Vista tip of the day: Getting the full Aero Experience

vista 32bit would not be able to use 4G or ram. Only 3.5.

And you're right if you are going to USE system, not just TRY it (like do development or graphics manipulation) you'd better have more than 2Gigs or RAM, to have enough space for applications. But vista itself runs smooth on 1G, and even gives you to start ms pain or ms calc.

I run vista comfortably with 1gig of ram, even with over 20 windows open, with aero and all that shit enabled, I don't know why people say its a ram hog...

Buy xp with vista skin, as of right now i couldnt reccomend vista cause of program compatibility and many bugs

well, if I buy XP I won't be able to use DirectX 10, and I'm pretty sure that in a few years, all programs will be made for vista ONLY. But vista is waay slower, and f.ex. in crysis, vista requires 3,2 GHz to run it, while XP requires 2,8 GHz, and 3,2 GHz processors are so darn expensive.

trust me get xp, there are ways to run Vista programs in XP, you can alraedy run Halo 2 Vista with windows xp(as long its a legal copy of the game), only problem being you cant play online yet :P

Are you sure? since Vista has come, XP will probably die in a few years, and companies will stop making software for it. F.ex. they don't make software for Windows ME anymore either

XP is going to be officially done at the end of this year. (meaning not even private computer stores can install it)

Vista does hog some some ram but It still fast. I would recommend vista. All you need is more ram. Perhap 1 gb. I'm using 2 gb and its working just fine. I do not recommend vista basic because it doesn't have aero.

I'll get Vista Ultimate 64-bit OEM. The price is lame but it's the only 64-bit version of vista they have on the shop I'm getting my new computer.

I just got vista 3 days ago and it is a pain. It seems slow and then when you use it Internet Explorer 7 has problems after you have visited only 5 websites.

Exactly. My call of Duty 2 game is crap now. It takes 45 minutes to get it working and 10 minutes to connect on a trusted server. And Vista is causing more problems to my hard drive than anything else. I'll go back to my Media Center also. Much better using that,.

yea i do. If your icons are programs that you don't need uninstall them. Otherwise go to start and then click run. After you click run type in drwtsn32. Then the doctor watson debugger will open up and it will see if your machine has problems.
