  • Please review the M&P 22 handgun!

  • love my M&P9, 17 in the mag and 1 down the pipe, feels good in the hand and shoots flawless.

  • If there is a mag safety, I don't want it. my two cents

  • "But, again, if you can't solve the problem...most problems with that type of firepower...17+1, you might want to run away"

Literally made me laugh out loud. Too funny.

Thanks NutNFancy. Your review strengthens my resolve of getting the M&P9.

  • if its good enough for nutnfancy. its good enough for me. picking up mine next week.

  • Love this gun. The only problem I have is that the casings tend to go backwards rather than to the right

  • The M&P PRO has a much better trigger. Nutnfancy mentioned the lighter trigger pull, but the re-set is shorter as well, compared to the standard M&P.

Night sights are not standard on the PRO model. Fiber optic front sight is standard.

  • would you recommend this over a sig p226?

  • Okay, so this has probbably been done a million times before, but which striker fired pistol (Glock, M&P, XDM, PPQ etc) is better? (as in best sights, most comfortable grip, smoothest trigger type criteria)

  • i got one and i love it!!! im buying the 40 cal

  • Anyone know if the M&P9 sights will fit on a M&P22? Just bought one (love it, runs great with CCI minimags) but it does not have the 3 dot sights I want.

  • After 1,000 rounds in my M&P9, I thought I made a mistake. After 2,000 rounds, I LOVE IT.

  • This is the second or third time I have watched this video. After watching this video the first time my mind was changed. I thought it was a Glock wanabe. After watching this video, started to look at the M&P more closely. Long store short, I am a M&P fan. For my next pistol, I am going to get a Glock 23 4 gen of an M&P 40. I am leaning more towards the M&P. Thanks for the good reviews.

  • Gotta get this moved to mobile, like right meow

  • Quick data point for lefties like myself. If you swap the mag release around to the right side of gun so you can use your thumb, you may get reliability issues. In my case, with the magazines that came with my gun, the magazine release detent was snagging on the magazine follower, as it has no clearance on left side. As soon as I flipped the mag release back around to the right handed position, I had no more feeding issues.

    Something to consider.

  • amazing!! LOVE IT^

  • I live in south Florida and found out i spoke to some of the Law enforcement officers in the area. They use the M&P 40mm as the standard issue for the county here

  • i carry the m&p evreyday at my job as an armored car guard and i love it

  • How good is the trigger on the PRO models? Is it worth buying if i can find a regular model with night sights on it already?

  • stock, the XD trigger blows M&P out of the water. I know, I own both.

  • I just bought one today YESSS!!!!!!!

  • Love the videos man I have the M&P9 it rocks 9000 plus rounds not a jam its amazing please check out my channel sometime man shotsfired100 thanks

  • I have the m&p 45 threaded barrel kit and ditto on the xcellent ergos. I'd point out the extraordinary groups of the CZ 75/85 at 4:48. If only CZs weren't sooo heavy and had better triggers.

  • Have the .40. Reliable as hell and comfortable as can be. Just expensive to shoot heh.

  • What kind of ear protection are you using at the begining of the vedio?

  • got mine on 16/01 :D

    Nice vidéo, thx

  • I have been carrying a full size M&P9 concealed for almost a year now (crossbreed supertuck). Although I never fail to carry, I will admit that it has become tiresome.

  • Comment removed

  • Just bought one!!!

  • what's with the annotation at 19:40...?

  • I'm planning on getting an m&p for christmas and it will be my first handgun. Im having a hard time deciding whether to get a 9 or a .40. I've shot both but still can't decide. Any suggestions?

  • @NickcFilo 9 - cheaper to feed and you can afford to practice more. Defensive ammunition makes the distinction between a 9 and 40 largely null and void.

  • @NickcFilo 9 probably. It's a little cheaper to fire (which will be a huge deal because you'll need to train a lot with it if you're new to hand guns). A good defensive round in a 9 will easily put a bad guy down if you need it to.

