  • Poor baby! It was so nice of you to get him or her until better

  • i got attacked by mocking birds once and i didnt even do anything they just attacked me for no reason ive hated them evar since they're cute as babies though :D

  • @MMBNM I know what it's like! However, gotta give them some credit, because Mockingbirds only attack when they have youngsters to protect, like every good parent :-).

  • @MissDolittle ......I hate that excuse....."they're just protecting the babies" .....oldest excuse in the book.

Maybe if the stupid parents built a better nest and didn't have babies falling out of the nest......they wouldn't be in a position to be over-protective and have their babies exposed to danger....most people try to help!!

If a bird attacked me by flying at my head, they would be getting the back of my hand ....real fast!!....No law against self defense.

  • so cute. poor little guy. do u know what it means when a baby bird wont stand on its feet it like stands on his leg elbows. its called something else but its really long and hard to pronounce. If u dont mind me asking what do u think would be wrong with it. thanks

  • @applebottumsxoxo1 Do you mean Metabolic Bone Disease? That's what happens when the bird doesn't get enough calcium and sunlight and the bones start breaking from just standing on them.

  • ahhh *covers ears* stop this!!!

  • They might. I had to patch one up that had been attacked by a cat and it wound up missing a toe and another being a partial. we called him Quasimodo because of some other damage. We had to patch him up twice as a fledgling but he had excellent parents he tended to him during this time. he survived to adulthood and was seen one year later down the street. he cannot fly as high as the others but he has somehow managed to compensate.

  • awe, poor thing. Broken toes? Will it ever get better? Or will you have to 'put it down' :(

  • Only one way to find out. Give it some more time. I have seen birds with one leg being able to hop around and land just fine. Hopefully the baby will learn to compensate while growing up. We'll see.
