Wim Mertens became well known after his jusic was chosen by greenaway for his movie. "Struggle for pleaure" was already released 4 years before it became famous when used in this movie. Excellent music, the film is pretty harsh to understand, but nevertheless it prooves that Greenaway is a directing genius.

i just want to say this: i've searched 10 years!! for this music. heard it once on a tape, taken from radio. Some years ago, hear, again, this music at a afertnoon beatch bar. And i whent crasy to meet the DJ. 10 Years. And more 2 moths to get the cd.. :) It's fantastic

It is a great film on decadence of modernity and illuminist tradition. It is a spenglerian film. But it is not a decadent film: it is an "unicum".
