Thirteen months ago two hungry, cold, matted and filthy little dogs accosted me in my front yard, expressing interest in some chicken I was bringing home. No collars, no tags or chips, no posters inquiring about their whereabouts. Neighbors said they had been bumming around the neighborhood for months. Today they are healthy and happy. Best thing that ever happened to me.
I feed them Blue Buffalo kibble plus assorted good stuff. No mill floor sweepings and rendered chicken feathers for them!
Thumbs up if you went to your dog (if you have one) and hugged him/her for 10 minutes straight after watching this... I know I did, I lost 2 dogs, not gonna lose my 3rd dog.
My dog, was rescued when i was a baby. that dog has helped raise me, save my life and keep me safe. now i'm in high school and he still means the world to me :3 I'm always always gonna adopt. <3 they always have a bit more to prove and to give :D

In my country, Lithuania they have caught over 10,000 loner dogs wondering round the country and only 500 got adopted. Others were put to sleep so thats why I'm going for summer holidays back to my country from UK and adopt one <33

You don't need to feed a dog more than once a day, but you must provide them with fresh clean water ALL day long.
i'm sorry to ruin the moment but, when they test feed their dogs, they starve them for the whole day. they don't feed the dogs anything so that when shooting commercial time comes, the dogs would eat anything.
Dogs are supposed to be fed wet food twice a day and have dry food out for the whole day. Food testers don't give any food to the dogs before they test and shoot the dogs in commercials where they actually get fed.
Please adopt a dog or cat - don't buy them from a store. Our organization raises money for rescue groups that save these animals and find them new homes.

I've posted flyers everywhere and put an AD in the paper. it's been 2 weeks and I still don't have her back...and it hurts. I won't give up on her...because she is my only friend, and because she loves me no matter what. I know she's still out there, I can feel it. It's a family thing...I just know. My dog is a Pedigree dog... and I will find her no matter what.

well you know it's not all shelter animals. Pedigree animals need homes, too you know! I am getting a Chi in December. Does anyone know which foods are ok for them to eat? (by the way, all this by products junk looks soooo good on TV, but they actually make their food out of dead shelter animals, oh the ironacy!)
I fed my first three dogs Purina, and they did quite well. Two of the three lived to be older and more healthy than many of the dogs on the higher premium stuff. My fourth one eats Eukanuba Naturally Wild.

Pedigree is doing commercials on this, trying to appeal to America with the "aww" factor.
It's ironic how they do a commercial on shelter dogs, yet they put "meat & bone meal" in their food.
"Meat & bone meal" is a vague ingredient. It can't be defined as a single protein source because there isn't one. It's an ingredient that comes from rendering plants, where dead animals are all mushed together into "meat & bone meal." Where do a majority of the animals come from? Euthanized animals.
I don`t know how good the food is, since science diet seems the best for dogs, but shelter dogs are in great need of homes and there is nothing wrong with them. both of my mutts are rescues from bad situations, great dogs. I like the veiw point of the comercial.
Nah. My mother is a vet and researched the food. So far my 10 year old mutt is mistaken for a puppy and 7 year old lost his limp and chases other dogs again on sceience diet. I won`t call it the best but it has done great work for their health.
Well that explains it. lol. The only people I know who recommend Science Diet are vets or got the information from vets. The same vets that probably sell the food and the only animal nutrition education they get is sponsored by the dog food companies. But if it works for you that's great! I choose to feed our dog food without all those fillers.
Corn is too digestable. My mother is not paid to use it and was never 'taught' by special teachers. She has done her own research personally and we have seen results.
It is digestable, but dogs get little to no nutritionally benefit from it. It can cause allergies also. It is a cheap filler used by grocery store foods.
She needs to do research on good dog foods, such as Canidae (what we use), Innova Evo, Merrick, and a raw diet.
A raw diet is also a poor thing to get people into. It is too easy for the dog to pick out only meat and for the owner to not balance the diet. Not to mention it`s expensive.
It can too easily get out of hand, unbalanced, and picked out. I know it works for 'some' but it is a poor diet for vet recomendation because it can be messed up so easily. Bones themselves can shatter and choke dogs.
So instead of recommending a good raw diet, or a high quality food, they chose to pick something like Science Diet? I guess the vets will get more money because of unhealthy dogs from low quality food.
Raw bones are digestable, and easily chewed by dogs. They do not shatter.
Science diet, IS, high quality. Although most owners come in with fat dogs that have eaten human food or junky grocery store stuff. Resently, dogs on Science Diet have done better. It is our proof, and dogs do great on it.
And yes, several dogs have come in with bits of bone in their throat or loged in their gums because the owner thought it was an innocent treat.
HOWEVER, this back-and-forth debating will get us nowhere. You`ve blown up my simple comment into a rant.
these commercials make me tear up everytime...whether or not pedigree is good for dogs is debatable but hell, i'll buy it and eat it myself if it donates money to abandoned dogs

i hate dog pounds too and i really hope all the different dogs in the pounds get a really loving home.

