The chef is indeed Ian Abercrombie, Mr. Pitt! And no doubt the number of views come mostly from people looking for the early 90s ads, which spoofed the originals as the late, great Ian Richardson always asked for Grey Poupon but somehow never got it. As someone who takes an interest in advertising, it's a mildly interesting comparison, but on its own, yeah, not so fascinating.
