i'm doing a social studies project on the khmer rouge. it was pretty bad. :( i dont understand what they were talking about when they started discussing the argkor empire and thai invasion. I'm glad i learned about this though.
@halomaster576 Im not surprised that he was in it, its how it is fight to survive im not saying you dad was a bad person he probably just just to survive.
Vietnam in the 60's and 70's is so bad ass. Total liberators if you ask me. First they throw out the Americans and unify their country. Then they beat back a failed invasion by China and then liberate Cambodia from the evil clutches of the Khmer Rouge! GO VIETNAM! If only Ho Chi Minh lived to see his country in action. He'd be proud.
At the beginning of this preview is the animated intro for the BBC's Assignment series, for which this film was originally co-produced, along with FR3 in France, and WDR in Germany.
I don't intent to sound colonial, neither do I support the colonialism of Cambodia but I often wonder how different things would be had we stay under France. Meaning, would we have become more influential globally and more developed? Even more so then the 'tigers" Thailand or the "crocodile" Vietnam? Even though colonialism imposes the beliefs/tradition, or even religion, of those foreigners, I believe that the Khmer are deeply rooted and will never internally submit, will always be Khmer.
I still don't see where someone supposedly found info that the killing fields didn't or don't exist...obviously it was wrong but where was this so called fact checking mission done? I was not there...I don't want to have been there...I'm sorry that anyone was ever there.
Did you live through the KR's regime or not? If so, you would never ever say that the KR did not kill anyone. I did live through it and confirm that the KR and not the Vietnamese killed many of his countrymen.
Please do respect the deceased and do not transform the truth to lies. Thank you!
Finally a video that proves that Cambodia use to own most of southeast Asia! I have many friends that don't believe me when I say it now I can show them and prove to them that it was proven fact that we did/
It is true that Vietnamese is behind the killing during Khmer Rouge regime.
Cambodia is like a virgin girl that was raped by America and Vietnam, so everything was destroyed. Now these fucking shit countries take no responsibility, it is very ashame, let them go to the hell........
The KR are responsible, dont try to shift the blame. The KR ran the country during 75 to 79 & that's when the killings happened. The Vietnamese occupied Cambodia from 79 to 89, so i dont see how they could be responsible.
A lot of the former KR cadres in the north west of the country would tell the their kids that the Viets were responsible for the killings.
Hey hey hey. Let me just say this. Cambodia was in the middle of the Vietnam War and the Vietnamese hid in our fields and ever heard of Nixon's bombing of Cambodia? Well do your research and tell me what you think.
One thing is, the killing fields don't exists. The second, you guys need to do your research. During the beginning of the Khmer Rouge Regime and genocide started when the Vietnamese traveled into the Cambodian's borders to hide in the fields. And ever heard of the Pentagon Papers of Nixon's bombing of Cambodia? I'll let you guys finish the research.
Operation "Menu", was the secret bombings held in Cambodian territory and it wasn't Nixon, it was passed onto Nixon from the previous administration who kicked it off. Research is great, but seeing it first hand is better. Get your facts straight. Ask the millions who had lost their kin to this...next you'll probably tell us the Viet. war was a hoax.
Little girl before you have the audacity to tell people to do their research make sure you do yours correctly. Spoken like a naïve extremist with irrelevant info about Nixon bombing, you are seriously mistaken if you think the killing fields didnt exist. I wont be surprised if you also think the holocaust didnt exist cause you probably wouldnt realize reality if it smack you upside the head. Do everyone a favor and keep learning you definitely need it.
The truth hurts no one, except for those who are ignorant, like yourself. Ignorance and racial hatred of Vietnamese or any other nationality of humanity will not get you any nearer to the truth. The blind cannot see the light even if you try to describe it to them.
Thank you for the documentary .These Pol Pot follower young fighter had hight spirit nationalism. The Viet.took over their country because Viet. agent already in their government .They trick ,they spoiled, they triggered the killing and finally they broke their government.
