  • n whats up with the armadillo thingy?

  • even tho mtv is mostly stupid yet entertaining reality shows now, i do thank them 4 all the awesome songs of the 90s when i was growing up

  • This was the theme song of the Arab Spring!

  • Is this video racist towards jews and people from the middle east?

  • excellent song...rock the casbah

  • Hey, great band & good music, no need to be mean to others (fullnetband) if you don't like it move on. Now cassettes & albums gave us the opportunity to listen to songs that are not commercialized, actually good music intended for true fans... quit hating & love music...

  • this is when Mtv didn't suck and when they played real music

  • wowwww I heard this song a super long time ago but I never knew it was the clash o.o; i thought they were supposed to be punk rockers for some reason XD

  • Get this shit on wax

  • R.I.P. JOE STRUMMER.

  • Ladies and Gentleman, As the Middle East falls apart... again. This song will once again be dedicated to the current events.

    In Good Music, Always...

    *Rock the Casbah*

  • so how about those bears

  • What commercial was this song in?

  • @xxalmond1joyxx FedEx...

  • I'm a 21 year old african american and I think this song is awesome. Screw demographics, I love my eclectic tastes

  • @uchihaking17

Eclectic Tastes? Heck, you just have Good Tastes if you are listening to this video!

    *Rock the Casbah, Everyday*

  • Killer song....my ex CO told me at a get together that they played it on the artillery net when we took Bagdad in 2003.

  • This music video(including the front cover of the 12") proves that not all Jewish people and Arab Muslims hate and kill each other like the media always love to hype.

  • Rock the cat box!!! Sorry I couldn't help myself.. Lol.

  • Was that someones Beeper at 2:00 into the song. Every time I hear this song I hear it. Was that accidental? Like something that was in the recording studio?

  • Well this was last Positive image of an Arab....

  • What he said!! ratbugasmati69 1. I'm 59 and if you find something you like, GREAT! I have found all kinds "old" songs to my generation, and I didn't have to listen to an album to appreciate and enjoy it. Music is a spiritual experience, as sung in the song "Down In Monterey, by Eric Burton, "If you wanna find the truth in life

    Don't pass music by

    And you know

    I would not lie

    No, I would not lie

    No, I would not lie"

  • The Clash are complete shit to the talented contemporaries. Anyone who says music was better in times previous is retarded. Yeah this song is catchy, sure. But it doesnt hold a candle to modest mouse, arcade fire, british sea power, future islands, broken social scene, built to spill, wolf parade, interpol, animal collective, el ten eleven, chad vangaalen, black moth super rainbow, the shins,

  • @tibsnow

I love it when jerkoffs like yourself think you're so superior cause you listen to so-called "better" music.

  • @EricRed1119 Tell him dude... Plus most of the bands he listed suck anyway. He's probably only ever heard Rock the Casbah, London Calling, and Should I Stay or Should I go. The Clash were epic... I don't see why people have to go on youtube to try to get cred or whatever by listing the names of a bunch of bands they've heard of but probably have never listened to, or only heard their hit songs. I could do that too you should see how many shitty CD's I have because I bought it for one song. lol

  • @tibsnow are you fucking with me? there's a reason the clash are so influencial and important to music... they made an impact on punk and everything else. what a douchy comment. also, all of those bands you just listed don't deserve to be included in the same conversation as the clash. the clash would murder and rape them. metaphorically that is.

  • @FullNetBand also, i spelled influential wrong

  • @tibsnow The Clash were stepping stones for most of those bands you listed.... Most of the bands you listed were probably not recording analog with tape also.... This band is brilliant.... You are comparing the creators of a new fashion who created their own product solely with needle and thread vs. the bands you listed that had a design to fit into, a following and high powered sewing machines to produce it..... Think deeper its not about just the music...

  • @EthosDelTerra Youre a fucking moron. The clash arent important or influential to music. Its a catchy song you can bob your head to when your driving and be like, yeah this is cool man. The bands I listed are all better than the clash. The part in the sopranos where phil crashes his car while tony is listening to this... fucking awesome.

