can you guys put out a booklet on how to set up a test stand such as yours and the material needed and explain clearly without my having to get a new brain...thanks
Servo tester,, but.. I did not see any 10 Seconds burst.. anyway I pushed 6S 85Amp through 4S rated motor, it was really hot, but not smoked, 85 amp survived but hot like hell, and battery survived up to 2 minutes until soldering melted down.. everything ended up in total crash off model.. but that was an test.
And here.. I did not see anything close to 190Amps.. it was all about 110Amps for few seconds.. I would like to see 190/200Amp test. So you got 110 Amps on 7.4 volts .. lol..
Hi. I got a Cessna 172 Skylane with default Motor and ESC. Can i use this set on my cessna shown in the video? Wich set do you recommend or compatible with this type of aircraft? Default Settings are: Motor: 900kv ESC: 30A Battery: 2200mah 3S 20C. I want the maximum power.
man thats awesome could you tell me where to get 1 of them throttle set up switch things ? i want to use a h/k 60 amp esc on a HHO hydrogen set up in my car but i need to idle it around 15 amps that throttle thing there is what i needs but i cant find on h/k
I've run this esc on 8s past 100 amps and the esc didn't even think about getting warm, the FETs on this esc are good for more than 34 volts in tolerance
@ShadowwwLFS I got 40 of them for about 100€ two years ago from someone recycling dewalt packs. I've put at least 100 cyles on them, abusing them and balancing occasionnally. I like them they are safe and powerfull ! But real poutch lipo is so much more energy dense...
Your idea of calculating the doubling of the total amp draw by paralleling the two 5S packs is horribly flawed. 5S voltage is still 5S (~20V) whether one or two packs are connected. Granted, the loaded voltage will be slightly higher when parallel due to the halving of the batterys' internal resistance but that should only account for a few amp increase. Run time will be doubled as you've now 2X the packs' total AH capacity. FYI...
hi frank... i just buy hk boat ecs yesterday.. but there is no manual.. im sure everyone need manual to use this esc. could you make vid how to program? im using Hobbyking SS Boat Series 70A ESC.
Do you have any comments concerning putting 200 amps through an xt60 connector? I have a setup using a 150 amp ESC and I was wondering if I should go to large bullet connectors? What would personally feel comfortable pulling through them?
Great Video!! I fried my esc on my 1/16 e-revo the other day and I wanted to get something better that I could run two 6 cell nimh for a total of 14.4v and not be woried about killing it, what would you recommend? The one shown in the video?
FYI if you do over 5s 40c packs DO use a 10ohm 2watt resister pre hook up for spark suppression so the initial hook up wont kill your the ESCs transistors. Ask me how I know...
Paul, I truly appreciate the job you do. It's just right. To add a comment about propeller safety, Master Airscrew's rule of thumb is Max RPM=165,000/Diameter. In this case, the result is 27,500 RPM which you almost doubled!! So hopefully anybody else reading this has a better understanding of why that it's not a recommended setup (as you said regarding amp draw).
Hi Frank great review as always but i've got a question for you about the UBEC,i know the video isn't about that but here goes anyway ;-) what was that little plug for on the UBEC that wasn't being used?? as i've got an old 20amp ESC with a built in BEC but it as a extra two thin wires coming out of it with a pug on the end,it's not the three wire plug that goes into the RX and it's not the battery wires or the motor wires lol,so any idea? i just can't think what it's for ;-) thumbs up.
@startazz I believe you may be talking about the plug that has a jumper on it. this is for changing the output voltage of the BEC. On the one used in the video you can set the output to 5v or 6v depending on which two pins the jumper is on. Because yours sounds like it only has two pins you may be able to change the voltage output by putting on or removing a jumper. That's just a guess so you may want to check the operators manual if you have it or check online.
@cruddiestcrudever that was the voltage drop measured on the 2 cell. If you look at the top right of the watt meter you can see the real time voltage is 8.19v so that's less than 1v difference.

So how programmable is the ESC?
Is it specifically for planes only?

I'm using this controller on 6s6p A123, on an electric bike!
I got peaks of 2700w, I bet it could be more if the batts were not sagging as much!
bzhwindtalker 6 months ago
@bzhwindtalker A123's 18650's, 26650's or 20Ah prismatic cells?
ShadowwwLFS 1 month ago
@ShadowwwLFS M1's wich are 26650, 2.3ah. Its a small pack but gives 20 minutes of hard offroading, wich is plenty to leave me drained for an hour!

@bzhwindtalker well I'm jealous now :(
here they cost $15 a piece, and internationally they can be found cheaper but shipping expenses make them expensive again :(

@bzhwindtalker Energy dense - yes, but not as power dense.

@StormyMaxPerry Uhm.. two parallel batteries are capable of 2x higher amp draw. Nothing wrong there.

@maynardr6 I run 8mm bulets and double 12 awg leads, and I still have a lot of wiring related voltage drop. 200 amps is a LOT of current!

I need something like this but with a built-in BEC. Any suggestions?

Much more expensive but the Castle Creations ICE Lite 200A ESC is exactly what you want. Has a 5A switch-mode BEC built in.

Did the prop tips exceed the speed of sound? Be careful, you don't want to create a dimensional vortex. (aka a worm hole)

every 100 Amp esc can handle 160A for 2-3seconds, so please show us, how this esc handles 180 Amps for 20 seconds...
