I remember going to the zoo last year.....I saw a sumatran Tiger (male) and I simply couldn't believe it was a sumatran tiger.....It was so fit (and that's not what caught me off guard) but sumatran Tigers are supposed to be around 300lbs.....This tiger looked like it could easily take out a lion and it was a sumatran tiger (the smallest subspecies of tiger).....It blew me away - I just couldn't believe how muscular and large it was (and this was at a zoo! the enclosure was very big though)...

I'm pretty sure that anatomically, Tigers and Lions are very similar. But you have to remember that Tigers are the more upbeat cat - the ones that travel long distances daily to roam their territories. They also always hunt their own food alone, thus giving them another means of exercise. Tigers also love to swim and that's definitely a full body workout. Lions are very powerful animals, but Tigers are the most powerful cats on earth today....it's just a fact....

Tigers have stronger limb proportions compared to the lion. This is pound to pound, and a tiger is heavier to begin with, so this means a tiger is substantially stronger than a lion. Tiger>Lion.
