Actually Venetians and Venice had their own language; Venetian. This language is not a descended nor is it a dialect of Italian; in short they are sister languages. More over, The Venetian republic was one of the oldest republics in the world and it had amassed land all over the Adriatic and Mediterranean during its 1000 year existence. In fact Before the Veneto area was inducted into the Italian Reunification in 1866 It was governed by the French and Then the Austrians. They just arent Italians

@serebii666 the venetian dialect is not so much a sister of italian, as they received many influences from their over seas possessions.. An italian doesn't necessarily understand the venexian
