It is the right and duty of comedians to find the subjects people don't want to talk or think about, and not only force them to, but make them want to.
Like in this case, the very essence of a National Brotherhood Week is stupid, it implies it is perfectly ok for everyone to hate each other all the rest of the year, but on that one week you have to play nice, which was not the solution.
Hence: "It's fun to eulogize the people you despise, as long as you don't let them in your schools"
I remember high school parties in the late 60s. We would listen to Tom's records. To this day, I don't think anyone could write anything better to poke fun at the ridiculous attitudes and classic ideas. I learned a lot from him. I've never heard any parodies I like better. He was a genius. I only wish we had more. When THE ELECTRIC COMPANY was on PBS I would watch with my classses. I was so excited to here 'L-Y' and ' Silent E'.