go 2 the pound first after all muts & senior & black dogs and cats r more likely 2 die plus animals w/ mixed genes like muts usually have a more likely chance 2 live longer this is not 2 dis purebreds but hilight the advantages of having a mut also old dogs & cats r easier 2 take care of especially for first time owners and black dogs & cats are just as loveable as any colored animals plz adopt from the pound 1 more thing is that many puppies & kittens come from breeder farms very bad

This was an original score done by New Math Music (Michael Fitzpatrick and Mickey Petralia).. There is also another song used and the track was composed for the ad by a guitarist called Toby Pitman/ He hasn't released the song, either.

well you know it's not all shelter animals. Pedigree animals need homes, too you know! I am getting a Chi in December. Does anyone know which foods are ok for them to eat? (by the way, all this by products junk looks soooo good on TV, but they actually make their food out of dead shelter animals, oh the ironacy!)

I fed my first three dogs Purina, and they did quite well. Two of the three lived to be older and more healthy than many of the dogs on the higher premium stuff. My fourth one eats Eukanuba Naturally Wild.

Pedigree is doing commercials on this, trying to appeal to America with the "aww" factor.
It's ironic how they do a commercial on shelter dogs, yet they put "meat & bone meal" in their food.
"Meat & bone meal" is a vague ingredient. It can't be defined as a single protein source because there isn't one. It's an ingredient that comes from rendering plants, where dead animals are all mushed together into "meat & bone meal." Where do a majority of the animals come from? Euthanized animals.

I don`t know how good the food is, since science diet seems the best for dogs, but shelter dogs are in great need of homes and there is nothing wrong with them. both of my mutts are rescues from bad situations, great dogs. I like the veiw point of the comercial.

Nah. My mother is a vet and researched the food. So far my 10 year old mutt is mistaken for a puppy and 7 year old lost his limp and chases other dogs again on sceience diet. I won`t call it the best but it has done great work for their health.

Well that explains it. lol. The only people I know who recommend Science Diet are vets or got the information from vets. The same vets that probably sell the food and the only animal nutrition education they get is sponsored by the dog food companies. But if it works for you that's great! I choose to feed our dog food without all those fillers.

Science Diet is one of the worst foods for dogs.
It is corn, undigestable by dogs, with synthetic vitamins in it. It has meat by products, horns, hooves, intestines, etc.
Vets get paid to use it, and they are taught by Science Diet teachers, so of course they tell them its good.
Feeding your dog any grocery store food, or Vet food is unhealthy. Feed raw, or a quality food.

Corn is too digestable. My mother is not paid to use it and was never 'taught' by special teachers. She has done her own research personally and we have seen results.

It is digestable, but dogs get little to no nutritionally benefit from it. It can cause allergies also. It is a cheap filler used by grocery store foods.
She needs to do research on good dog foods, such as Canidae (what we use), Innova Evo, Merrick, and a raw diet.

A raw diet is also a poor thing to get people into. It is too easy for the dog to pick out only meat and for the owner to not balance the diet. Not to mention it`s expensive.

For dog owners who are responsible and do the work, and get a hollistic vet, it works great. Its the best diet for dogs.
All dogs I have seen on the raw diet eat the bones...
Its not that expensive. You save money on vet bills, and feed less because you don't have to keep buying bags of trash like Iams or Pedigree.

It can too easily get out of hand, unbalanced, and picked out. I know it works for 'some' but it is a poor diet for vet recomendation because it can be messed up so easily. Bones themselves can shatter and choke dogs.

Raw bones are digestable, and easily chewed by dogs. They do not shatter.

Science diet, IS, high quality. Although most owners come in with fat dogs that have eaten human food or junky grocery store stuff. Resently, dogs on Science Diet have done better. It is our proof, and dogs do great on it.
And yes, several dogs have come in with bits of bone in their throat or loged in their gums because the owner thought it was an innocent treat.
HOWEVER, this back-and-forth debating will get us nowhere. You`ve blown up my simple comment into a rant.

these commercials make me tear up everytime...whether or not pedigree is good for dogs is debatable but hell, i'll buy it and eat it myself if it donates money to abandoned dogs
