  • which cottonwood are you talking about? CA?

  • i am in love of the springfield xd

  • i want this gun so bad. i love the 1911's but there to big and heavy to conceal comfortably

  • me to but with the laser light setup

  • Looking foor a new pice for CC, finally broke down and bought a polymer frame after 30 years of steel and aluminum. With much research and handling, settled on the XD sub 9mm. After taking it to the range, I don't think I could have hoped for more. Put a Pachmayr #5 slip on grip on it. Trimmed it just a tad for the grip safety. It's all I need to put on it. Wish they had this pistol 20 years ago when I got my first CCW. Better late than never.

  • you no what it really just slid down. i guess its prolli a little difficult to grip a subcompact

  • you should be more consistant with your hand placement it will help out your aim. your hand was way to far down the first time.

  • How much does this run for?

  • I work at Cabela's gun counter and it runs for $549.99 for that model

  • Thanks, but ive already bought one! Thanks for the reply though.

  • Im getting my first gun and it will be a 3" XD Sub Compact, thanks

  • Have you purchased your sub compact yet? Let me know how you like it. I'm seriously looking to get that gun.

  • i have one. i love it best gun i ever bought. worth the money

  • The xd is the best gun I have ever shot I carry the 45 and it shoots like a 40. I LOVE IT

  • I just purchased my XD 45 4" service ( Feb 4th 2009 )

I really..really like the way it feels...

I put a Hogue handall grip sleeve on it..and modified the grip to accomodate the grip safety.

    I love it....and you can't beat 13+1 for a .45!!

I will make vids of mine shortly.

NOTE: I bought my XD45 to replace my old worn out Ruger P97DC .45ACP. <-----( Sold )

best upgrade I have done in a long time.

  • My first handgun purchase was a Ruger P95 that I Purchased about 2 years ago. I purchased a Springfield XD Sub Compact in January 2009. I considered trading in or selling my Ruger but couldn't bring myself to do it. Despite the offers from a few of my friends to buy it from me. The Ruger is a great shooting gun that will eat anything you feed it. And I admit there is some sentimental attachment. I also put a Hogue grip on my XD Sub Compact. I had to trim it up some but it fits well.

  • Oh, and does the mag extension pinch your hand when you shoot?

  • no it works very well

  • I'm thinking about picking one up. How's the recoil compared to other guns in the same caliber?

  • i like it much better than the glock for myself

recoil in 9mm with full grip is quite lite

  • Thanks for your help, though I'll probably get the 4" barrel.

  • I love mine. It points so well and feels natural in my hand. The safety system is excellent. I want a xd 45 compact next. Without the new thumb safety.

  • thats the 4" right?

    nice gun

  • no its the 3" subcompact

  • ah, i see.

  • Your video says cottonwood. Is this Utah?

  • no, the great state of washington

  • noob

  • Most hi-end guns have free floating barrels, so they can be rebuilt infinitely. Although I have never met anyone who has done more than clean the weapon. My cousin has an XD and is at about 5ooo rounds, and it has NEVER jammed on him. It is just incredible what springfield puts those guns through in testing them, sand, dirt, soaked in water for up to a week, buried in dirt for up to on week By all accounts the xd-45 is an allaround exellent weapon

  • 9mm or 40?

  • 9mm

  • that is the way it locks up and that is normal

  • how much is a xd 9mm

  • used they are like $350-400, $500 for a new onearound hear

  • is there a big difference between new and used?

  • about 100$ :)....i like buying used, saves me money and most people dont shoot there pistols that much

  • I have two XDs, a subcompact 9mm that I carry on me, and a 5 inch Tactical model in .45 caliber I keep secured in my truck. Both weapons are excellent, I've yet to have either one jam, and I must have had five or six thousand rounds through the 9mm by now. My buddy has a 4 inch .40, and he has enjoyed the same experience with his. I'd recommend this weapon in any size, any caliber.

  • do you recommend it for shooting competition bro in your own opinion?coz im looking for something that can use for competition and at the same time inside my house..

  • The M&P is available in a compact model in 9mm, .357 SIG, and .40 S&W. The XD45 compact is also very good for concealed carry. The only thing I find to be an issue with the XD subcompacts is their girth. Something like the Kahr PM9/40/45 with an extra magazine is probably the closest thing to a perfect concealed carry semi auto.

  • yes yes and you all have to know that this gun SPRINGFIELD XD is MADE IN CROATIA ITS CROATIAN PRODUCT!

  • well thats croatian Ingenuity for you

  • Can't say enough about my subcompact 9mm, or my tactical 45. Both have ate everything I've fed them, and the sub9mm is as accurate as a 4inch service model, and the 5 inch tactical is just crazy accurate!

  • Very nice gun. I love the XDs. The only other gun that rivals it is the S&W M&P40 compact

  • Yup, the M&P compact may actually be even better than the XD. Better ergonomics and holds 12+1

  • i like the M&P also, i dont think they make a sub compact in it though, sometimes its nice to have a hideaway. i carry a 45 most of the time, but i also like my 9mms. and no 45 is not to hot 4 the streets

  • how do you carry it?

  • desantis has a great holster for it called the mini slide, got it from midway

  • Do you carry your gun around? I mean on the streets. that would be cool

  • i carry a pistol or revolver all the time

  • Ihat looks like the perfect weapon for concealed carry. I own an XD .45 acp but I think thats way too much firepower to have out in the street.

  • WERLL xd 45 IS NICE, BUT THIS PISTOL IS GREAT FOR CONCEALMENT AND VERY VERSITAL

  • Why would that be too much fire power? Thats silly to say, you want all the fire power you can get if you have to use the weapon. Why do you think the armed forces wants to switch to 45 acp?

  • to avoid over penetration and hitting people behind your target.. but, thats what hollowpoints are for.

  • I have the exact same gun, and I've never had any problem with it. It's the best CCW weapon on the market today in my opinion.

  • definetly the most versatile

  • isn't that a glock?

  • no its a springfield XD, simular design

  • Does the subcompact jam at all? I've put about 2000 rounds through my full size xd, and I dont think I ever had a problem.

  • didnt jam at all for me, ate everything