  • @tibsnow "The Clash aren't important or influential to music." That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard anyone ever say. Clearly you've only heard this song by them and don't know the significance of their albums like London Calling (rated 8th best album of all-time) nor have you have looked deeply at their lyrics.

  • @tibsnow So why are they on Rolling Stone's list of 100 most important artists of all time? Why is their nickname "The Only Band That Matters"? Why were they such big leaders in the punk movement? Why are you so goddamned stupid? Go fuck yourself. You have horrible taste in music. Fag bitch. Grow some pubes and listen to real music, pussy.

  • @tibsnow Now who are those bands again? Never heard of them. Therefore by your logic those bands are complete and utter shit and so is your taste in music. Now shut the fuck up and go listen to your shit

  • AMG YOU GUYS SEE THAT DANG ARMADILLA?!

  • Great song and great video!

  • Lock the cashbox

  • I still have no idea what this song is supposed to mean, but I really love listening to it! :-D

  • Rock the Casbah-FUCK the casbah! This is NOT Kosher! You know he really hates it!!! haahahah. Loved these guys

  • I have another question to ask: You (The people from the 80's) got young'ens who are listening to your generation's music (80's) but why would you show us how much you hate the songs ? I know you hate your own generation's music (like some of us), but must you try to speak on behalf of people?

  • What is it with this freggin song? I listen to it once and it's stuck in my head for a week...I love it.

  • Whenever I listen to this, I think of my dad singing in the same tune " Rock the cat box..."

  • oil shouldn,t cost so much.Neat song .

  • whoever dislikes this song you can kiss my ASS. RIP JOE STRUMMER.

  • that armadillo is the shit

  • I will rock the Casbah while frequenting the Cash bar

  • Difference back then than now with popular hits is you can actually enjoy them back then. I havent liked a top hit in maybe like 5 years. This video is awesome too, the camo face guy is cool

  • Man what a tune!

  • The only band that matters indeed.

  • Why do young people who listen to music overlooked by other kids in their generation feel the need to tell us their age? We get it, you're 14 and you like this band. Liking 1-5 hit songs/popular singles of a band doesn't mean you actually "like" them necessarily, you know. What the fuck happened to "albums"? Never mind the top 40 charts of today. To all of the younger people out there: love and appreciate the music and artists more - listen to albums. Don't just buy the tee's from Hot-Topic...

  • @DrugStabbingTime

The internet killed 'albums'. It allows people to get only the hits if they so choose, missing all of the hidden gems on the rest of the albums.

  • @DrugStabbingTime I'M 21 AND I LOVE THIS SONG OMG I AM COOLER THAN MY FRIENDS

  • @DrugStabbingTime it just that kids who are into the modern music make the others who listen to songs like this feel like outcasts and that we like to show that we are still keeping this music alive...its not that you are wrong, its just that it puts a smile on my face when i see other kids my age love this song

  • @DrugStabbingTime Cassettes......they force you to listen to albums.

  • @DrugStabbingTime I hear ya!!! That & ya need ta dig deep into the entire history of the 'Super Groups', how they evolved from playing in tiny clubs into being able ta sell out an entire stadium of seats, ina matter of hours!!!

  • @DrugStabbingTime I'm 2 months old and I love this kind of music.

  • I use to think they were saying "Fuck the Asphalt".

  • FAAK

  • This song was so damn good that it actually brought the Arabs & Jews together to watch the Clash in concert at the end of this video. Which begs the question... Why waste time on peace talks when you can just play this bitchin' song?

  • what a creative way to have a mohawk!

  • they're so punk, yet they use a handclap...lololol

  • this songs the shit

  • Another great fuc#ing song OLD SCHOOL $hit best believe that

  • Lock the taskbar, lock the taskbar...

  • @ReconUnit415 LOL nice

  • No, that's "Junktown" by Faster Than Flash. He always listed them as a big influence. Great stuff.

  • ROCK THE CATBOX!!

  • Man, these guys completely ripped off Will Smith....

