Such a shame. If the Iranians had continued to play ball after the revolution, they would have have had a very modern Air Force and Saddam probably wouldn't have dared attack them in the first place. these pilots did not engage in any form of warfare..so there is no tribute required to be payed to them..also..it is crucial to consider the fact that iran was a puppet under the shah..iran is a great nation which does not deserve the treatment of a puppet..something which the islamic republic have managed to encounter

@MORGOTH4MELKOR first of all, they did. in the time of shah there was a very brief period of conflict between Iran and Iraq (if im not mistaking about 3 days to a week). Iranian air force dominated the Iraqi air space and therefore Saddam had to back down. second, a lot of Iranian commanders you see here were executed by the "revolutionaries" for no reason...they deserve respect!

My grandfather, Amir Rabii, was the commanding general, and best pilot, of the Imperial Iranian Air Force, but he was Executed during Islamic revolution in 1979. Those bastards took away his life because they were scared of his power. Because of them, I never met my grandfather.
