  • HOLY SHIT... no way... i cannot believe this is happening

  • reality aint what it used to be

  • The movie itself is a tribute to HP Lovecraft. I love it!

  • I'm only disappointed that this didn't involve Spock's Beard.

  • 3 people dont read enough Sutter Cane.

  • Definitely one of my Top 10 favorite horror movies! "Did I ever tell you my favorite color was blue?" still cracks me up!

  • @4:57 awww! why didn't you keep in the thing running past the screen?

  • ok, explain to me how this song IS NOT a ripoff of Metallica's ENTER SANDMAN???!!!

  • @sandiismyname to me sounds like some AC/DC's song.... like hells bells riffs and stuff

  • @c0d3punk I'm pretty sure that this movie is also a tribute to Stephen King and it's no secret that AC/DC is his favorite band.

  • John Carpenter, in a 2004 interview, said he made In The Mouth Of Madness as campy as he could - so as to veil the true profundity of the real horrific concepts that lurk beneath the surface of the story.

This is a movie that actually goes MUCH deeper than its skin, and the issues it so playfully addresses are mind warping when you know the science, the mythology, and the psychology that the story are really pointing toward.

  • run john, run!

  • I love the scene when He watches the Movie in the Cinema and Laughs like a miniac :D and the Music is very cool ;)

  • Finally added to Netflix insta queue! Good think because you can't find this in a store. Do you read Sutter Cane?

  • the opening theme makes me think of metallica. But like bmovie 80's rock, even though it's an awesome movie.

  • @crawlingnyarlathotep The guitar player on this track is Dave Davies of The Kinks

  • I'm gonna see if I can't use this footage from the movie and find a good metal track that goes along with it. I'm sure I will come up with something probably even better than this. come check it out judge for yourselves.

  • amazing.

    it makes me horny

    oh yeah

  • Well done. Great piece of rocking music to a brilliant under rated horror gem, one of JC's best.

  • The scene at 0:20 .... that was a perfect way to lay the groundwork for the rest of the movie.

Trent: "This is a rotten way to end it!"

Cane: "This isn't the end. You haven't read it yet ..."

  • Great tribute to a very underrated Horror movie. One of Carpenter's best.

  • Very underrated movie. Great Ost. Great Sam Neil.

  • Did I ever tell you that my favourite colour was blue? :D:D

  • 2:55 wtf is with the brakes man he shud have gone straight through em in stead of waiting for them to reach his car

  • @Dogface1998 thats cause he has already tried that before and went right through them in a circle

  • @Dogface1998 Watch the movie.

  • My all time favorite J Carpenter film

  • This film blew me away. One of my favorite horror films, and this music is cool as well.

  • This is not reality, not reality...

Best John Carpenter's picture ever :)

  • ha ha I love this movie

  • "Reality is not what it used to be!"

La realidad no es lo que era ;)

  • Great video, loved the ending. Clever.

  • great film

  • awesome video!!!

Carpenter's best since the Thing and Prince Of Darkness.

  • simply amazing movie!

  • THE BEST LOVECRAFTIAN FILM EVER!!1

  • moron. this is nothing like dagon

  • amazing movie. and jhons music awesome as ever.

  • this is my favorite ost made by carpenter beside assault on precinct 13

  • needs to come out blu ray already

  • Amen, brother! Ye speak the truth.

  • Hah! "BLUE ray"!

  • mark hughes fav film.

  • I love Carpenter scores! This track is one of my favorites.

  • Great movie and music, Carpenter is the man. But I have to agree that it does sound alot like Enter Sandman, in a good way.

  • who else thinks this sounds like Enter Sandman? even the exact same drumming in beginning basically. but this was before so maybe Metallica were high & watching this movie one night & wrote a similar song

  • CARPENTER INVENTED HORROR!!

  • technically this is a homage to H.P. Lovecraft, so he truly invented horror.

  • The most under rated and under appreciated horror movie ever! This movie is THE SHIT!

  • In The Mouth of Madness is in my top 5 favorite horror flicks of all time. Some of the effects are cheesy, but the mood and the concept is great.

  • was that the maniac cop!?

    hahaha.

