  • Very inaccurate. Must be Prince and The Pauper. His council was there most notably Cranmer. Chamber was dark & cold as it was January. Edward was with Elizabeth. No women were anywhere near the dying king. Henry was prematurely aged with a blood clot that did him in. Syphilis was not the reason for his death. Edward died of a pulmonary infection not consumption.

  • How come in this movie and The Other Bolyen Girl that King Henry VIII raped Anne? That's what I don't get. Real men don't rape the woman that they love.

  • Finally this murderous tyrant is dead. Some say of syphilis. Now, the "church" he started is overrun by homosexuals and lesbians. What a proud tradition!

  • @bheadh Just to let you know, he didn't die of Syphilis. That was the french king.

  • Whats the music in this? I've been trying to remember for ages and then i watched this and heard it but i still can't find out....

  • Did he rape Anne in real life?

  • @brittany6180 I do not think so, Henry could be a true gentleman when he was in love.

  • ray made best henry 8th

  • Ooo, what a biased concluding narration! A distinctly Protestant slant, no?

  • King was evil, killed so many innocent people who wanted to be loyal to the pope. One monk foretold Henry that he would die as king Achab and the dogs would lick his blood. And strangely enough after death of the king his coffin broke and blood, fluid was flowing from the coffin and two dogs licked his blood, as was foretold before.

  • Did they HAVE to send Mary off as "Bloody Mary"? Ugh, whatever.

  • Fantasy or not, adios jagoff.

  • so historically inaccurate. Prince edward was not present at Henrys death. He was told with his sister Elizabeth of there fathers death in Enfield, and both burst in tears when told of his death. What is portrayed here is pure fantasy.

  • is this a show or movie

  • Norkfolk... you lucky, lucky bastard.

  • what is the music played at the end?

  • @brawn777 Only the best piece of music ever. Nimrod (Enigma Variations) by Sir Edward Elgar

  • No way Kat Parr cried like this. I bet she did a little victory dance when she got back to her room.

  • I WISH Henry's life had not only ended like this, but that he would have apologized to Mary and Elizabeth for the hardships he put them through. Maybe Mary's reign would have been better if he did.

  • is that jonny cause if it was they applied a serios lot of makeup xD

  • @StephenieHazen um, under Victoria Britain took the industrial revolution around the largest empire humanity had ever know.......elizabeth barely managed to defend an impoverished country which was racked with famine and was barely populated.........Elizabeth was most certainly NOT Englands best queen

  • @bulked Considering what Elizabeth had to work with, I think she did damn fine job and deserves the accolade "Greatest Queen In Brittish History".

  • why's Catharine Parr crying

I'd be dancing around the room with success

  • The music is also used in the movie Elizabeth I, starring Cate Blanchett.

  • When Edward is walking up to the bed, Henry sounds so much like Darth Vader, with all that breathing. I wonder if he keeps a lightsaber under his bed?!

  • @cooperjc8 Maybe that's what Anne was killed with and not a sword....

  • prince edward was so cute in this! :D

  • buildings. His legacy is still evident today. I for one say God Bless, Bluff King Hal.

  • such was the stench from his leg ulcers. He was diabetic had migraines, chronic malaria and insomnia. We should also remember during his time he was mourned by the people more than any other monarch had been and the people expected their monarchs to be a mixture of Lion and Lamb. He also founded the Royal Navy, mad England a great nation free from the power of Rome, translated the bible into English and created a great economy. He promoted parliament, remodelled the tax system and built great

  • I think it is unjust to condemn Henry as a tyrant. He was a man of his time and we cannot impose our own modern standards of behaviour . It has also to be remembered he was not always a tyrant, his jousting accident which caused terrible injuries and left him unconcious for 13 hours has been identified as the key event after which his personality dramatically changed probably as a result of brain injuries. He was also in permanent constant pain and it was said you could smell him 3 rooms away,

  • So you think you are educated know you hear your spanish boyfriends point of view then you are no better than the people you know only biased english point of view your just like them. As for Rest in hell elizabeth thats not right to say, Mary had a tough childhood her father forced her to give up her religion, but she had to understand that she was doing the same thing to others. People were not right back then, its because of the parents.

  • Medieval England was a little country with little inland revenues. Medieval Hungary was stronger country with larger populaTION territory and inland revenues.

  • the terrible thing about this time was that people were not allowed to learn of their own free will, some say it was the beginning of the age of the dawn of reason..his death was predictable due to his ways, it was only a matter of time, there was no medicine, well not much of any use. people have often commented on the fact that women and men married so young, but what most do not realize was that their lives only lasted a fraction of ours now.. most were dead by 60 .

