I got to meet Charlie yesterday...very down to earth person, very funny. He led worship at a local church in my area and talked with many people before and afterwards. Very cool guy and a man of God - strange how those are one in the same sometimes ;)

@ryanintopeka maybe it isn't how often you attend church, but I promise you that after you have been in God's presence will find it uncomfortable to not raise your hands in praise, and that you'll become even more undignified in praise. I saw this when Charlie did the Calvary of Albuquerque Men's rally a couple of years ago. I got there early, and as the band started setting up, it was right in front of me. I walked up to Charlie and asked if he minded being talked to while he set up, and he said it was cool. I wound up helping them, and was really blessed by how humble a guy he is. Ane this song- this is over the top. Been to three Churches that do it well, but none like Charlie.
this song has a special meaning to me in my heart we used to sing this song at my former church (it closed down) and my friend billy he was the worship pastor on a saturday 4 years ago he had a heart attack at the age of 28 he died TWICE! needless to say he lived but the reason why this song is so special to me was because the next week he was back and THIS SONG was the first he sang and when he sang "My Dead Heart Now Is Beating" we all cried because it had a new meaning to us

I was at a worship leadership camp a few years ago and Charlie Hall, Dustin Ragland (his drummer), and his keyboardist (forgot his name) were there and led worship for us the last couple of nights...got to have a good conversation with all of them (even helped the drummer set up). They were all very easygoing and very good when it comes to playing music and worshiping. Hope I get to meet them again sometime! Love this song, btw.

You have everything wrong!! Jesus Christ died because we sin. we disobey Gods law without thinking about it. Jesus died so we can live in Heaven with God. we don't get into Heaven because we didnt trust/belive in God not because we dress like everyone else!
Right, because we sin, the world was offended at God and they rejected Him, and crucified Him.
The point is this, Christ was holy, and seperate from the world, and we are called to be like Christ. The way we dress and act is a reflection of who we are. Guess what? If you are a Christian you are dead, and the only One living inside you is Christ. Therefore, as your body the temple, and the representative of the LORD, be holy!
First of all, I did say the world rejected him. Secondly, i remember reading somewhere this started by a certain person saying Charlie Hall shouldn't look the way he is. It is a bit coincidental that you're talking about physical looks on a song by Charlie Hall, who has piercings and such. Next, the pharisees thought that by looking clean and outwardly proclaiming God's word made them look good and holy. Secondly, did not Jesus come to heal the sick?
He came to help the very people who were sinners and sick. Let him help those who have piercings or "defile" their bodies. Your points are made, and have SOME validity. But you are NOT GOD so leave it TO GOD

Its not about judging whether or not someone is saved by their dress. Read carefully. Its about misrepresenting the holy name of the LORD by the way you live. Thereby becoming a living blasphemy to the Lord God.

Naval, I'm a worship leader in my parish for YOUTH especially. I've been to retreats and other events, including the Hillsong Conference in Toronto. I've seen many ways of dressing, and you're right. There is inappropriate ways to dress, such as looking skanky. However, Charlie Hall is not doing that, and he is not misrepresenting God. Again, you are human, with your own faults. Let God judge us, not yourself. You have flown way past the argument of how Charlie Hall looks.
You are acting like a Pharisee, whom JESUS was against. Jesus was against what YOU are doing. Jesus DIED because there were those who DID NOT see GOD PROPERLY! Don't you ever try and mix something up like that again. You completely misconstrued why Jesus died. It wasn't because he said, you dress weird, its against God. He died because He showed who God really was, and humiliated the rich and powerful
Look, I dont even know Mr. Hall. I'm not here to critique him--I can only assume that He loves God.
I am here to get people to think about themselves and their attitudes towards the way they present Christ to the world.
This video just happens to be a fertile place to discuss the issue.
I'm not here to offend, or to be "holier than thou", but to simply get people to realize that we must be careful how we bare the name of God and be prudent lest we misrepresent Him.
Charlie Hall is one of the nicest and most down to earth guys I have met. I had lunch with him and his band and got to talk to them all. You can really see his love for God pour out of him. Who cares if he has a beard and piercing, he has witnessed to so many people through worship, looking exactly the way he does. What have you done? Stop arguing about his look, grow up and do something better with your time. Keep on preaching Charlie
Anybody can be a Christian, doesn't mean because he has earrings and a long beard that he's a bad person...although through text I can't tell if you mean it in that way, it's hard to convey through text.
Personally, I've seen Charlie Hall, he's a great guy. Give him more credit.