  • love the music of the movie

  • I got it on video but i only got 2 dvd players ;) but i will still keep the film till i get it on DVD...This film blew my mind away....Carpenters best.

  • yer ltcgyt...cool m8..thankyou ;)

  • I seen this around a year or 2 back and one of the lines in the film was "if the whole world turns insane and you where the only sane person left alive then it would be you who was crazy" or somthing along them lines.

  • "Reality is just what we tell each other it is. Sane and insane could easily switch places if the insane were to become the majority. You would find yourself locked in a padded cell wondering what happened to the world."

  • I watched this last night lol. It is underrated.

  • One of the most underrated horror films of the '90's. Don't miss this one Carperter fans! Love the video.

  • @Rbatty2 One of the most underrated films of the '90's period.

  • @ethanB612 Yes indeed.

  • @Rbatty2

Agreed. It would deserve a remake but it would probably end up in the other end of the spectrum: 90min of superb special effects and no plot.

Still, the scene with the woman crawling is still awesome.

  • @ThisOneIsTaken Yeah lots of cool scenes like that, the kid on the bike really freaked me out hee hee.

  • I saw the TV version and it was mental! Seriously one of the most thought provokative things I've ever seen that doesn't come from Rob Zombie or the Saw movies. Really high octane fun right there.

  • "Seriously one of the most thought provokative things I've ever seen that doesn't come from Rob Zombie or the Saw movies."

That's a joke right? What thought provoking about Rob Zombie's films or the Saw films? This is 100 times their intellectual equal.

  • Well, I for one am A fan of the Halloween remake and I think that the 1st 2 Saws were epic 9 only ones I've seen so far), but this film shows what can happen to the mind rather than body as in typical horrror films.

  • very true gammaray0909,so very true..by the way the full song is playing in the end credits

  • Rocking song, and I LOVE the film. One of Carpenter's best, and Sam Neill is ace. Realyl is a good horror flick, I used to watch it religiously.

  • Hey that's eary, I got the same fealing when I saw the movie for the first time and still do. It's one of the best openings for a movie.

  • One of my favorite horror movies ever!

And I've always loved how this song opens up the movie. I get chills when the New Line Cinema logo appears and the gentle guitar starts playing, and then the music seriously ramps up. It's like the movie is telling you that your sanity is about to get a foot in the ass.

Thanks for posting this! Never heard the full song before, and I like the creepy middle section.

  • I love John Carpenters movies, especially The Thing but In The Mouth Of Madness is very good too. Also John Carpenter writes most of the songs for his movies, and this one is the best I've ever heard, the guitar kicks ass in this song.

  • Yes, I also love the guitar. The theme song is too dang cool!

  • one of the best movies ever!!!!!!!

  • This is a precious master-piece,but wouldn't it work better all together if Trent discovered in an end twist that he's the one really suffering from psychosis and everything up until then in the movie is therefore his delusion and therefore how it really feels like being "in the mouth of madness"?I think it should've ended just like that.

  • this is how I feel my whole life

  • i love this movie...now where's the rest!!!!

  • One of the best horror movies ever. John Carpenter is a great film maker.

  • we're all in the mouth of madness at least since the industrial revolution

  • love this one this and the thing carpenter rules with his movies keep up the good work...

  • yeah it's definitly HPL's style

  • In the Mouth of Madness would make Lovecraft proud.

  • Great video...

    it's my favorite movie!! :D

  • i love this movie but most of all i love sam neill ;)

  • yeah! with Sam Neill and the german actor Jürgen Prochnow...

  • SCARY!

  • Hahah, wow, great vid for a very nice film. Good work there.

  • a true masterpiece. yet one of the most underrated movies of Carpenter.

  • GREAT MOVIE, GREAT SONG.

  • I rented this film when i was 11 and i loved it. I understood it all, i cant believe how there were critics that said the story was too complicated. They said the same with "Prince of darkness" i saw that movie when i was 12, i didnt find it complicated either, are these critics retards????

  • Yes, they are

  • Yeah, I think it's some kind of prerequisite for being a critic.

  • ive got this song its awesome!!

  • YOU WANT SOME TOO, BUDDY?

  • I love this movie. Especially when he is laughing like a maniac at the end. The best.

  • I guess I'm just dense... how do I search that?