  • nutnfancy gone tecno with the music lol

  • Been thinking about this as a Christmas present. Was re-watching to refresh on some of your thoughts. Noticed that at 13:33 you got beaned by a shell. Made me grin. M&P9 vs Walther PPQ? Just get both huh? Maybe M&P in 9 and the PPQ in .40? Thoughts?

  • @pbc95124 i'd go ppq in 9 and MP in .40..capacity reasons. and from what i understand the MP has better recoil reduction

  • @turbofister5000 Thanks. Great input. Time to go down to my fav toy store :)

  • anyone else here have the 22 round mags?

  • After a day at the range testing out a M&P40 and 45 I went to the local shop the next day and placed an order for the 40. Awesome pistol!

  • anybody ever have the magazine release button fail on you. after about 1500 ish rounds my mag would fall out after every shot. i will say tho that smith immediately sent me new parts.

  • Dont shoot the M and P 40 with wolf it will chew up the guide rod and not function right

  • @higherlearning141 could be isolated, but I have heard the m&p's have many issues. the general assumption people think is that if nutnfancy has an all dandy expierence, we all will to and if he doesnt watch or trust the forums we shouldnt too. :P try out some of dem inaccurate forums if you need expert advice for free

  • @jimmyhoffa9 Could you re write this to make sense?

  • @anthe there are allot of people who believe that if nutn promotes something, then there are no issues with it and its awesome. there are many forums that can help you with issues if you have them,.

  • my M&P40 has gone through over 2000 rounds without any issues at all and Ive shot all kinds of ammo... Love it!

  • @2high2aim same here, i will go with both

  • Looking forward to a pro series review.

  • @NifoOtiBoy sig pro?

  • I will be purchasing my first handgun and will be getting the M&P but I have a hard time between .40 or the 9mm. I have had some range time with the .40 but have not shot the 9mm, which would you recommend?

  • @2high2aim

IMO your first centerfire handgun should be 9mm. Ammo is cheaper than .40, often by a considerable margin. You'll be able to shoot a lot more 9x19 for a given $ amount. Felt recoil and muzzle blast is less than a .40. This will help you gain skill & confidence. Capacity is a bit more in 9mm as well. More rounds are never a bad thing, all else being equal. As for "stopping power," there is essentially no difference between 9 & 40. Use good ammo & fear not for your safety.

  • @wildcatactual much agreed on this comment Sir! I'm about to get my first centerfire handgun (a Gen 4 Glock 17) for all the reasons stated here. Will eventually branch out to other calibers/platforms too, but for simplicity, lack of recoil, and most important to me, economy, I'm going with a 9mm. And for those who say 9mm isn't enough power, I still say it's nothing I wanna get shot by. Peace!

  • Getting a message on my iPad that reads "the content owner has not made this video available on mobile". Would u please make it so I may access/view in my iPad. Thank u and keep up the great videos.

  • Wow, I wanna know more on the AK your running in some of those video cut

  • You should do the m&p 9mm vtac i would really like to know more about this model if m&p.

  • @BekkerOnGunsNHunting The Vtac is very similar to the M&P you see here, BUT there are a few things you shuld know. The finish in the V Tac is a beige/sand color. This finish marks and wears from a holster immediately.

  • @BekkerOnGunsNHunting Also the finish adds more to the weight and is a thicker coat than the black Melonite and this makes the gun functionirregular for the first few hundred rounds and cretes a larger BREAK-in period during this period brass will hit you in the face, but eventually it all works out. Also the V tac't most impressive feature is the sights. Here is the kicker though.

  • @BekkerOnGunsNHunting You can get the standard M&P and slap the V Tac sights on it and never have to worry about the multiple problems with the finish. All-in all, Avoid the V tac simply for the crappy finish.

  • @djericexcel I have not had any issue with the finish on the vtac but the sights are garbage and i do not recommend them to anyone even the tactical operator i changed them out for a pair of trijicon bright and toughs and there great sights.. When it comes to the vtac sights having using them for 2000 rounds and having multiple issues with them there are total junk...