o ya, one more thing, all human being that loves God or not has the right to praise God regardless of whether u r bad or u have piercing here and there =) "it only right to give u thanks and praise", "all creation rightfully gives u praise", all this phrase sounds familiar ya? u and the priest proclaim it every week in mass if u r a catholic =) so despite charlie hall has piercing, he still has the right to praise God for it's only right to praise him =) in psalm king david reaffirm u with that.

very happy to see so many believer of Christ =) just like to share bit of wat i know =) Jesus came not just to heal the sick, but He came to show us the love of God so that many can b rescued by this love that our Father in heaven has freely offered to us becux of the ultimate love He has for us. You have everything wrong!! Jesus Christ died because we sin. we disobey Gods law without thinking about it. Jesus died so we can live in Heaven with God. we don't get into Heaven because we didnt trust/belive in God not because we dress like everyone else!

Right, because we sin, the world was offended at God and they rejected Him, and crucified Him.
The point is this, Christ was holy, and seperate from the world, and we are called to be like Christ. The way we dress and act is a reflection of who we are. Guess what? If you are a Christian you are dead, and the only One living inside you is Christ. Therefore, as your body the temple, and the representative of the LORD, be holy!

First of all, I did say the world rejected him. Secondly, i remember reading somewhere this started by a certain person saying Charlie Hall shouldn't look the way he is. It is a bit coincidental that you're talking about physical looks on a song by Charlie Hall, who has piercings and such. Next, the pharisees thought that by looking clean and outwardly proclaiming God's word made them look good and holy. Secondly, did not Jesus come to heal the sick?

He came to help the very people who were sinners and sick. Let him help those who have piercings or "defile" their bodies. Your points are made, and have SOME validity. But you are NOT GOD so leave it TO GOD

Its not about judging whether or not someone is saved by their dress. Read carefully. Its about misrepresenting the holy name of the LORD by the way you live. Thereby becoming a living blasphemy to the Lord God.
If we say to the world that we are the children of God, yet we act and live just as the world, then we effectively tell the world that God, our Father, no different than they are.
Christ was crucified because He was not like they were, because He testified against them!

Naval, I'm a worship leader in my parish for YOUTH especially. I've been to retreats and other events, including the Hillsong Conference in Toronto. I've seen many ways of dressing, and you're right. There is inappropriate ways to dress, such as looking skanky. However, Charlie Hall is not doing that, and he is not misrepresenting God. Again, you are human, with your own faults. Let God judge us, not yourself. You have flown way past the argument of how Charlie Hall looks.

You are acting like a Pharisee, whom JESUS was against. Jesus was against what YOU are doing. Jesus DIED because there were those who DID NOT see GOD PROPERLY! Don't you ever try and mix something up like that again. You completely misconstrued why Jesus died. It wasn't because he said, you dress weird, its against God. He died because He showed who God really was, and humiliated the rich and powerful

Second, perhaps you can explain how calling for the holiness and sanctification of God's people in order to properly bare His name is pharasical?

Look, I dont even know Mr. Hall. I'm not here to critique him--I can only assume that He loves God.
I am here to get people to think about themselves and their attitudes towards the way they present Christ to the world.
This video just happens to be a fertile place to discuss the issue.
I'm not here to offend, or to be "holier than thou", but to simply get people to realize that we must be careful how we bare the name of God and be prudent lest we misrepresent Him.

Charlie Hall is one of the nicest and most down to earth guys I have met. I had lunch with him and his band and got to talk to them all. You can really see his love for God pour out of him. Who cares if he has a beard and piercing, he has witnessed to so many people through worship, looking exactly the way he does. What have you done? Stop arguing about his look, grow up and do something better with your time. Keep on preaching Charlie

Anybody can be a Christian, doesn't mean because he has earrings and a long beard that he's a bad person...although through text I can't tell if you mean it in that way, it's hard to convey through text.
Personally, I've seen Charlie Hall, he's a great guy. Give him more credit.
