In WW2 the UK was never technically defeated by the Axis powers, but we needed the added manpower and material aid of the much more industrial USA to actually bring an end to the NAZI regime and it's hold on Europe! The US did not at any time 'save' the UK, after the Battle of Britain, the UK was never under any threat of invasion again! Especially not by the Japanese! For Americans to believe they 'saved' us is very arrogant! Saved us from what exactly? We were already secure in 1941/42!

We (The Allies) needed the extra manpower and material to free the French and end the NAZI regime. We (The British) did not need help from the USA to protect our nation, we were doing that more than sufficiently when your nation joined the war! If not for the US manpower on mainland Europe, the NAZIs would have held onto power a lot longer than they did! The Russians didn't save anyone but themselves, with aid from their western allies! They also tied up more than 2 million enemy troops!

The material, supplies, and manpower you (Britain) requested was was long before the US entered the war. You paid much for US supplies then when you were low on funds we lended you supplies for free. This was all throughout the first years of the war before the US joined in. No one ever said the UK was defeated, but you did request help to fight the Nazis. The reason was because the US was refusing to join the fight until later.

Wrong on one point; we signed the lend-lease agreement with the US, they got our military bases in the Pacific, we got the materials we needed to stop the Germans! We spent 60 years paying back what we were given by the US during the war! We only got manpower after December 1941! And you still have control of the bases we gave up, though I've forgotten which ones they were!

ww2 was a sltalemate when you joined in, and with the eastern front going on, germany would have soon broken, however, with out the russians, then it would have been 50-50 between germany and britain. yes, when america came, it more or less certified victory, but it doesnt mean you coming in was the difference between victory and defeat.

france were defeated by germany without even putting up a fight, so they are not deserving of a claim to german defeat.

italy was on the german side, but they would have fallen with the defeat of germany. japan , thouh on germanys side, did not fight in europe,and so britain was not saved by america, and japan, though brave fighters, had nothing to do with helping germanys victory in europe, they actually helped germanies defeat, by bringing USA into the war in the first place.

German, French, Italian, Polish (not to mention the northern African countries)..... Wrong Takekaze50! The Germans never contemplated invasion after they lost the Battle of Britain! Once we won that, we were safe from German ideas of conquest! By the middle of 1941, we were more than ready to repel any attempts by the Germans or any of their allies, including the Japanese!
