I'm assuming this trend of disliking CC is due to their rapidly growing popularity over the years and if you start to dislike a band because they're getting popular you're no better than a hipster.
Death gets way too much credit. Sure, Scream Bloody Gore was a seminal and an excellent album. Later on Chuck lost his way, sadly. Symbolic was quite catchy and TSOP was generally boring with a couple of hidden gems. Everything in between was sub-par.

I am a Christian who can't help but love bands like Motorhead & Judas Priest, & I welcomed speed/thrash/even black metal as an alternative to what else passes for metal these days. This band surprised me by how crisp & clean it is. CD's by this band are incredibly expensive at most record stores here, & I end up ordering them online. What bugs me is most Death or Black Metal bands have logos that you can't read without staring for an hour or using a magnifying glass.

Find me a better Gorguts song then Frantic Disembowelment, and I'll shut up. Give up yet?

@Schuldiner11 Gorguts is like Metallica, not that they started playing pussy music, as the band got older their music got worse. Corpse have continued to get heavier, with more crushing technical advanced guitar riffs every album. If your not a musician you wont appreciate it nearly as much, especially from a guitarists perspective. Not ALL of CC's songs are technical, but they CAN be if they choose. Find me a better Gorguts song then Frantic Disembowelment, and I'll shut up. Give up yet?

@terrioja gorguts is musically way fuckin better, their music actually goes a little deeper than "blood, fuck, torture" and not only lyrically, clearly there is more thought and feeling put in to the instruments as well. Every band in the book of old school was more interesting than CC... Monstrosity, Dismember, Obituary, Master, Death, Sinister, Benediction etc... I haven't heard CC's newer stuff, but compared to their old stuff it's a no brainer.
