  • I Believe This Was A Video Clip Of "Soul Train" Video Open From March 11, 1995.

  • I remember this show's opening clip. I understand from 1993-99, after the show went off and the credits rolled. Why wasn't "(C)1993 Don Cornelius Productions seen N them? That's what was missing. That's my question, why won't they Nclude the copyright?

  • ugh, mystro clark sucked big time! shemar moore brought it back, but his final season he seemed kinda tired since he was doing both y&r and criminal minds...and i agree, the city scape set was the best set...this set looks dull...

  • @squadgurl2006

I never heard of Mystro Clark but I liked Shemar Moore. I began watching Soul Train when he took over (I was in 7th grade @ the time), but never was into the show as a child; had no appeal to it. That's why I barely remember the cityscape set from the early '90s.

    :P

  • is there any way you could download that song

  • Victoria is a beautiful woman. I still wasn't to fond of the special guest hosts. Nevertheless I bought my ticket to ride the train.

  • What's up KO your ST video are the business your truly the man i was wondering do you have the dance segments from this episode

  • The SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUULLLLLLL Train! This was one of my favorite shows on Saturdays. (After cartoons, of course.)

  • 60 nonstop minutes across the tracks of your mind into The Exciting World Of SOUL! 8-)

  • noticed at 1:53 is ST Dancer Talis

  • D@mn! Victoria R. actually hosted soul train. lol Who knew. okay then, okay then...

  • O.M.G.! When I first seen this animation in 1993 I was into this show. First time it came out on the show, I was surprised and shocked. I was aware of that howl charging sun and bubbles appearing.

  • I know what you are talking about! That the "A Comin" area. That my favorite era.

  • oh, my mistake. Where was ST taped at before they moved to california

  • Soul Train started its life as a local show on WCIU Chicago in 1970 before moving to Hollywood the following year.

Also, Hollywood Center Studios shared their lot space with the KTLA Studios during ST's tenure there from 1985-93.

  • They should've stayed in Chicago, just for my benefit...

  • Yeah, b4 the ST set was moved and videotaped at Paramount Pictures Studios from 1993 up to now, the ST set was taped at Hollywood Center Studios at Hollywood,CA from seasons 1-22 which were the golden years of that show. I mean Seasons 23 up to 35 of the show focused more on Hip Hop Soul, which was the New Jack Swing's successor

  • actually mimi3000 they moved to CA for the Seasons 14-22 before hand they were at another studio

  • ST's taping locations were:

KTTV/Metromedia Square (1971-81, that building's already demolished, replaced by a new high school)

    Chaplin Stage/A&M Records (1981-85)

    Hollywood Center Studios (1985-93)

    Paramount Studios (1993-2006)

  • thanks for the info johnny, however season 14 was the start of the neon building set at Hollywood Center Studios which was started 1984

  • Hollywood Center Studios didn't start until 86, actually.

  • Hollywood Center Studios started in 86/87?

  • Really? Wow, so did they move all the Studio's set design to the new location or something? I ask because I know the set went through minor changes and improvements each year during those years. Im curious to know

    ;-)

  • When the cityscape set started in '84, they were still in the same studio as the honeycomb set-- The Chaplin Stage at A&M Studios. By mid '85, you saw subtle changes like no triple lights on either side of the neon logo and even the high risers on the opposite side in season 15... they were making a transition to HCS but they were at FOX TELEVISION STUDIOS for the majority of season 15.

  • Oh yeah, that's right because I did notice the changes made through those couple of seasons. Thanks for pointing that out STFANS! ;-) Hey email me when you get the chance about the list I sent you ;-)

  • If I had to choose between the neon city shaped set and the nightclub like set of soul train, I'll go with the neon city shaped set. Both of the sets from 1979-2006 look so totally radical!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • I agree. Mystro Clark was the worst.

  • Is that KRS-ONE in this title sequence?

  • Boy did things take a dive in this era.

  • You got that right. I stopped watching after 1997. Plus, I hated the set that was used after season 22.

  • I wouldn't say things went downward during this era. However, the show did lack some things. For one thing, you don't hear the dancers go crazy. I watched up til the last season ('05-'06). The golden years, for me, were from season 1 to 22.

  • I of course gotta second that emotion! I definitely agree! Thanh's right, you dont hear the crowd at all

  • I still watched after 1997, but DEFINITELY not every single saturday haha

If i had nothing to do and was stuck in the house then i was watchin it more than likely just to see who would be on there but didnt sit in front of the tv as i did back during seasons 14-22

  • i still watched it a lil bit after DC left

  • Dag...I totally forgot about this theme...it was 'ok' not near any of my favs...and that train...UGH!!!.

  • Jesus Christ! I remember this theme!!!

  • I thought that I was the only one that liked the themes and the animation. The set from seasons 14-22 is the best. The animated train from seasons 12-22 is tight and the logo. Now they even messed up the logo. Oh well, that's my opinion.

