to make sure the packs were not tampered with unless you are buying from a reputable dealer.

  • Also Andre Dawsons rookie is from the 1976 set not the 1974 which has the rookies of Dave Winfield and Dave Parker

  • thats sad you didnt get any good cards in that pack. also how can you not resist on opening a the pack with geaorge brett rookie, eddie murray rookie, and rickey hendricken rookie!

  • My thoughts on why he didn't open the packs with the star rookies on the front is that by being on the front of the cello, you already know you have the best card in the set and it's worth more and much more scarce to leave it the way it is. Also makes for a really cool presentation piece.

  • Wow - Awesome packs!! You going to put them (or another pack break) on youtube?? You pull anything good from them??

  • Wow that was pretty cool dude. When you crack the other packs, (which you will) share it with us again. Really enjoyed the video. Never had as much anticipation like that when I used to open those packs when I was 6 years old. Thanks!

  • Thanks!! Don't plan on busting the other packs, but if i do, i'll definitely post!! what packs did you used to open?

  • My first packs I cracked as a youngster were 1972 topps. I was 4 at the time. The 1972-1975 cards is the cards I remember opening and then just not really taking care of them like I wish I did. Oh well. If you do crack open another vintage pack, email me after you upload. I will definitely go check it out.

  • its scary how 1974 topps and 1966 topps wax packs look the same

  • hows it scary?

  • cuz they look alike

  • thats not scary

  • i dare u to open 1 of those pacs in a future video! sincerly, a fellow card collector

  • I have an idea for another video and I was thinking opening up a 1978 topps cello pack at the end. It would NOT be the star pack from this video, but who knows what will be inside!! Make sure to check out my other videos and stay tuned for more to come...

  • Wow. The best unopened pack collection I've ever seen. I haven't even seen some of those ever. So cool.

Was great watching u open the 1974 pack, although I agree they shouldn't be opened.

Dave 'King Kong' Kingman was the best guy in a pack of commons. Funny thing about Kingman is he hit 35 hr in 1986 and NOBODY wanted to sign him to a contract so he retired. That's what a .255 OBP will do for ya I guess. He also played for 4 teams in one season (1977). Fun Facts! Baseball rules!~

  • hey mrdorkusmcdorky -- thanks for you comment. interesting fun fact!! Take a look at my other videos - i have some other good stuff posted!!

  • 74 is winfield and dave parker rookie years

    dawson is 77

  • Not really looking to sell, but everyone has a price. Feel free to make me an offer!!

  • Would you be interested in selling the 55,60,66,67 packs?

  • What's the point in getting rear packs if you are not going to open them and see what's inside. It just dose not make sense to me.

  • Ha!! Thanks for the comment. Can't really explain the appeal, except that the pack itself is the collectible due to its age and scarcity. The mystery and possibilities of what's inside are what i find exciting. once it's open, the mystery is gone!!!

  • nice collectinn im 12 and i have some great jersys cards and 1955 topps pack.

  • how much is it to grade a pack

  • I actually don't know. I bought all the packs graded already. I'm sure you can go to GAI's website and find out though...

  • great collection man!

  • Andre Dawson is not in the 1974 Topps set, his rookie is in 1977 Topps. 1974 Topps have the Dave Winfield Rookie Card. Great pack collection !

  • My bad. Thanks for the correction. I'm always saying the wrong thing in these videos!!! haha...

  • u should have jus open da ungraded packs

    but nice collection

  • I could have, but it wouldn't have been as much fun!! haha...

  • If the Kingman is for sale, I would be interested.

  • How much? Would be open to trade also.
