  • Its the 4.8l v8

  • Yeah that old dash design was on all Chevy vehicles from 1993 to 2007 I think.

  • A work truck doesn't really get much better than this. 8FT box, 5.3L/6.2L Vortec, and the most simple interior.

The only thing better would be the crew cab. (Doubt thats a 4.3. What work truck has a V6? [Unless it's the Cummins])

  • @DizzyMan24 I have a 2011 WT with LS Trim (I have all the Chrome) That is a 4.3. And for anyone looking to get a 4.3, that thing is a bestly ^ cylinder. But i get the same gas mileage as my mom's 09 5.3 LT. I would suggest going with a 4.8 or 5.3. Have owned them all and love them all.

  • @Herget11 is yours reg or ext? I have an older 4.3 ext, decent enough power off the line(sluggish with a/c) but poor city gas mileage(3.73). I know ppl with 4.8's that get better mpg then i do. probably wouldn't get a 4.3 again unless they up the power.

  • @DizzyMan24 Its a 4.8 Vortec....and the Cummins isn't a V6, its an I6

  • Can you do a ext. Cab silverado or a silverado ss?

  • pretty nice for work.

  • its a 4.8

  • Thumbs up if you thought he was going to drive it

  • I love that exhaust note, our 2011 LT sounds the same.

  • That is a weird chime, truck looks awesome!

  • weird gm chime

  • @FIREALARM2009 It sounds just like Chevy Cavalier's chime.

  • 5.3l

  • wtf was that horn? xD

  • Mmm...4.8

  • the engine is a 4.8L vortec v8, 295HP AND 305FT. LBS of torque

  • @ArvinCalifornia pretty sure its a 4.3

  • haha nice horn

  • The airbox will tell you what the engine is.

  • i love the new chevy trucks!

  • I love the stock exhaust on these trucks.

  • @TheStigReviews you got that rite

  • how much price

  • this one is the 4.8 vortec yalll

  • @czechphil Actually the ext cab long bed 1500 Silverado comes standard with the 5.3 vortec iron block V8 no matter what trim level. Go to chevrolet's website & build one or look it up online.

  • @toyota4life94 and a supercharged one pushin 506hp and 550 ft lbs of torque! SHWEET!!

  • @toyota4life94 lol, yeah, the 190hp 4.3 is underpowered compared to the 270hp 4.0 vvt-i Toyota. And the 280 or so 4.8 isnt that impressive compared to the 310 hp 4.6 Toyota. And the 315 hp 5.3 isnt that impressive to the 381hp 5.7 Toyota. Cool

  • @toyota4life94 Holly crap, god why is it every comment I make now is at you, lol. But you can have the 4.3-6.6 dmax in the work trim. (2500 w/t for the dmax) But this is most definately the 4.8 vortec. The 4.3 has a different intake then the v8s. And @ 1:29 that is definately a vortec v8 soundtrack, not a 4.3! lol. But the 4.3 is the base motor for all But the LTZ Silverado 1500s I believe.

  • @Motorfordtoyota Not for the LTZ. The LTZ has the 5.3 V8 standard, with the W/T having the 4.3 standard with optional 4.8

  • @09ICCE200 Thats what i said. the 4.3 is the base engine for all 1500's other then the LTZ. The 5.3 is also avaliable in the work trim.

  • @Motorfordtoyota No, it's not. The 4.8 is standard in the LS, and the 5.3 in the XFE, LT, and LTZ. Only the W/T has the 4.3 standard with optional 4.8

  • Silverardos are very nice., I love them. If I were to buy a Truck right now, it would be a hard decision between the Tundra or a Silverado or a Sierra!

  • 1:32 Pretty nice sound:)

  • 1:00 what the fu** ?

  • is 2010 and it doesnt have power wondows

  • @lucho15 this one is a work trim... work trucks are made as simple as possible so that the price is low and still be functional.. for work purposes lol...

  • 4.8 V8

  • This truck has the 4.3L Vortec V6 with 195hp. The only reason I know the engine is the rims silverado extended cab w/t with the aluminum alloy rims usually have the V6 those that have the chrome rims that look like the aluminum on this truck have 4.8 or 5.3 V8.

  • @southwestairlinguy No this truck does not have the V6, just look at the exhaust manifolds, there's 4 exhaust ports per side. The number of coil packs is also a dead giveaway it's a V8 This truck most likely has the 4.8L V8, but it's possible it has the 5.3L V8. The easiest way to determine the engine size it to look at the airbox cover. It's typically listed on a sticker.