  • My first carry gun is the m&p 9mm.

Love breaking it down and cleaning it. :D

  • I love my M&P! The comfortable yet strong grip, the all-round rugged balance when handling and it's something the Southpaws can shoot with too. A great American made firearm worth looking!

BTW, good points for your use of the "mission well accomplished" kind of music for this video.

  • i had an m&p9 years ago and it had a defective barrel, not thinking and blaming it on "plastic guns" i sold it and bought a browning hi power. i love the hi power but i do miss that m&p, i should have contacted smith&wesson and had them replace the barrel

  • Love my M&Pc 9

  • @556Med me too...i have 3 !

  • @556Med hey, just curious, have you carried you M&Pc 9 at all?

  • Forgot to ask,,,what is the trigger operation most like ? Glock where the striker is half cocked, or XD where the striker is fully cocked ?

    Thanks.

  • Thanks for another informative review. There are several pistols I've bought recently where your reviews helped me make the decision. I just bought a Sig P226, HK USP 9, FNP-9, and Glock 19. Looks like the M&P-9 is going to be next.

  • Just a heads up for you. I live in MA, and would warn anyone looking to buy a MA compliant M&P that the state requires a 10lb trigger pull for retail sale on any double action gun. I bought the M&P9, and I'm not alone in thinking the trigger is absolutely horrific (worst I've ever used by a wide margin). I have bought the Apex Tactical duty carry action enhancement kit and will update you once I've installed it and gotten some rounds downrange.

  • I own a S&W M&P in .45ACP Full Size, I cant agree more with Nutn, Amazing weapon. VERY accurate, reliable, no failures of any time after 600+ sent downrange, excellent feel in-hand (med. grip prefered but all are ok). With this weapon I DO disagree with one point, if you need more than 11 (10+1) of .45ACP/230 gr hollowpoints, then you dont need to be shooting, you should be running. But, you can get extension and up you count to 14/magazine.

  • i had a choice between the m&p 9($520) and the sd9($480). looked at both internals dry fired both. the only reason i went with the sd9 is the mags looked exactly like the mags for my sigma and they work fine its a good pistol but i want the m&p too. to me side by side with a glock 17 the m&p is a way better more solid gun just like my sp2022.gotta get a 1911 next tho. nice weapon

  • I am thinking of getting the M&P40 compact. Have there been any complaints with the compact version of the gun?

  • Man where is this filmed? Its beautiful out there.

  • the m&p line is awesome. i've had the .45 for a year and i love it. i'm getting the M&P9c in a week to use as my concealed carry. my father carries the .40s&w. would recommend these guns for any level shooter. very reliable deffinately earned the hand gun of the year award for 2007.

  • If I didnt want to be a well rounded shooter, I would own nothing but M&P variants in my collection. The thing is just bet your life reliable, and stupidly fast to shoot if you grip a hand gun like you should. thumbs up if you agree!

  • Some of the ejected shells are coming right at your face, i think i seen a couple bounce off your hat lol.

  • The L.A. County Sheriffs Department has now started to issue the M&P 9mm to new recruits in the academy instead of the Beretta.

  • I'm I the only one noticing spent casings repeatedly hitting him in the head?

  • @rogermcgee1 Yeah that made me laugh too

  • Comment removed

  • @TheNicks6 He must have a bad ejector and/or extractor. M&P wouldn't be as successful as they are if they all did this. My new M&P40c is a dream come true and ironically, I'm going to go pick up my new M&P40 full sized right now.

  • @rogermcgee1 he is cross dominant so he gets the case to the face

  • @702Pierce What do you mean by cross dominant?

  • @rogermcgee1 he is a right handed shooter whos left eye is dominant so he puts the gun alittle more left and that causes the cases to hit him

  • @702Pierce Thanks, I realized it shortly after posting question but i really don't think that's the cause. The brass was shooting straight back to his face/head. His pistol probably has a bad ejector. My new M&Ps shoot the brass 5 yds. directly to the right.

