@SPBTsnyder Which law school did you learn this from? The usual rule is you can take anybody's picture in a public place (exceptions for upskirting, downblousing, nude beach etc.) As this is private property, you need the permission of the owner of the property, not the person whose image you are taking. As for 'its just a game' (sic) it is their job.
I was in this match. The guy who shouted "Yeah" at the match point damaged the whole feelings. The audience would like to see Raonic winning cleanly rather than having a rude guy yelling to distract Verdasco from returning with focus. From this VDO, it seems like the girl who was with him was not at all embarrassed by her boyfriend/husband's attitudes. It seems like they're having fun spoiling the environment. Shame on this couple.
He looks like a Vietnamese fresh of the boat son of a bitch who tries to laugh it off with his idiotic ignorant wife/girlfriend. These two are a disgrace to the race and they should really have been fined or banned from the tournament for years.

@ Sagesk8r Ya, I would have liked to see Raonic offer that too, but my guess is he was expecting the judge to do so...then when he didn't, he was probably left as bewildered as Verdasco. You can see both of them at the net, kind of like 'Did that just happen?'.
Ah well. Good win for Raonic despite the crappy end. Hope that wasn't a Canadian who yelled out at the end. If so, I apologize on behalf of our country. What a hoser.
@Sagesk8r difficult decision, the umpire should ask to replay the point, not Raonic IMO... but yeah sad way to finish a match, Raonic looked sorry too...
@arlyquino Bullshit. If anything, it was more of a distraction to Raonic.
Verdasco acted like the sore loser he is, after the match, during the interview, he was OUTCLASSED. Over the next few years he will realize that he's not in the same league as Raonic. Raonic is destined to win more than a 500 title.
Read page 108 of the ATP Rulebook. If a spectator makes a noise, then the point stands as played. If you stop and think about it, it makes perfect sense. If a let is played whenever someone in the crowd makes a noise, then points would/could constantly be replayed. And think of how many players would have "friends" in the audience yelling out whenever a play doesn't go their way. Once again, the ref did the right thing. Read the rulebook.
@tented The umpire should have had them replay it, and that rule should be altered to allow lets to be ruled if the distracting call occurs before the return of service is struck.
The umpire can't rewrite the rules in the middle of a match. He did the right thing. Look it up in the ATP Rulebook. It's right there. If you think the rule is wrong, then take it up with the ATP, not the umpire who did his job correctly.
@cj397 lol i bet the guy who shouted is having a right good laugh hahaha fair play to him theres nothing anyone can do about it now so why shold ge give a fuck lmao
@tented although the rule states that, it's up to the umpire to access if there was a deliberate hindrance to the server, in this case to check if Raonic was indeed hurt in the serve motion. Tennis rules are not always black and white, their often 'grey' and the umpire has to decide how to enforce them, with a ton of good sense.
Also the thing about someone constantly doing this on the stand, the umpire should request for the person to be removed from the court.
@scineram I doubt that very much. They do not shout out just as someone is serving for match point. Otherwise, we'd see it happening all the god damn time, idiot.
Nevertheless, as @tented has kindly and anally pointed out for us, the ump followed the rules he's obliged to. Doesn't mean the rule is perfect, though. As for 'friends' yelling out whenever the play doesn't go their way...do you really think that would happen? Really, tented? Sad.
seriously the fat lady taking pictures is stupid, it is illegal to take pictures of people without their consent, seriously lady, its just a game.

@Sushbag
The umpire can't rewrite the rules in the middle of a match. He did the right thing. Look it up in the ATP Rulebook. It's right there. If you think the rule is wrong, then take it up with the ATP, not the umpire who did his job correctly.

@tented but it says: "an 'OUT' call is made by a spectator". The rule is not complete.

@tented Doesnt matter, not on match point... it's out of respect and its the accepted thing socially to do.
This cunt fucked things up.
Just like how the line judges in chairs know not to call foot faults on match point unless its against serena.. lol

@tented the rule doesn't make sense. in this case, Raonic's friend made a noise to disrupt Verdasco. Noises can go both ways.

@arlyquino So what? People shout all the time, but there is never replay.
scineram 1 year ago
@scineram I doubt that very much. They do not shout out just as someone is serving for match point. Otherwise, we'd see it happening all the god damn time, idiot.
Nevertheless, as @tented has kindly and anally pointed out for us, the ump followed the rules he's obliged to. Doesn't mean the rule is perfect, though. As for 'friends' yelling out whenever the play doesn't go their way...do you really think that would happen? Really, tented? Sad.