  • @stopscrewingaround11 The LT's and LTZ's have the upgraded radios with OnStar built-in, so the chimes are different. This only has the A/M-F/M radio, 2 speakers, and no OnStar.

  • the is a 5.3 liter, with optional air compresses belt with tensional release

  • 4.8 V8 is the engine!!!

  • jeepers...vinyl floors, vinyl seats, gotta be careful what you Armorall in that thing, get a little on the seat and floor, jump in your going right out the passengers side...

  • what is the engine? v6 or v8

  • 4.8 lol

  • 4.8 or 4.3

  • battery was a little low. had a 4.7 liter v8

  • i have a 2007 LT completely loaded for an LT, we call it a poor man's LTZ

  • The engine looks like it's the 5.3L.

  • @H4Z4RDUS nope, it's the smaller 4.7 v8

  • damn that has a fuckin big engine

  • @buba666able it just looks like that, it's only 4.7 liters

  • on some extended cab you can roll the back windows dowb

  • those rear doors go all the way back!

  • I think that is a 4.3 because I had a truck just like it but pewter and it had a 4.3 in it.

  • they've kinda downgraded a bit on these newer W/Ts.. the previous generation W/Ts (at least the '06 Silverado W/T that i own) came standard with chrome bumpers, an integrated radio/CD player, as well as oil pressure/battery gauges.. but then again, these things were meant purely for work anyway.. still would be nice to be able to listen to your own music while on the job though.

oh and i like this chime better than the standard one GM puts in their vehicles.. sounds like it came out of a VW

  • @martonium yeah also they took the rear cup-holders {on the door} away, my 01 W/T has rear disk brakes, hood light message center, a full cover for the power outlets, ashtray, dull zone climate controls and tow hitch with full power hookup{this one just has the hitch}. I guess GM figured since these are work trucks they didn't need any of these things. definitely a downgrade form the pervious trucks IMO.

  • these trucks last

  • @Stereophile11 hell yeah man!

  • I think these{07- current} a decent trucks. but I like the pre-07 way better. I like the body style more, think they have better interiors are sturdier and have better build quality then these.

  • This video is relevant to my interests! My dad has a extended cab 2009 with the 4.8L V-8 and automatic and 4X4. Great as always!

  • engine probally a 4.8 V8 my dad has a 01 W/T with the 4.3 V6 and it looks and sounds different then that. I am shocked though this is the first time I saw a new Silverado W/T and it looks cheaper made then my dads. Cheap Chevy cost cutting. use to be good trucks.

  • I didnt know base models have auto lights

  • One of the best and durable trucks one can have.

  • wow, i never realized the difference between the W/T and my LT. my '09 LT has a completely different buzzer, and the dash on mine has 2 more gauges, dunno what they are. sucks the backseat windows don't roll down. still a nice truck though. I'm absolutely IN LOVE with my Silverado, it's a fantastic truck. thanks for the vid Kyle! i was waiting so long for a new body silverado. what did you think of the truck Kyle?

  • I thought it was pretty nice for a W/T trim, the more loaded ones are very nice!

  • @saabkyle04 yes indeed. you'll see mine soon when i get the power wired up on my Alpine 1000 watt amp hooked to the 2 10" subs.

  • @saabkyle04 this truck has the smaller 4.7 liter v8

  • @stopscrewingaround11 My brother-in-law has a Silverado LT (don't know the exact year but on this bodystyle) and I think it's pretty cool. He had me wash it for him today and detail it. I drove it from his place to my house and I thought it drove great.

  • Comment removed

  • @stopscrewingaround11 I am just a couple of inches taller than you, and I had no problems driving it at all.

  • @stopscrewingaround11 This truck is for work, not play :D I bet the other gauges you have are oil pressure and battery voltage.

  • for the W/T, LT Extended Cab/Crew Cab

it was base 4.8L V8, higher end was 5.3L V8

  • Well It's good for a work truck, don't want your employees to get to comfortable In there and not do there job.

  • Great video!

And talldude123 is wrong! The silverado (or atleast the crew version is made in Canada

  • was that a vw-style chime?

