@aaron8314 , This is Hawaii and I'm guessing you are not a diver in Hawaii. Sooo.....first you must understand that the nick name for octopus in Hawaii is "squid". Yes, octopus are a Mollusc like other squids and cuttlefish, but yes totally different orders or super orders-Marine biology background :) -. Second, because this is Hawaii again, Octopus here are totally different in species which means different catching techniques and average size. Nuff said

It was the perfect drop because I hid from the joes and they came to check me out, except the surge pushed them too close and screwed up my shot, but I got lucky before they ran.