  • Rest in hell! Wow even with you insult you contradict yourself.

  • "And she ordered far less people executed than either her father or her two siblings, but alas, the Protestants have written English history."

Mary reigned for 5 years and killed around 300 people (that's just burnings not including the other beheadings and hangings) The number is around 500, which is 100 a year.

Elizabeth reigned for 45 years and killed 400 people, that's less then 10 a year.

Please get some logic before you write such idiotic comments.

  • Congratulations! You are living proof of how pathetic amateur historians are so easily taken in by the victors who write the annals! What on earth have you been reading, dear, the accounts of the Anglican apologists? Read the Historical Book of Martyrs compiled by a Jew, a lapsed Methodist and an atheist who credit Elizabeth with over 5000 deaths. And what is this with the measuring of years ruled to the number of deaths? So Stalin was nicer than Hitler? Go get an education, you fool.

  • Haha, I'm am "amateur" for saying facts. Oh dear me I will only reply to you once more as I can see how much of an immature angry little girl you are. Elizabeth ordered the death of 400 people (it's recorded "dear") Mary ordered the burning of 300 "dear".

Just because some anti-Elizabeth person writes in a book that she odered the death of over 5000 people doesn't make it true. In fact it is quite impossible that historians would have missed this. Please go live in Greece give us all a break!

  • I agree, ligreekguy. You are clearly in the right. The only reason Elizabeth is risen to such a high level is because she helped finance voyages to the New World and beat b ack the Spanish Armada. And it wouldn't have been so bad if th e Armada had won, b/c then England would have been Catholic again and the Protestants would have died.

  • Comment removed

  • @ligreekguy He killed his wife for no reason, that makes him an ass in anyone's books.

  • A little ironic, Henry VIII had Anne killed and her daughter became the greatest monarch in the UK.

  • @EvilgidgitReturns Indeed.... Ironic isn't it...? The "Whore" Provided the best monarch.... in the UK...? no.... IN EVER!

  • @EvilgidgitReturns It is not ironic - this country only needed a monarchy to be ruled, the last remaining was Elizabeth, hence she was the last before the Stuarts came into power. :-)

  • @EvilgidgitReturns yes that may be so, but she was an adulterer and at least by contemporary standards, it was completely justified for her to be executed by Henry

  • consumption is the same as tuberculosis. they just called it that because it consumes the body and back then if u got it, u didn't survive.

  • whats consumption?

  • To much water in your bladder when your head comes off!

  • mary was all that bad. in the beginning she was a good queen and she married the king of spain so she became queen of multiple countries (all the territories that she ruled and her husband), but she did kill many people but also she had a very rough life. she was separated from her mother, wasnt able to see her before she died and she was declared a bastard, which took away the life that she was born into.its sad that it was Katherine's duaghter that ended up getting the bad reputation as queen

  • @lat3908 How exactly does one burn tens of thousands of one's own subjects at the stake and imprison their own sister without getting a bad (and deserved) reputation?

  • she didnt kill 10s of thousands of people.... hundreds of them, but u r right

  • not only imprison her own sister, but also draw up and nearly sign her death warrant?

  • Is that Derek Jacobi providing the narration?

  • DING DONG THE BASTARD'S DEAD!

  • Henry was a tyrant. No doubt about that.

  • Id be crying too. Tears of joy because I outlived you, ya fat bastard! :-P

  • @DuttyGyal718 lol thats what I was thinking... "It is over!"

  • I didn't watch the whole series, but I think it has a superb and inspiring ending! ^^ I enjoyed watching it

  • I saw the whole series and it was really gorgeous and Sean Bean was incredible as Henry VIII he looked exactly like him - hus custumes nad make-up and acting was amazing it is uncomparable with american version that version was just terrible and has ansolutly nothing icommon with history it is just stupid american serie. And there is also a serie about Queen Elisabeth the first it is called "The Virgin Queen" it is georgous too.

  • Sean Bean did not play Henry VIII.

  • lol

  • NIMROD!!!!!!!

  • could somebody please tell me what the piece of music is called at the end of the This?

If soemone has already asked this Im sorry to ask again, but i can't find anything. thank you :)

  • ok Edward VI had died long before Henry did, and Parr lived on quietly in the country till she died, and Mary took the throne

  • Edward VI died on the 6th July 1553, Henry VIII died on the 28th January 1547 after which Edward VI became king

  • its interesting how they ended it like this. they had to though. because its a movie, not based on facts but on the attention of the watchers.

  • That depends, I suppose...Jacobites regard Bonnie Prince Charlie's brother, Henry, Cardinal-Duke of York, as "Herny IX."

  • Aw the end made me cry..

