Kid is the best possible replacement Rick could have gotten for the retired Little Charlie Baty. He has a few peers in the world of blues and rock guitar, but not many betters - if any. My dream would be to get him onstage with BB, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Alvin Lee and some of the lesser-known but huge great blues "guns" like Chris Cain, Tommy Castro, Shane Dwight, Rusty Zinn, Alex Schultz, Junior Watson, Terry Hiatt, Henry Carvajal & a few others and let it fly with an guitar shootout!
Kid plays the hot country rockabilly style as well as any of the Nashville hired guns and its not even his number one money maker. I'm, awed every time I catch him playing. He whips out stuff that is consistantly amazing and makes it all look effortless. He is one of the best players of his generation.
@scottduncan44 I'm not going to go as far as that. There are some SMOKIN' Nashville guys that would take the Kid to school. BUT, the Kid is one of the most versatile guitar virtuosos around. His blues is right up there with the best....I can't think of anyone....not that Sean Costello is gone that is up there with the Kid. Maybe Ronnie Earl?
@scottduncan44 I don't think The Kid has recorded any country. But he lives near me and I have hung out at jams were he plays and he has thrown in some impressive country as well as jazz licks. He plays by ear and has a wide range of influences.

It's just not fair for the rest of us guitar "players" when a once in a generation talent like the Kid emerges.