  • I agree livingincolor, they demolished alot of succesful things that they had done before hand by ST moving to Paramount Studios where Seasons 23 to the last season was aired. I personally stand behind the factor that what they had with Seasons 14-22 was the best damn set in my opinion. Everything was so ALIVE AND ENERGETIC! I think that was a hell of a creative idea to make a neon city scaped building studio for ST's hypest years in the making! Also best themes/train *STs a Comin'TSOP 87/89*

  • same with me. i luv that set alot

  • it was really huge and had the video screen that i liked, this is the soul train that i grew up too, even though i like looking at the other set before this and seeing those neon city lights.

  • Comment removed

  • How Don did this new title sequence?

  • especially remember this theme

  • The set looks like your typical nightclub. Seasons 23-35 was great and good. But it got worser when Mystro Clark was the host. But seasons 17-22 was a lot better. It was something that the whole world can watch

  • i like theme music from 95 but not the animated train from 95

  • The neon buildings was my favorite set too!!! I also like the futuristic set they had before.

  • this intro was not one of my fav intros

  • I was also born in 1983 and so are many ST Fans!

  • yepp

  • I didn't like the set after don left it looked too strange lol I like the early 80's up to the 92 sets

  • me too!

  • I liked the music of the mid-to-late-90s cause that's when I was a teen, but this show's quality was def. on the decline during that time. It just didn't look/sound as great as the '80s and early '90s episodes did, I liked it a lot better when I was a kid.

  • I feel the same exact way ;)

  • agreed it was so much better as a kid up to the early 90's I really didn't watch as much from 93 up to last year but I love the BOST show's I feel like playing with my hot wheels lol

  • Yeah, I'd say up to about '92 it was good... by Don's last season, it seemed like he was bored w/ the whole thing and the music had gotten slower and less danceable. And don't get me wrong, I love the '90s music, but it didn't have that same high energy I was used to seeing on S**l T***n.

  • Actually Don seemed like that here n there around 1992/1993, but his last season as host was actually pretty hype! I remember watching every episode from Season 22, which was don's last season, and alot of the music was jumpin. This was the last year that the New Jack Swing era was alive. It was replaced by season 23, with gangsta rap/neo soul, which i wasnt to excited about but it had great artists still rising.I liked the way the set looked during the late 80s early 90s with Don! ;)

  • wow like the theme but hated the show after don corneluis stepped down as host Im glad they still have the BOST on so I can feel like a kid again

  • yep me too! im very happy for that ;)

  • Damn I haven't heard this intro in awhile. Thanks for posting it.

  • I have a question though..though this episode is from 1995,and don retired as host of the show in 1993, why is he in this episode? I know he is still behind the whole scene of the show, the executive producer, but Im surprised to see him as host again in 1995..was it a special thing or what? man seing him and hearing the voice brings back memories and makes me miss him even more....I miss soul train with Don as Host..

  • Actually for 1993/1994 season and 1994/1995 season, he would introduce the guest star host for that particular episode, being as though it was a different guest host every saturday

  • oh ok thaNKS bro haha..i didnt know that..im still stuck in the 80s haha. thats cool....its my first time seeing don introducing the show to this theme and stuff haha..i misss that voice

  • wow yep.....naugthy by nature....i dig soul train before 1993..this song is ok though...im glad i got to see the intro during this time of soul train

  • KO you came through for me ! awesome .. i need to see more though:) love the dancers and jams from the mid 90s.. must see more of this episode and others.. lol. Great job as always.. looks like you have a nice following for the mid 90s .. keep em coming .. peace

  • Do you have any more mid 90s performances and danceoffs, if so can u upload it?

  • do you have any more 95 segments?

  • yeah i have more, just stay tuned, im going at random so you never know what ima post next ;)

    KO

  • I knew you wouldn't let me down. Nice to see the mid 90s intro again...although I didn't like much of the atmosphere on soul train during the mid 90s but that intro stayed fresh in my head for a long time

  • Although I loved the mid 90's episodes, it just didn't feel or seem the same now that I look back on it. This time, you never heard the crowd go wild to neither the songs that were played nor the perfomances. Thanx 4 uploadin another rare moment.

  • yeah youre absolutely right, im with you 110% on this! This is after the new jack days faded, during the new jack era there was soo much LIVE atmosphere goin on with the crowd and the music, the set, the theme, everything was perfect in the New jack swing era!

    Stay tuned there will be more comin up shortly {new jack episodes}

  • oh.ok

  • haha. I have this ep on tape. wasn't a bad episode, really. Victoria Rowell was dancing on the show like it was 1984. LOL

  • haha yeah she was!

everyone stay close cuz ima be puttin up some more late 80s early 90s stuff! Its a New Jack weekend ;)

    KO

  • not gud.

  • well this is part of a request from an individual who wanted me to post some mid 90s stuff