  • queiro la pelicula en español o subtitulado en español porfavorrrrrrr

i wanna the film in Spanish o bub spanish pleasseeee

  • It was not a fun deal to be Chancellor or prime minister in those days have we the final account of how many perished under the Tudors' axe?

  • gosh the woman who plays catherine parr looks so like her! same with the kid who plays edward.

  • Henry VIII Had Many Son's.......... Like Henry IX But They Died In Birth, Just Like Some Daughter's.

  • there has never been a king henry ix.

  • No, but there are rumors that when Prince Charles will be the king, he will change his name to Henry IX or George VII, since, Charles is not considered to be 'lucky' name for the Monarchy and the Royal Family!

  • He don't want to lose his head XDDDD

  • And that my friend wil be the certain death of the British monarchy lol .

  • First, I don't even think that Charles will be king. The way our current Queen is going, she will, I think, live longer than her son and if you think that Charles bcoming king will be the end of 1000 year old monarchy, which is far more respected than any other institution in this country and indeed the Commonwealth then I am sorry to say, you don't understand people of this country and the Commonwealth!..........

  • Nothing in life last forever . Their has been other monarchy just like for the british one who today does not exist. For the commonwealth as soon as Elizabeth gives her last breath it will be the begining of the end. Charles is not as respected as is mother .

  • As I have said before, I don't even think Charles will be king. I have been searching on this monarchy and royal family for over 20 years now. Just think that if the Queen lives as long as her mother that means Charles will be 80 and then, he himself, would not like to be King and William will be our king!

I am not sure about other Commonwealth countries but I can assure you that British Monarchy will survive after Her Majesty.........

  • ...As last king of Egypt once said, ... there will be only five kings in the world the King of England and the four kings in a pack of cards. British Monarchs greatest power as king/Queen is the emotional hold they exerts on their people, who toast their health at every banquet and dinner and whose national anthem beseeches God to protect them. As the fountainhead of such honour, they are a sacred symbol that elevates them above criticism. For this pinnacle they commands absolute fealty.......

  • ...I really cant say anything on this matter. What I would like to say to you is just go to my channel and watch last 5 min or so the video I have posted "Monarchy (1992) Part 16 of 16."

  • ...If this monarchy can survive under kings live George IV then I think it can survive under king like Charles, who works harder than our many politicans!

  • You cannot compare the era these are two different time.

  • He mad seven children that died at birth to Catherine of Aragon. Anne Boleyn had a still born boy and two miscarriages.

  • There's so much potential for a film about Henry VIII but I'm disappointed every time... Why couldn't more episodes have been made...everything in this seemed so very rushed. I've yet to watch a pleasing Henry VIII drama. Little Miss Sunnydale...how about I get you an appointment with Spielberg, I'm sure you'd do us all proud! Thanks for sharing this... : )

  • I thing that king Henry was happy when Mary was born, because she was the only children of him and Catherine, who survived...He was really happy when Edward was born too, 'cause he was the only son o him...but I thing that he was disappointed when Elizabeth was born, because he wanted son...but Mary become "bloody Mary" ", Edward died very young, and only Elizabeth ,The "unwanted daughter" ,become the greatest queen England ever have...ironic

  • and karma. :-P

  • It seems to me that wife number two got the last laugh if you ask me. I said earlier that Henry must have roll over his grave a couple of hundred thousand times. Because Elizabeth rule England for 45 years. The funny thing about that was I didn't have to go to Vegas to place a bet on that & if I did I would have bet the house on it. That's what I think what do you think?

  • The same as ya XDDD

  • oh yes, Anne said to Henry before she died that Elizabeth would be Queen and that she would be the greatest Queen England would ever have. And so did Katharine of Aragone , say that her daughter would be Queen as well, before she had died.

  • @JaponLights I agree. I've read 'Elizabeth: The Red Rose of Tudor' last year and your comment agrees in what I read in the book.

  • @JaponLights Henry had his son in Elizabeth, the only irony? He never knew it. Or maybe he did.

  • wordsof wisdom to his son

  • Norfolk was imprisoned for years then died about a year after he got out yes?

  • about 6 months

  • thanks

  • and under 1400-1700 talet endt, tusentals burned on the stek,

  • I am not really Mary Tudors biggest fan but that little tidbit on Mary was just obnoxious, rude, and disrespectful...

  • I am not a 'fan' per se but I have always felt an empathy for this much abused, much misunderstood woman. The Mary bashing is typical but annoying never the less.

  • If only Catherine of Aragon would have had a son that Henry wanted then maybe the history of England would have been different. Henry VIII may had dissolved the monastery and broke with Rome for his own personal gain (especially for new conviced protestant like the greedy Cromwell) but the king remained a catholic at heart till his dying days.

