Not saying this is the best parenting style but when I was little, my mother would have beat the hell (pun intended) out of me for acting that way in church. She would have jerked me up and wore me out 'til the Devil himself felt sorry for me. I envy this kid.

It's all about trying your best for God. I am a Roman Catholic and at the Mass in English see a lot of jeans and t-shirts at Mass by people with million dollar homes and expensive cars, but at the Latin Mass (not the same as the Mass in Latin) I see people who are working class, or even poor wearing suits and ties.

Well I mean within practicallity. If the best you can do is a polo Shirt with Jeans then fine. I am well aware that even those who go to the Catholic Latin Mass don't have all the money in the world. Especilly if they have to drive 40 miles each week to do so.

"trying your best" isn't the way to heaven. having jesus is your heart is the only way to enter god's kingdom because he died for our sins and without him we are sinners destined for hell.

Trying your best in as far as being dressed is concernd. Of course I belive that having Jesus in your heart can get you to heaven, but we also must remember, auctually acting and beliving as a Chirstian gets us to Heaven. Like Chirst, we can't belive one thing and do another.

I use to go to church every Sunday. It has been a long time since I've gone because of this. When we had our son we didn't go because he would do this too. Hopefully he can go to Sunday School in a year.