    ....just kidding folks....

  • The-new-generation-sucks!They-will-never-know-true-musicians-and-bands-like-the-clash.If-we-stop-listening...that's-when-it-dies!

  • Lock the cat box! Lock the cat box!

  • @Wintermutate How do you lock a cat box anyway? lol

  • Each time I get into my car I only listen to songs from the early 80's and late 70's oh and I forgot to say I'm a 17 year old girl and always liked the songs from that time period.

  • well now could be what is happening in Tripoli that brought this song into my head tonight ?

  • once mtv started showing shows like jersey shore, i lost interest in it....

  • Thinks is not kosher!

  • One thing I always liked albout this video is how the lead singer runs back to the drummer over and over again dragging his feet..thats so COOL!!!

  • That armadillo just doesn't give a fuck

  • @LittlePikachu LMAO!

  • @LittlePikachu OMG-LMFAO! I always thought the Armadillo was the best part of the video! :P

  • Comment removed

  • @weridrach

You rock man! But there's still lots of great music being made today. You just got to look a little harder to get past the crap!

  • @JDennis1971 nope. only 80s, 70s, and 90s all 2000 music SUCKS BAWLS!

  • @weridrach aww, you're such a special snowflake. :) so different from our generation, right? i bet you feel better than everyone else.

  • @weridrach Lol, you're not the only one, i'm there with ya

  • @weridrach You are definately not the only one! I am a fellow 14 y/o who loves this band, and hates this generation :)

  • @weridrach Bro, I'm 13.

  • @weridrach oh yea well im 26! lol BFD

  • @weridrach Good for you.

  • @weridrach 15 here, I totally fucking agree. Why can't our generation be this fucking great?

  • @weridrach judging by the fact that 13,873 people say they like this song, and the fact that the extreme majority of Youtube users are from our generation, I would assume that many people from our generation do like this band. Don't hate your generation, it's the only one you're going to get

  • @weridrach u are now cuz i just turned 15 :)

  • @weridrach im 14 and i love this band

  • @weridrach Don't worry, they'll come around eventually. It's more your age than your generation. They are at the stage when they like whatever is popular, and not what is good. In the meantime, enjoy being a really cool 14 year old.

  • @weridrach Go you! Don't hate the generation, just play this music in it! Spread it! lol.

  • @weridrach sorry no

  • @weridrach right here..and you're right. our generation suckssss!!

  • @weridrach you are not the only 14 year old who loves the clash and hates this generation, 3 of my friends are like that and so am i.

  • @weridrach Stfu puss. Appreciate all music.

  • @weridrach it's okay we hate you

  • @weridrach Good music is timeless! This song is 30 years old and The Clash is timeless! Most likely no one will be listening to Eminem or Lady Gaga 30 years from now; but music like Dave Matthews Band and Joss Stone may stand the test of time. Enjoy good music at any age!

  • @j1001s27sw This song charted and came on MTV when I was in elementary school, even though it was essentially a top 40 pop song it was the beginning of a life long love of punk for a suburban kid who would have not found it otherwise. Still a great song 30 yrs later love it as much if not more than I did as a li'l kid and opened up a whole world of music... and yeah the good stuff sticks and the crap falls away, most of what was "hot" in 1982 is laughable now but this song still feels fresh..

  • @weridrach your not the only one :D

  • @weridrach haha I knew there'd be some kid with top comment on here talking about their age and the music they like

  • @weridrach I'm 14 too! :D <3

  • @weridrach and your generation hates you

  • @weridrach Rofl hipster in the making. IM KEWL CUZ I HATE MY GENERATION

  • Hell yeah son! Hits the spot like a doughnut for a cop or cake for a fat kid!

  • a jew and a muslim.......FREAKIN BFF's!!! am i right or what?

  • @cacity40 i wish. well thats why i like this song

  • Best punk band ever! I don't think Rancid will EVER top them. RIP Joe.

  • God i had the biggest crush on Paul Simonon when i was little lmao

  • LOCK THE TASKBAR ! LOCK THE TASKBAR