  • @rogermcgee1 4sure he has a bad ejector that was kind of ridiculous how the brass was shooting out

  • @702Pierce that has nothing to do with it.

  • @rogermcgee1 the only way i remember i already saw this video is because i remember reading your comment lol

  • @msauim Oh cool, glad i could help. BTW, both my new M&P40c and M&P40 are two 100% dream come true pistols. AWESOME.

  • @rogermcgee1

I am seeing the same thing. Every time Nutnfancy shoots the pistol he is getting pelted with brass in the head. This is the same problem a lot of guys are having with their Gen4 Glocks (and late model Gen3). Has Nutn addressed this? Is this normal for the M&P?

  • I am glad to see Nutnfancy work that gun !

  • I'd love to see a review of the .45 and/or .45 compact versions...

  • I LOVE THIS HANDGUN!!! It is my edc gun, and I cannot live with out it.

  • i picked up a slightly used one in 40 s&w today for $420. looks like it had less then 100 rounds threw it. not even a sign of barrel wear. wish it was a 9mm but hey could not pass up a deal like that. i like the grip more then the glock and the trigger on it is alot better in my opinion. good video.

  • @dp665 I prefer the 40 myself, why do you prefer the 9? Just curious. Thx

  • @fwfrazorx 9mm is cheaper to practice with, mags hold more ammo. and i feel shot placement is key. if you shoot someone center of mass with either a 9 or a 40 they more then likely will go down with 1 or 2 rounds. i can shoot a 40 just fine. there is not that much recoil difference between the two. but 9 is easier to shoot. i would rather have that little edge of ease of shooting when high stress situations come into play.

  • @nutnfancy you look left eye dominant shooting this, are you? If so, do you have any tips for a fellow "left eyer" right hander?

  • This is a response video? Then why is it 20 minutes! Too long dude!

  • ihave a g26 gen3. . strongly leaning toward an m&p9 to add to the collection

  • I'm sure it's a fine pistol, but for some reason I find it absolutely hideous.

I like the Glock 17 or Ruger SR9 a lot better.

  • Can I get some opinions on the M&P, XD, Sig, or SR9. Which out of these do y'all think is best? I can't decide.

  • @iLikeGuns88 i have the sub compact xd40 and the sub compact m&p 9 both are great guns and ive had no problems from either. However the m&p seems a tad more comfortable for carry but that could possibly be because its a 9mm and the xd is a 40 caliber. Go to your gun shop and pick them up see how they feel to you i think its hard to go wrong either way. Hope this helps

  • @generalsballa67 I've shot my friend's xd40 and it's a nice gun and I'm to a gun store here in a few weeks so I'll try to handle as many pistols as possible. Thanks for your feed back.

  • @iLikeGuns88 m&p or sr9 would be my faves from those

  • @aulvalenzuela21 thanx

  • @iLikeGuns88 no problem dude!

  • I recently bought the M&P9. Im not happy with this handgun. First time shooting it the white on the front sight fell off!! It is suppose to have 10 round mags but there is no why 10 rounds will go in there. It will only take 9. The magazine disconnect is a pain in the ass and a terrible feature. The trigger reset is weak and feels really cheap compared to glocks. The slide sometimes doesn't lock back after firing the last round.

  • in my experience they make a better target then a gun i'm surprised that thing lasted a year

  • @masterofnotmuch2 I have an XD .40 sub. The little gun is awesome. Indestructible.

  • @stainless1911 ya i wanted to get xdm in 9mm but the only place that have them around me is gander mountain and they want $700 for one i can order one for alot less though and the small gun shop near me is supposed to be getting some soon and there gun prices are good

  • @masterofnotmuch2 Have you tried buying directly from Springfield Armory? Go to thier site, they will have a link to places that they trust to make a proper sale. I paid 530 for my XD. If I were you, I would let Springfield Armory know that the gander mountain is ripping off its customers, and costing them valuable sales.