  • Yes, you are right, blackarawak83. Everybody seems to think that Henry VIII founded the Church of England, which is not quite true, because as well as hanging Roman Catholics as traitors, he was at the same time burning protestants as heretics. The C of E did not really start till the next reign. The C of E is not really a protestant religion anyway. It is a wishy-washy compromise between protestantism and Roman Catholicism. Luther and Calvin never really caught on in England.

  • life was as shit then as it is now...WELCOME to ENGLAND!!!!lol

  • I can agree with that. After all i'm willing to bet the house & we're not in Vegas here folks that he must have been rolling over in his grave a few dozen times after his daugher's became queen.

  • and ruled 45 years. :-D

  • Coooooor! These Tudors loved their burnings at the stake and decapitations! Glad I wasn around in that time...I would be burnt or beheaded as a papist!lol I think its sad that the reformation took place, as Henry couldnt get what he wanted from the Pope..hmmmm very upsetting for england!

  • I can understand that hell i'm glad for myself that I wasn't living during period of time. Then again, Henry would have fitted right in here in Texas in the late 1800's but that's another story at another time.

  • i would love to see all of this if ne one has it.

  • From when Henry meet Anne Boyeln to her death is one you tube in bits and bobs.

  • When i first saw this film i thought they where not going to mention Elizabeth I but they kept her to last, too rightly!

  • I always love the fact that he was so intent on having a son, yet it was Elizabeth who totally ruled the roost. Girl power!

  • I would like to buy the DVD. Can any one tell me the exact title?

  • Could someone post the entire series? I love Ray Winstone's performance...would love to see more! Thanks for this in any event.

  • i think everyone did well in this one despite the inconsistencies.

i think emilia fox was great as jane seymour, and assumpta and helena were great as catherine of aragon and anne boleyn

  • Somebody doesn't like Mary

  • pipi

  • I really love the end of this film, the narrative is perfect. However The Duke Of Norfolk was something like 73 years old when he was in the Tower if I'm correct way older then they guy theyve got playing him!.

  • Edward was at Enfield with his sister Elizabeth when he received news of Henry's death, not at his bedside!

  • henry was a pimp/gangster

  • its sad really for all his children i mean like every few months or years BOOM they got another new mother poor kids

  • She got Anne Boleyn (worst thing ever to happen to England) Jane Seymour (Henry's Phoenix) Anne Of Cleves (German) Katherine Howard (Flirty B****) and Katherine Parr (Kindly woman, of about Mary's own age) as step mothers

  • Anne Boleyn, was the greatest thing to happen to England know why? Simple, she gave us Elisabeth.

  • @PrettyTigerlilly

    agreed!!!

  • that makes Bess great, not Anne.

  • I love this series, Emily Blunt and Helena B. Carter were the best.

  • This beautiful looking series was filled with all sorts of inaccuracies, but it was still entertaining nonetheless.

  • The women who plays Anne of Cleves here is very pretty...just as the real Anne!

  • yeah shes quite pretty isnt she, did she go to henrys funeral then?

i wouldnt have bothered if i were her, after how he treated her

  • Thanks for all these videos

Which is this serie? Maybe Henry VIII(2003)?

  • Thanks you!

Yep it is is Henry VIII (2003).

  • Who is that woman crying when Henry died?

  • i think its catherine parr

  • I thing Catherine Parr

  • "The little speech on Mary Tudor is hardly fair as per usual...."

*sigh* Indeed! And yeah, so much for the three days he was dead without anyone's knowledge.....ah well. Definitely not my favorite production...

  • wow that death seemed quick, i hope it wasnt that quick in real life

  • LOL methinks crazygal doesn't like Henry, I can't think why. ;) Actually no, it wasn't that quick and you can be very sure that he suffered a lot.

  • nope i cant stand the man as you know lol!

oooo thats ok then, he deserved to suffer lol!

  • :P I have heard you didn't like him. ;)

  • I don't like Henry VIII either.

  • Can't say I do very much either. But I rather enjoy the history he and his family created. Though if you were to ask me whether I favoured Gordon Brown or Henry VIII to rule my country, I would vote King Hal everytime.

  • same even tho i hate the dude, himand his family are interesting dudes to study!

  • Yes inaccurate, but remember it was Sunday night drama on ITV. There would be some simplifying, to make it easy for people to understand. So that it wasn't too taxing on its viewers.

Yes, I'm afraid the Tudors are victims of dumbing down. Won't they be proud?! LOL ;)

  • I agree it is very inaccurate, but somehow very touching??
