I hope that dog saliva wont hurt the bird and make it sick ?????? They have different immune systems and I heard human saliva from food can hurt a bird, so I use my fingers to break off pieces of crackers only, not bite it first. any thoughts on this ???
@ctguy1955 If you want to be safe about it, birds and dogs shouldn't play together. I dunno, you should ask the owner of this video if they have had any problems with their bird getting sick because of the dog.
Thats cool ! HAHA My samoyed and my african grey doesn't get along thats b'cos my grey thinks she's a pest in the house. Infact my grey feels that all my 4dogs,2cats in the house are pests as each time they walk pass him without disturbing he just fluffs up his feather! But the dogs and cats go well together :) HAHA UREEEE SAMOYED ISSS SHOOOO CUTEEEE!
For anyone who claims we are superior to animals - that we have empathy & they don't - here's more demonstrable proof that animals are capable of this & much more.
When my dog Sam was alive I wud take a tiny piece of her downy hair & roll it up into a ball the size of a pea. Sam wud very carefully try & tug it out of my fingers with her teeth & not once dig she ever get close to biting my fingers.
It was a game we played & she knew how to play without harming me.
I am on my 3rd rescue Samoyed. The first one was a puppy mill mom who died from cancer-she was over bred and it killed her. The second one died from diabetes, when I got him he was 90lbs! With a lot of work I got him down to 70lbs but he then developed N.M.E a disease that affects his liver and I lost him. I have had Jack for 4 years now. As hard as losing the first two were, I would do it again in a heart beat. They are amazing dogs VERY stubborn but so loving..and so funny. I <3 my Jack
@Jeepgirlcj7 I currently have my third rescue Sammy too. Got him when he was 1 and is the youngest dog I've had (the others being seven but lived to good ages). They are had to loose but I love them. They're so cheeky but loyal.
I'm not very familiar with Samoyeds, but, by watching this video and others, they are quickly becoming one of my favorite breeds! Ollie seems like such a sweetie!
Don't get one unless you don't mind a very stubborn, smart dog, that sheds more than any other breed you can think of and unless you can spend at least an hour a day with them - and spending times means interacting with.
They are great dogs, but they aren't or everybody. They are also prone to hip dysplasia, glaucoma (always leads to blindness), anal gland problems, and hypothyroid - and glaucoma is VERY EXPENSIVE to treat.
Still need to be careful. I had a chow and a budgie who were the best of friends. But one day the chow reached out to play, using her mouth, and crushed the poor bird. Didn't mean to. Just didn't know her strength.
Aww, I see. That's cute. One day, I want animals of different species to get along like that. ^__^ May it be a dog and a budgie, or a rat and a cat. I love all animals so one day I hope to accomplish that. :D But for now, it's just budgies. :)
that has to be one of the fluffiest dogs I've ever seen...it's adorable. My dogs definitely would've ate that budgie. They already go bonkers when birds fly through the windows.
My Samoyed teared down the house one day we had a street cat "visiting". My mother locked the dog in her bathroom while we were looking for the cat to save him and guess what? the cat was actually hidding in the bathroom! everything started to explode in there, all the perfumes and everything every where. When we opened the door my dog had the cat in his mouth and my mother slap him on his head and the cat ran away so fast we never saw it again. The dog still searching for the cat still.
wow i love that u proved this. sadly enough my brother caught a small fledgeling one time and to his horror the poor thing fell off the table and was quickly sucked dry by our dog PANCHO (maltese)
I came home one day and found my baby rats cage broken on the floor, 7 Baby rats and their mum missing, a stray cat ran out of the front door past me. I thought the worst.. Then I noticed, my Samoyed was lying funny and wouldn't get up. I ran over to her, she would not lift her head from her paws. I then noticed an odd movement in the fur behind her ears, I pulled the fur apart to see a little twitchy nose. Closely guarded between her paws were all 7 babies and their mum
that samy is amazing.. so fluffy, I've had a samoyed and she was the sweetest laziest dog... always a smile on her face!

My female Samoyed loves cats, and isn't too fond of dogs. I'm her 3rd owner, so I guess she must have been raised around cats.