  • @stainless1911 i'll have to give them a look see and let them know

  • great videos! i would like to see a review of a Steyr pistol though

  • One thing I dont like about my M&P is not safety... Ill have to replace this pistol if I want a reliable concealed weapon. Other than that it makes a great fun shooting pistol or even a great home defense pistol. I would not carry my M&P around with me as a concealed because of that reason.

  • @Wolfstanus it has every safety any other gun has

  • @joeratti I own the gun mine does not have a safety... Does not have the lock safety or the manuel safety or the All it has is the mag sear (not a real safety feature) take down lever and slide stop. I own the gun I know what it has and what it does not have. My model of M&P .40 does not have a safety.

  • @Wolfstanus thats because you bought one without any safety, not counting the trigger and striker block. i have the same gun as you and i bought it that way on purpose. it does have an option, though, for a thumb safety and/or magazine safety

  • @joeratti Thats why i said "my M&P" and I would not use it as a concealed weapon because the lack of safeties. I bought it for home defense and range shooting nothing more I didn't want it with any as im only going to have it loaded when im about to fire it at a range or when I slam a clip in after geting it out of the lockbox for defending my home.

  • @Wolfstanus guess i missed the "my" part. i actually prefer that setup for conceal carry so i dont have to worry about anything but pulling the trigger if it comes time

  • @joeratti I only want the safety on the back of the grip. other than that no other safeties. Im thinking of getting the Rock Island 1911 compact .45, the XD compact .40, the M&P compact .40 for concealed carry.

  • @AdverbAdjective I enjoy my M&P .. but i dont trust my life with it ..

  • @MrSNIPERRecon

    why?

  • This is an awesome weapon! I tried the m&p9 vs a glock 19 and the m&p won. It was much more accurate and the groups tighter & it looked better than the glock. I was so impressed that I went back home with an M&P.

  • @AdverbAdjective i had a Couple Misfires .. and then Did a Dirt test .. Failed .. Water Test Failed .. but then again the M&P9mm has only been around for 5 years .. when the glocks have been around for 20+ years . to work out the bugs ... there both Great pistols .. Just the Glock has better Realibtly and Track Record .. The M&P has some great features .. built in Tool backstraps and m1913 stail rai ..

  • @MrSNIPERRecon man that sucks! I'm @ 9,000 rounds and counting... absolutely no problems what so ever! Love the gun (M&P 9mm with APEX trigger/sear kit and RAM installed at around 6,000 rounds) I'll be buying the Pro .40 S&W next! I'll take it over a Glock absolutely any day! (my preference)

  • Whats the difference between this and the SD9?

  • I own the M&P 45, I have had zero reliability issues. very Accurate, I use the factory 10 round mags for most range shooting, and I have an extended 14 round magazine I put in it when I put it in the lockbox for home defense. It adds an extra like..inch or so to the length of the handle and some weight but it gives me peace of mind having a few extra. home defense ammo i've shot Hornady 200gr TAP FPD 45 Auto +P no issues and various range ammo FMJ 230gr no issues there either.

  • hey nutnfancy, would you prefer a glock 17 3rd gen, or a s&w m&p9 ?

  • I have shot thousands of round through my M&P without any issues.

  • hey nuntnfacy have tired any of the Arredondo Extended Magazine Base Pad S&W M&P they add +6 in 9mm and +5 in .40 so it puts it over glock if u dont count the 33 rd mag. got my MP 40 on the way to go with my MP 9 and MP15

  • I shoot with this M&P today the first time, what an excellent gun.

  • Between the Glock 21 and S&W M&P45, which handgun would you prefer for a home defense role?

  • @joshcorvette Glock 21 ,... i had a M&P9mm for home Defense . swaped it out for a glock just due to Realiblty

  • Nice gun love mine, was wondering what your thoughts were on the APEX drop in trigger kit.

opps you addressed the Apex I should have finished the Vid first :)

    Keep up the good work.