  • Yes, but the Chevrolet trucks, since they were redesigned, are made in Mexico...that could be why. I personally like bare-bones work trucks. You don't need to be afraid of beating it up!

  • you are slightly off on your comment Talldude, Not only is the Silverado made in Silao Mexico, they are also built in Michigan and Indiana!

  • @digitalrailroader puebla mexico is the mexican distribuitor of volkswagen jettas. do you know where jettas are built in the united states?

  • @alanibanez actually, there are NO VW Plants in the US...At least, Not YET!

  • @digitalrailroader wow i didnt know that. thanks a lot. :)

  • @alanibanez well, just wait until the New VW Midsize Built in TENNESSEE comes next model year!

  • All things considered, this truck is less than impressive, but for a work truck I guess it isn't bad.

  • sounds like the battery was a little low

  • @dmottster yeah we had to jump it that's why it was slow

  • the battery was a little low

  • That is a 4.7L v8

  • For one, thats the 5.3, and two, Chevy doesnt offer a 4.7

  • Oh yea i wasnt too sure

  • @orbitofdoom16 yea they do, in 2008, it went as a 4.8

  • @kendrickevans301 What? Thats kinda what I said. Why did you go back through 6 pages of comments in the first place?

  • @orbitofdoom16 because i love to read, youtube doesn't have a comment page for nothing.

  • @orbitofdoom16 What are you talking about? I didn't say i went through all 6 pages. If you are talking about the youtuber who keeps arguing with me, he/she keeps arguing with me about the imaginary " 4.8 liter " he's saying that there is a 4.8 in the 2006 when in fact, there was a 4.7. Again, i don't know what you were refering to, please reply and state exactly what you were refering to, and i will be sure to clarify.

  • @kendrickevans301 dude 4.7 or 4,8 it really does not matter to you because you never owned a truck before!!! ..you just drive in your 4.7 chevy silverado there bud... you got the only one ever!!!!!! sweet ....... ..... it must be a great truck in your mind........

  • @Silverado2010s What are you talking about, i don't even have a silverado, i have a Ford f-250 diesel superduty 4x4, i never said i had a silverado, you must be directing this a someone else, not me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @orbitofdoom16 yes your right...that fool gets talking about a 4.7 in a truck lol

  • @Silverado2010s and who r u, u think ur big and bad over the internet don't u?

  • @kendrickevans301 Well you where wrong and rude!!!!! kendrickevans301

  • @maxamillion1011 I was not trying to be rude in any way mazamillion1011, i apoligize on my behalf for my " rudeness ".

  • @kendrickevans301 ok......and i apoligize for being rude back to you........ peace out

  • @maxamillion1011 ok man

  • @ 4literpowered and orbitofdoom16 You are both Close, but slightly off: it is a 4.8L V8 making 295HP and 305Ft-Lbs of Torque!

  • That's an interesting sound the exhaust makes, sounds like a propeller airplane taking off lol.

  • my brother has a 2009 chevy silverado and his trucks has 274,156 miles and he got it in november 24 2009 WOW

  • long bed sweet

  • I checked GMs website, looks like the 5.3L V8 comes standard on the ext cab long beds.

  • I believe that is the 4.3 V6 in that truck.

  • Sorry, it's A V8 engine because of the sound the engine makes.

  • @jkman201 it is a v8 becauseo f the sound, i think it is a 4.7 liter, the smaller of the 3 v8

  • this is nice truck!

  • theres swirls in the paint haha, theyre every where.

  • The engine looks about the same as the one in my 07 denali. I think its a 5.6L with 385hp. But who knows. Its gm. Im sure there is a wide variety if trims and engine sizes

  • Wow basic radio. No CD or Cassette! Great video as always!

  • @SuperSportSS just be glad its not a MEXICAN Cheyenne, those don't come with a radio PERIOD!

  • my old 2004 ram st is way better than this. It had a GREAT stereo but it did not have a cd only cassette. And nice cloth seats. The only thing i did to it was tint the windows. Then it got traded for something else i wish it never did

  • you should do a tour of a smaller boat!!!! maybe like 25' or 30'

  • theres v6 and a v8 silvarado , thats probs a v6 my dads work owns one , except its bone stock , but its white

  • @hallma50 and it is a single cab

  • well i belive the work trim includes a towing thing so im pretty sure its the 5.3 V8

  • @nicks1258 it's a 4.7 v8, the smaller of the 3 v8s

  • wow 2007 and no electric windows thats bad :) but the exhaust sound is strange

  • Sounded weak on the startup and the RPM Rauge looked like it hung during the startup, I don't know. Overall, good video.

