Although I have never needed glasses to read, my reading-vision is much better now; I can see in a more detailed manner. I do wear spectacles for Myopia; I am sure I got said vision obstacle due malpractice; too bad I did not file...
Are you sure your eyes look super big with your reading-glasses on? From what perspective? They look fine to me.
Ha, ha! I just got glasses, too, Nikitejay. Took me a little bit to get used to them. They're square-ish like yours, and i couldn't get used to the fact that I had to move my head for everything to stay in focus. If I moved just my eyes up or down, I would look past the edges of the frames and things would be blurry.
!!! Tell me about it! LOL! It's been 8 months now and I'm STILL getting used to them! I find myself suffering at work trying to read stuff when I look down at paperwork away from my monitor and it's all yucky. Then I remember "Oh! My Glasses!" So I haul them out, prop them onto my nose and proceed with the eyes up and down, monitor - no lenses, paper - looking down through the lenses. It's a tricky balancing game. Ah, age. ... LOL! Good luck with yours!
@xgmb45 I act it too, push-over, softy, crazy adventurous, etc. Hey, not bad for someone who smoked for 23 years, huh? I guess I quit just in time! LOL!
Hey Nikita...Just started tuning in to you...Yes we've all been there...it sucks!...I wore mine for about a year or so....hated every day of it....they made me look 10 yrs. older. (not the case w/you) so I switched to contacts.
Hey Tom! Welcome!!!! Thanks for the complement..er.. advice? er.. something ... LOL! I don't think I could put a contact in my eye. I watch my husband do it every week-end before we embark upon our out door adventures and it looks like a weary task! But that's what an out-doorsy person must do! "No Glasses for YOU! " (in the dialect of "Seinfeld's" "Soup Nazi"....
It's been a long time Lamb! Nice to hear from you! Thanks for the compliment! I'm finding that I really can't read a thing with out them! Aghast! Growing old!
Really good choice of frames. The lenses don't make your eyes that big, just slightly bigger. A friend of mine has reading glasses (she's in her early 20s) and she had the same problem as you - everything was blurry when she looked any further than a few feet away with glasses on. She found that the more often she 'practised' looking at a distance the further away she could see through her glasses. She can now wear them without needing to take them off or look over them to see a distances.
Glasses look great, plus everyone has at least 1 flaw and if no longer having 20/20 is your cross to bear so be it ........I have 20/10 and they tell me that its better than pefect sooooooo Ill come read to you
I know... I think I'm having the same issue lately and have been sad... but seeing how lovely your glasses look on you, it doesn't seem so bad after all! Thanks for the inspiration!
You look great with the glasses, it actually looks very fashionable, and the way you wear them down low actually seems to enhance your eyes. Definitely nothing old-ladyish about it! :) Have a great weekend, Nikita! :)
I am surprised you did not opt for contacts? I have some which work for my vision which has become like yours. At first I was nearsighted, and that has altered to my needing something for close up reading as well.
Blargal, I didn't know that aliens needed to take corrective measures to procure better vision. I thought you were all ...well.... flawless.
On the contacts note, I couldn't because of the nature of my bad eyesight. It's only bad when reading tiny type (which I have to do a lot of). When I look up and away, the whole world is a blur with them on, clear as a bell when I look down... see? LOL!
When I purchased my spectacles I became a spectacle...or should I say spectickle. I had the very same thought, to become a teacher. I currently teach courses on barefooting and tickle torture. Enrollment is absolutely free and the classes are ongoing. It's so very nice to see you again, my dear.
Youb arevabsolutely gorgeous in glasses.

@jjojjorge You'd have to see my eyes through the lenses to know what I'm talking about. They are really big magnifiers!

@nikitejay They did looked a little bigger, but not much. =) But yeah I guess you're right.