  • Nice gun love mine, was wondering what your thoughts were on the APEX drop in trigger kit.

    Keep up the good work.

  • i bought mine after seeing the first video and i have 1500rds through it with no malfunctions and i love it, thanks nutn

  • Dear Nutnfancy

Could you do a review of the SD series by S&W? Preferably the SD9?

Thanks and I love watching your videos.

  • 4:37 You didn't shoot any cats now did ya, Nutn...? ;]

  • @RECONDO101st then dont watch them?

  • @Danstheman1357 Thanks Dan, but Recondo is blocked just like his previous channel, Sabonim4thdan. YouTube keeps kicking him off for being offensive and trolling, and he keeps crawling back out from under his slimey old rock. He's not welcome here under any name. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy thank you haha, I dont understand why people come on here to bash you guys, you do great work and I enjoy the videos!

  • I've owned an XD, Glock, and M&P. I'm sticking with the M&P even though, I liked all of them.

  • I bought the "compact" version, it fits nicely in my vibe II fanny pack. I love this gun I have only put 500 rounds through it and have had zero problems.

  • Definitely considering this pistol. when i become of age. Its on my list for sure.

  • clippin toenails by lordfarkwad777... freakin awesome video! I think nutn would love it

  • Dear Nutinfancy

After watching a multitude of your videos (which are AMAZING!) I have noticed that handgun recoil seems a bit rough. I mean no disrespect sir. Have you looked into Magpul Dynamics Dynamic Handgun video and courses? They have a great method of recoil control. Again I mean no disrespect, and as always it comes down to what works for you. Thank you for all your awesome reviews and please keep them coming!

  • If someone starts shooting people at the mall, you dont have time to put on your safety glasses. At 4:35 nutnfancy gets spent casings on the head, is there a problem with that?

  • People want to watch this video to hear about an actual american made gun (M&P 9) they dont want to hear and see everything compared to an Austrian hunk of junk.

  • i wanna see nutn in a magpul dynamics video

  • What are the ricochet sounds about?

  • well crap i sent him a request to review the m&p .40 and .45 but here is the 9mm. i feel like a fool. lol hope he still reviews the higher caliber cause those are the ones that always have problems you know.

  • @Rustystud Would you go for a G22 Gen 4 or a smith wesson mp40 ?

    why

  • Any chance of a review of the M&P9 Compact? Would it be good for EDC?

  • Ha bought a FS .40 because of this video!

  • Any chance of getting a SD9 review?

  • you should do a sd40 review

  • Comment removed

  • weak. no safariland holster with weaponlight options

  • @nutnfancy I am just wondering if that is a Serpa level 2 holster or just a regular Serpa holster?

  • Does it have a hard to pull trigger?

  • Can you do one on the SD9

  • @kdm1217 you should pm him im sure hed answer

  • Since my last entry , Our armorer has advised S&W they have 2 years to solve this quality control issue. He also advised S&W Gov. sales rep said they are working on it. I am on my second complete M&P . 8 mos. ago I got my third slide. Also the mag spring broke. You cannot treat this gun like a Glock. My 8 mos old slide is already showing excessive holster wear. No rust ,but I must baby it . It belongs in a box. I would never touch an M&P or a Glock with solvent ,ever.Factory advised.

  • Just selected as service pistol for the Belgian federal police beating FNH.

  • Nut 'n: Another great video. I'm going to be in town tomorrow, and I'm buying one of these with the external safety (I really want that) for $525. Not a bad price. Really looking forward to it.

  • @neangler 360 where live

  • I've recently bought one of these myself, but not a pro series, and I have to say, I AM LOVING IT!!! First of all, it is such a beautiful weapon, unlike the Glocks. It is accurate . It feels fan-fuckin-tastic in hand(I have small hands so i have the smallest back strap on mine). Oh, and did I mention is is a BEAUTIFUL weapon?!

  • Lol, love the Sims music :D And love the gun, so this must be the perfect video :)
