Hip hop and Rap music is just poetry. I'm British and I listen to rappers like 2pac and Common and a lot of what they are saying is really no different to what we learnt in school about Shakespeares plays.

I know 2pac was a fan of Shakespeare and explored themes similar to Othello in his music.
