Videodrome's visual's are grotesquely vivid: depraved s&m t.v. transmissions that evolve it's viewer's into programmable slaves, vaginal slits in chest cavities where cassette's are inserted; standard Cronenberg metaphors
You successfully turned an artistic masterpiece of a trailer (for 1980's) into another shitty popcorn-motion-shit-picture trailer. Neither a cut from the original ost was used, it sounded like the crippled version of Halloween... And please please please please please please please don't use that egyptian font. What's to be told must be told, much love anyway, peace.
NIce work!!!! I like when the guy reaches into James Woods gut. He reaches too far and goes into the hole in the wall. OOPS!! You should listen to the Cronnenberg commentaries. The guy is completely bonkers. He claims to have invented stem cell therapy/technology and the use of psychiatric drugs. I guess he preceded Freud.
I totally prefer modern trailers.Old trailers are corny and give too much of the story away. This trailer would've been even better if you finished it off with Debbie H saying "Come to Niki". x
THATS how you make fucking trailers, fuck, all those trailers outhere suck, modern or old, doesnt matter, point is they fail to give you a basic idea of what the movie is about and fail to impress you in the trailers.
Wow... I never thought a trailer would create such strong feelings in people. I think that's great though! I welcome all for your opinions, whether it's compliments or criticism.
The bottom line? I think it's great you all love this film so much. I love film trailers almost as much as the films themselves. I began modernizing old film trailers as a means of trying to generate more interest in classic films like this, and my hope is that more people watch this film because that. cheers!
@req46 ignore the negative critiques and know that you did an outstanding job here! this is better than "professional" trailers I've seen; you've captured the essence of the film perfectly!
The original made me wonder if it was worth seeing, this sold me. Probably a generational thing. Actually, definitely a generational thing. Either way, Videodrome, here I come.
Well, I just seen this movie and "American Psycho" seemed like a blatant yet dumbed down rip off of this wonderful thought provoking film...Love this movie, every scene kept me guessing and thinking what was really going on...
@Butterfly15323 It's incredibly prophetic, and captures early 80s Toronto perfectly (inc a great satire on CityTV). Sort of like the Canadian film industry's version of "Network". But it is very gory and mature, so be warned :-)
@symbal777 Well, I guess each to his own. In case with Videodrome, I believe that the majority of people wouldn't prefer an 80's soundtrack with incredibly cheezy graphics and corny editing to something a little more modern. I also feel most trailers of the 70's and even 80's are way too long and dragged out and give too much of the plot away to a point that you can practially guess the film. That's part of the purpose of "modernizing" some of them.
@req46 I've actually been trying to find that 80's song from the trailer forever but I like new wave and synths so it might just be me. As for the so-called "cheezy" graphics, I personally thought they were awesome. I was kind of disappointed they weren't actually in the movie (which I liked anyway). I'll agree that the editing in some old trailers could use some better pacing, but I agree with symbal that this video makes me realize how underwhelming the current style of trailers is.
@req46 Yeah I hate it when I look at a film, and think i wanna see that in a minute, and then you watch the trailer, and u see the ending, u see the twist, U see the main character get double crossed by his best friend, and theres really no point in even watching it then, i like ur trailer! :D
Awesome! VIDEODROME is probably my favourite film of all time, seen it a million times, but your updated trailer makes me want to watch it right now! Well done.

What abut 8MM, Hostel 1 & 2, Martyrs and other shockers? did they reminded you of Videodrome? this is one of the original torture porn films.
