  • COWBOY BEBOP FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was super excited to see that a marching band had done a rendition of Tank, but by the end of this, I felt very disappointed. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with what we're hearing is only a recording, but I was just so frustrated listening to it. The tempo sounded like it was going to tear at any time, and I didn't find the trumpets very impressing. Not that the music that they played didn't take talent, but they just sounded...off. Wish I could have heard it live. :/

  • Damn, look at those bleachers.

  • Gave me chills lol, very awesome

  • Jealous! I am thinking on convincing my band director to let us play this in Jazz Ensemble.

  • That was fucking SICK!!! xD

  • OMG cool!!!

  • I honestly don't know what I think of the quality of the performance itself, but the fact that an entire school band would be willing to play the opening number for an anime in front of a live audience has blown me away. In fact, to learn "Through the Night" from Outlaw Star on the piano is a huge ambition of mine, and after seeing this and someone play the opening for Outlaw Star on the piano, I know I can do it, too! Thank you for the inspiration!

  • I think this whole process went a little something like this: "Hey marching band guys! I just learned the alto solo for 'Tank!' Let's play the whole piece for our marching show!" two weeks and not enough rehearsals later: this video! Just my opinion. The solo was almost spot on, but the rest... ehhhhh...

  • @Seabass20329 Here is the thing every part was right its just hard to try and keep it clean and tight. Each performances is sorta like walking down the aisle at a wedding. Like if you start on the wrong foot or to late or early. The funny thing is that is literally what happens, Also this is midway in to there season so things may not be final.

  • I'd want to transfer /out of there/ not /in/

  • Not very good. Just because it's Bebop doesn't mean it went well.

  • @alentris Couldn't agree more. Sucks actually.

  • Whaaaat you just memorized the alto solo from the original version by the seatbelts! WHERES THE FUN IN THAT!?

  • Hoooooly fuck, marching and soloing? Damn.

  • @ExaltedNecrosis yeah but this is my opinion dude also I think they played it out of tune a little I mean the beats were out of place and that one part of the music isn't like the music, I mean this is my opinion of them playing the music, I've been trying to look for videos of people who can play the music exactly.

  • uhh kinda good but not close enough.

  • @karakun1 You do realize this is a marching band, not a jazz band? It has to be transposed to fit a marching show.

  • I need to go here

  • sax solo was nice

  • not disappointed. they took the song and made it into a marching band theme.

  • FINALLY! Someone calls it "Anime" and not a "Japanese Cartoon"...I've seen five videos so far with bands, and nobody has called it Anime.

  • @KhakiBlueSocks But all anime is a Japanese Cartoon, seriously.

I like animu and what not but seriously, why does it matter

  • cries of jealousy...

  • Im going to go out on a limb and assume this was Amazing live. Though whatever kind of camera you used seem's to be having a hard time registering all the sound's properly. Kick ass arrangement none the less amazing song a great tribute.

  • You can never REALLY do it like the seatbelts can, but good try. better than I could arrange, I guess. Is there sheet music that you derived this from or did someone at the University arrange it?

  • i couldnt help but focus on all the flag twirlers and those chicks with the batons...which made this gay. sounds good, but gay.

  • You gotta give them cred for doing a show on this, great soloist, but I feel like it got a little lost in translation. Great show!

  • Gotta love those marching xylophones. You should see them in a convoy on the street!

  • Jesus dick, now I want to transfer schools.

  • @whensuddenlyaMANKEY I thumbed up for Jesus Dick...= D

  • That does it, I'm goin' to Towson.

  • Where's the screaming trumpets at???

  • @DrTrumpet2010

They weren't trumpets. That bit was a saxophone.

  • I think it's very brave and progressive to include xylophonists and keyboardists in a marching band...

  • I want to do this but then again with our show we made state

  • HOLY SHIT. I love Cowboy BeBop! I was thinking about transferring to this school the year they did this! (I was in marching band all 4 years of high school) FML with a rusty spork!!

  • i wish my marching band would do something as awesome as this.

  • Isn't it supposed be a trumpet at the end?

  • @UltimteLifeForm Nope, high-pitched Sax at the end

  • @mike123778 But I thought in the theme song they use a trumpet at the end

  • @UltimteLifeForm its a sax. SAXOMOPHONICS

  • @UltimteLifeForm same alto sax as the solo

  • @roich11 actually tenor sax

  • hay i was wondering if u coulld send me the music sheat for my marching band to play

  • They did do a great job, but there was too much emphasis on the drum line and not enough on the sax. I know it's for marching band and drums are important, but this song is about the sax and brass!

  • @AmeMew It's not that there was too much emphasis on drums, it's just that the drums were playing a very square rhythm the whole time, and that sucks for a bebop song. It's not supposed to sound square and marching like that.

  • WANTS MORE GUARD FOOTAGE!!!!!!!! Our work here was the stuff and no one gets to see it.... ;(

  • @tuskinohime Don't say that...at least 1,225 people saw it on youtube if thats something.
