Talk about one with the guitar. I have to be honest, I didn't listen to this in the 80's. I was in a drug induced state listening to hard rock/heavy metal. I'm just catching up on some of the best music written in the era. I'm here because of Finn, and I have to tell you, I am so fortunate to be able to log in to YT and find these treasures I overlooked so many years ago. This acoustic show is packed with gems. Thanks for uploading these.
You've rocked my world since 1983 and you always will. Listen to you all the time. Love you forever. Just in case the man wonders. Hearts and flowers to the Finns as well, of course.
I remember watching this on the telly, not really being into Roddy Frame, watching really for Neil Finn... but fuck me this song blew me away and I think Roddy stole the show...:)
@iediah Tysvm for appreciating Roddy, he is one of the 'forgotten'?, Scottish artists, I love him and his music, Happy Hogmanay (Scottish!!, as if u didnt know!) to you and yours, hope the new year brings you good wishes and good luck, all the way from Scotland xxxxx
@Popes11100 How come Scottish people always bragg about anything Scottish but when English people are proud of anything English, the scots accuse them of being little Englanders? I feel the Scottish people are not so nice.
@whitbyjet65 the scots never had an empire, for starters. i agree with you though, english should be allowed to be proud. it's just they aren't very good at it without turning all BNP
Aztec Camera opened for Elvis Costello in August, 1983 in my hometown of Madison, Wisconsin. The power went out for a stretch, and Roddy and the boys did an acoustic version of Oblivious. It was incredible.
Gettin' cross-eyed trying to watch the chords. o_O Awesome performance! :)

Roddy's voice is still like a clear mournful bell. Haven't heard another voice like his since. Amazing.

@mistersnaredrum The English didn't have an empire either. It was the BRITISH empire (that included Scotland, you know).
