Here in michigan our lake was heavily polluted. But someone accidentally found an incredible solution. That being Zebra muscles. They are an invader species, yes. But suck the pollution out of the water incredibly well while having little negative impact on the local wildlife. The downside is that they are very sharp when still alive (but are easy to avoid) and are very troublesome to boaters because they grow on ships.

Beautiful place, been there several times, and never tire of it. In summer it's warm (hot) but cold water and in Winter bitterly cold, but stunningly beautiful at all time. (wife originates from Irkutsk, so we visit regularly)

The Baikal seal is not the only seal in fresh water there are two other seals living in freshwater:Ladoga(Russia) Ringed Seals and the Saimaa(Finnland) Ringed Seal (both relative subspecies of the Ringed Seal
