simple physics, not hurricane winds. open any two windows in a moving object where one window leads to the outside (side touching the air) and the other window leads to the inside (side where it takes longer for the air to reach the outside via nooks and crannies) and air will be sucked in one direction and shot out the other. due to the decreased volume for the air to flow, the speed of the airflow is increased...
The same thing happened to us last week. We also had a balcony on the Miracle and every time we kept the balcony door open with the rubber door stop wedged into the side and then opened the stateroom door, it was exactly like this hurricane winds throughout the room. Too funny.
I hope it is safe to sleep with the balcony door open to let the fresh ocean breeze in? Booked a bolcony stateroom for the first time, can't wait :) Soo excited!
The wind just has to be coming at the right direction. I have had a few balconies, and that was the only time that that happened....at least the only time I noticed anyway...
I tried to duplicate it with more empty beer cans, but could not the rest of the week.
we didn't quite have all of that happen, but i remembered going on the upstairs deck on the front of the ship during the night and nature just didn't want anybody on that at the time and she was blowing hard.
OMG that happend to me when i was on the NCL spirit, its so much fun, and funny lol :D