  • sounded like there was a weak battery on start up.

  • i really like this vid now tinme for an impala lt like a 2007 0r 2008 plzzzzzzzzz

  • @poketehnoob those new impalas are garbage, trust me and gm wants nothing to do with ya once they get your money!

  • those impalas arent bad and they ride nice too, i go to maine several times a year to ski and thats a 4 hour drive from massachusetts and we always take the impala, nothing seems to be the matter, its a 2007 ltz

  • V6 or V8

  • My dad has a 1998 silverado and it has power nothing. This is like the truck for him,

He says with all the power stuff its just another thing thats going to break.

  • @TJC450 I can attest to that. The power window motors in my '94 Isuzu Rodeo are kinda crappy. I wish I had the old fashioned crank windows.

  • I like the long bed and its a work truck so you scratch it or something and its not as big of a deal

  • I believe the 4x4 comes with the 4.8 with the 5.3 as an option but correct me if I am wrong.

  • My dad has one of these trucks, except his is an LT, and its a WHOLE LOT Nicer than the WT.

  • Nice man, yeah this version is so cheap, but I mean look what it's used for haha! I will get an LT or so in the future, but I was just trying to make some people happy with this one. I've never had a work truck on here! I also got a 2005 silverado durmax work trim that was pretty nice, it'll go up eventually haha

  • @saabkyle04 oh, I forgot to mention his is an '09, and its the regular Cab, Standard bed.

  • yeah, mine's an '09 extended cab standard bed, and it's almost a completely different truck then lower trim levels.

  • yep, the Chime is a lot nicer on the Ears, the Horn is a nicer Dual Note Horn, you get Keyless Entry, The Lower Level DIC (That is fixable with GM Accessory #19159438), a nicer Sound System, and the Arm rest is nicer too!

  • @digitalrailroader yes, i got the DIC for xmas, i cant believe they never just included it on all models! it's just a plug and play! yeah the armrest has 3 Canadian morning Tim Horton's coffee sized cupholders and a massive leather console lid. i love the storage underneath too!

  • yep, and my only gripe is the middle seat is kinda hard because of the underseat storage. Just dont get the dark colors, they show dirt A LOT. (Ours is Imperial Blue Metallic)

  • @digitalrailroader mine is white, and the middle seat is a bit hard, but I've only ever used it once. i guess it's different for you with the standard cab, but with me I've only had to take 5 other people once.

  • that dingy noise when you start it sounds easier to listen to then that chirp of a noise on my moms 2007 suburban

  • i like chevys but i love the Body Style of The Dodge Ram Trucks better than the chevys they just look tougher lol

  • sorry no offense kyle but the 2006-current to me look like POS, to much plastic for a truck, they are not a sturdy as they use to be and the seats are deff not as good as they use to be

  • None taken! I had so many people wanting to see one I made this video, I like the pre-2007 better myself, for the reasons you describe

  • even the caddy esclandes seats look cheap yes they are somewhat thick but not wide, i want wide and thick, no wonder GM went bankrupted lol

  • Yeah that makes sense. The Silverado and Sierra together have outsold every vehicle in the country consistently for years, but somehow the seats in them lead them to somehow be what caused GM to go "bankrupted"...whatever that means.

I mean seriously did you really think about that before you typed it out?

  • @crystalscan2002 yes, GM is using cheaper quilty items wherever they can, and the leather would be one of them!

  • sounds great!

  • Its the 5.3

  • @maxamillion1011 nope, itt's the smaller 4.7 v8

  • @kendrickevans301 its the 4.8 you mean

  • @maxamillion1011 well, in 2007, it was still a 4.7 but in 2008 it went up 0.1 liter because of changes here and there, that's y u c people on this page writing 4.8 and 4.7, which both are right because we are on the same page. Some people , i'm guessing like you, don't know anything about that change, but it happened. I'm not being rude, just stressing a point.

  • @kendrickevans301 I have a 2006 chevy silverado 4.8........

  • @kendrickevans301 you have no idea what your talking about man.... chevy has the 4.8.... dodge has the 4.7 ..... you should learn your facts before writting people.... not trying to be rude.. just stressing a point

  • Nice work! great truck
