You shouldn't of had a jailbreak/custom firmware on the iPhone 2G. We all know the iP4 will win but the custom firmware puts a strain on weaker 412Mhz processor of the 2G.

I don't mean to cause offense. But I did just want to say like you said earlier. Of course the iPhone 4 is gonna win. But some of us don't have the money to get it. Haha frankly its freakin expensive! Is the original iPhone speed for wifi (depending on the network) not that terrible? I am buying one from my friend (at least until i get the 4 or even a 3GS). I am just dying to have one of them. Your original iphone isn't THAT slow though. Is it worth buying an original until i can get the new??

Another unfair test. The 2G was jailbroken and had MobileSubstrate extensions installed. What's worse is that you didn't even clear the history/cache/cookies beforehand, OR completely close all of the tabs.

@RazorbladeRay Actually when the iPhone 2G first came out for the 8GB without contract was $600 and I got mine on the first day of the original release. The iPhone 4 16Gb without contract is $600 so it was a fair comparison. As both are smartphones. Also it wasn't suppose to be a price comparison but more of a speed demo.

One problem with the comparison. The 2G is jailbroken and it is common knowledge that jailbreaking your iphone makes it lag a lot. I know I had my 3G jailbroken and it just crawled. Make one after you restore the 2g back to factory settings.

@kc7gnm Actually I don't have like any cydia packages installed on the 2g. I also timed everyday test when it wasn't jailbroken and when it was and it is actually faster jailbroken. Because of some hacks that I've done.

While I think it is extremely cool that you can theme iOS 3 by using "iFile" or "SSH" I don't know how to use either programs. It would be awesome if you made a video on how to access the files on your iPhone using those programs in complete detail since I know nothing.
